In today’s 3-Bet we’re going to take a look at Jason Mercier’s impressive stack of hardware, Phil Hellmuth’s new t-shirt and film’s most memorable heists.
1) Jason Mercier Decks Out Full-On Trophy Case
If anybody deserved a trophy case in poker it’s Jason Mercier.
Mercier is quite simply one of the most successful poker players to burst onto the poker scene in the last 10 years.
Since smashing his way to victory at EPT San Remo in 2008, Mercier has recorded nearly $10 million (!) in lifetime live tournament earnings along with two WSOP bracelets, several high-roller victories and countless final tables.
In an era where it seemed impossible for young American pros to get sponsors, Mercier also netted a sweet deal from the industry leading PokerStars.
Oh, he’s also been the overall leader on the Global Poker Index rankings for the majority of its existence.
What we're saying is that Mercier has enough accolades to fill a trophy case. And that’s exactly what he’s done, according to a recent Tweet.
The only problem? Considering Mercier is currently preparing to play WPT Alpha8 at Seminole Hard Rock in his home state of Florida he may need a bigger trophy case sooner rather than later.
2) Get Your Own White Magic for Just $29.95 (Plus Shipping)
Well do you?
Superstar Phil Hellmuth, who we put in poker’s unofficial Big 3 along with Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey, has been without an online poker site sponsor for over two years now.
What’s a Poker Brat to do? Apparently sell t-shirts.
Hellmuth announced via Twitter this week that fans can finally buy shirts based on his infamous “white magic” phrase. The phrase was first used in an ESPN interview where Hellmuth was trying to define his reading ability.
It couldn’t be black magic, according to the Poker Brat, so it was clearly “white magic.”
Anyways the shirts offer a fairly simple design with the phrase “Got White Magic?” on them and a PH symbol of course.
Despite being announced this week it appears the shirts are already sold out so fans be may have to wait a bit longer to get their own white magic.
Niklas Heinecker picked up another $178k on Full Tilt Poker last night to shoot past $10 million in overall profit this year.
