However, since both the $15 Mini Main Event and the $700 High Roller are both more special than other scheduled events, it only seems fair to refer to them as the main events of the series. Anyway, here is a short summary of the heavy hitting highlights.

Heavy Hitter Mini Main Event

Tom Dwan is currently one of the main topics in the world of poker. Not only in the High Roller circuit, but also for all online- and recreational players from all over the world. ‘Durrrr’, as his nickname remained after his time at Full Tilt Poker, entered the high roller cash game circuit from a very young age, showing his incredible poker skills on tv, as well as at the online poker tables. Fast forward to 2024, Dwan signs for unregulated ACR as an ambassador, just after speculations towards him for not paying off debts.

If you take a look back at the history of poker, starting from the early 2000s, the absolute major happening was Chris Moneymaker winning the World Series of Poker in 2003. Moneymaker, then a 27-year-old accountant, managed to become the World Champion of Poker, securing a massive payday of $2,5 Million, and all that by winning an online satellite with a buy-in of just $86!

When the ‘Moneymaker Effect’ occurred, young Tom Dwan was only 16-years-old. After having dropped out of school, and earning his money at McDonald’s, he started off trying to pursuit a career in poker. A true fairy tale was in the making, when he had build himself a bankroll, starting from $50. By playing online sit ‘n goes, followed by heads-up games, he registered his first-ever live cash during the EPT in London at the age of 19. Not many can say the first ever registered tournament cash was in a tournament with a buy-in of $3,000, but for the young Dwan it was straight away about competing with the big boys of the game.

Durrrr: A Guarantee for a lot of Online Action

Where Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan registered a bit more as $300,000 in his first year when he legally was allowed playing online, it would be followed up quite swiftly with profits going into millions of dollars. Back then, the cashes which were made at the cash games online, already went like a rollercoaster ride nobody else had experienced before. He was put in the spotlights straight from the beginning of his poker career, being the ‘new’ Phil Ivey of Poker, who is considered as one of the best poker players in poker history. In 2009, he signed his first ambassador contract with Full-Tilt Poker, where the his biggest battles took place at the online nosebleed cash games.

Players like Patrik Antonius, Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Ilari ‘Zigmund’ Sahamies, Victor ‘Isildur1’ Blom, Brian Townsend, Phil Ivey, all stood in line to compete against Tom Dwan at the high stakes heads-up cash tables. As the matter of fact, ‘Durrrr’ was guaranteed giving a lot of action, mainly as he was one of the first recognized players out there who really went until the very end for winning a hand. His playing style was either super profitable, or meant to be in for a big loss. The same counted for Victor ‘Isildur1’ Blom, a young Swede who went through the beginning of his carreer as absolute ‘unknown’ person as his real name was never introduced to the crowd at the beginning.

The ‘Durrrr’ Challenge was a challenge between Dwan and Victor Blom on Full-Tilt poker. Six tables simultaneously, heads-up format, with millions of dollars on the line. Dwan would essentially lose the challenge with big negative numbers, but somehow recovered quite quickly with action outside the challenge.

Millions up, Millions down, it was the story of Dwan at the online tables. The challenge against fellow young-gun of the scene Isildur1 would not be his last challenge. Dwan dared the world to play a cash game over 50,000 hands with $1,000,000 to start. Two players accepted the challenge, Patrik Antonius and Daniel Cates, but both challenges weren’t completed since Dwan forfeited to give action before the half way line. After not reacting to his opponents’ messages, he paid several penalties for not completing the challenge.

Live Tournament Poker not Dwan’s Style

Straight from the get-go of his career, Tom Dwan went on to play at the High Stakes of poker, including live tournaments. From the EPT London, to the World Poker Tour’s 2007 World Poker Finals, he did play tournaments despite being specialized in high stakes cash games.

After having visited the Aussie Millions back in 2008, he went on to play several events during the World Series Of Poker, where he cashes mainly in mixed games events. The partypoker Premier League was iconic back in the day, and Dwan also has been part of it. He managed to get eventually 4th in the final event, where names such as Tony G, Roland de Wolfe, and Peter Eastgate were part of.

Going through the scores of Dwan for the scores until 2014, we can see a variance of tournaments. From the NBC Heads-UP Championship, WSOP events, various invitational events, to the Poker After Dark games.

Until 2018, it has been rather quite around the person Tom Dwan when it comes to live tournament play. It took him until the Triton Poker events in 2018, when he showed tournaments cashes again. in 2019, he became an ambassador for Triton Poker, presumably the most elite high stakes tournaments of the world at this moment.

Dwan has been playing mostly mixed games events, including his favourite ‘Short Deck‘ poker. At the moment of writing, Dwan is also present at the Triton Poker event in Jeju.

As of March 2024, Dwan’s total live tournament winnings are a bit over $6,500,000.

Live High Stakes Cash Games

Tom Dwan, known for his prowess in high-stakes poker, once held the record for the largest pot won in a televised live game, surpassing $1.1 million during the fourth season of Full Tilt Poker’s Million Dollar Cash Game. This achievement broke his own previous record of over $919,000, which he set during the fifth season of High Stakes Poker. However, Dwan didn’t stop there; he reclaimed the record by winning a staggering $3.1 million pot during a livestream at the Hustler Casino in late May 2023.

In recent years, Dwan has shifted his focus away from traditional Texas hold ’em and has shown a preference for short-deck hold ’em. Explaining his transition in a 2018 interview, he expressed his view that poker is more of a game than a sport. He also voiced his frustration with what he perceived as excessive staring tactics employed by players. Despite acknowledging his role in popularizing staring as a strategy, Dwan objected to its continuous use, particularly outside of critical moments in the game.

Dwan’s poker journey has taken him to high-stakes cash games in Macau and Manila, where he has honed his skills and solidified his reputation as one of the most formidable players in the industry.

The Face of Poker

The first ambassadorship of Tom Dwam was related to Full Tilt Poker, where he spend two periods of time between 2009 and 2013.

In 2019, after been under the radar for a while, he got connected by an ambassadorship to Triton Poker. It is uncertain if he is actually still branded as ambassador of Triton, although he is named in the ‘Partners’ section of the webpage of Triton, alongside names such as Jason Koon and Phil Ivey. He is also connected to the brand ‘PokerKings’.

For many poker players all across the world, Tom Dwan is presumably one of the main reasons why people fell in love with poker in the first place. Poker brands from across the world know this as well, being glad to sign such an iconic player of the last two decades.

Recent Allegations against Durrrr

Tom Dwan has found himself back in the limelight amidst a storm of controversy. He is facing allegations of unpaid debts from fellow players such as Haralabos Voulgaris and Peter Jetten, Dwan has been embroiled in a series of heated exchanges and public disputes.

The drama escalated further when Dwan signed on as an ambassador for unregulated poker site Americas Card Room (ACR), drawing attention due to its persistent bot problem. As accusations flew back and forth on social media platforms, one unexpected voice emerged in Dwan’s defense: Dan “Jungleman” Cates, a former opponent who had previously criticized Dwan over unsettled debts.

In interviews with PokerNews, Dwan vigorously denied owing money to Jetten, asserting instead that he himself was owed money from their past dealings. He also engaged in a contentious exchange with Voulgaris, alleging misrepresentation in a sports betting arrangement.

Despite calls from some quarters for Dwan to use his sponsorship earnings to settle his debts, the resolution of these disputes remains uncertain. The poker community eagerly awaits further developments as these high-stakes conflicts continue to unfold.

Recently, WPT Global has been making tremendous progress in the poker industry, and so we thought it would be a good time to catch up with the new President of WPT Global – Alex Scott. Not only are we excited to see into which direction they will be heading in the near future, but mainly how it will look for poker players from around the world.

Alex Scott recently moved into the role of President of WPT Global. With his experience both on and off the poker tables, and his background at Microgaming and FullTilt, we’re positive this is a great match. But what will he bring to the table?

Our very own Social Media Manager & Content Creator, Melvin Schroen conducted the interview.

Melvin: Hi Alex! WPT Global has been making huge progress lately. What does WPT Global stand for in your opinion?

Alex Scott: ‘’We stand for the little guy. David, not Goliath. I mean that in a couple of different ways.

First, we believe that everybody deserves a fair shot to win. As a player, you shouldn’t face an unbeatable game when you sit down, whether because the rake is unbeatable, or because you’re sat at a table with predatory opponents who have been waiting for their next mark to arrive. We’re seeing cash game pools on competing sites that have around five or six pros per recreational player. That is totally unsustainable for online poker as a whole.

Our ecology management system makes it possible for you to win, by reserving most of the seats in a cash game for recreational players and limiting the number of highly skilled professionals at each table to just two. This is better for everyone – if you’re a recreational player, you’ll be playing mainly against other recreational players.

If you’re a professional, you’ll be playing mainly against recreational players as well. Both groups can achieve significantly higher win rates in BB/100 terms than they would at any other online poker site because of this method of balancing the games.

Secondly, we take the integrity of the games incredibly seriously. Having a fair shot to win also means that you’re not up against people with an unfair advantage. This is where our modern platform makes a huge difference – our technology is built with big data and artificial intelligence at its core, which is what’s required to succeed in proactive detection of today’s Game Integrity issues. Unlike other online poker operators, we’ve not had to make a difficult transition from legacy to modern technology, we’ve been built on a state-of-the-art foundation from the very beginning.’’

Melvin: Going from General Manager to President of WPT Global feels like a significant role change. What can the average WPT Global player expect from you going forward?

Alex Scott: ‘’The title change reflects my new mission, which is to focus less on the day-to-day running of the business and instead, represent our brand publicly and engage with the poker community.

You can expect me to be much more public-facing and approachable, and to be more engaged in the issues that are important to our community. Anyone who wants to know more about what we’re doing, or ask any question at all, can contact me via Twitter, and I’ll be finding new ways to get input and feedback from our most valuable players so that I can work on what’s most important to the community.’’

Melvin: You work in the poker industry, but do you play yourself as well? What do you enjoy about the game?

Alex Scott: ‘’I do! I used to play every single day, both live and online, and was pretty successful for a while (I played mostly online cash up to 2000NL). These days I am a casual player and my favourite way to play is a home game with friends. I especially like to play mixed games or Dealer’s Choice, and I enjoy making up games on the spot, throwing in wild cards and features like Double Board and bomb pots. I can adapt well to new variations like this because I understand the fundamentals.

I love so many things about poker. Variance aside, I love how well poker rewards you for hard work. It really is a game where if you put in the effort, study, and improve, anyone can be successful. I also love how you can get to know people from all walks of life and backgrounds while competing against them in such a fun game.’’

Melvin: WPT Global’s popularity has been growing rapidly in the poker community, and it feels a good time to capitalise on this. What advancements or innovations can we expect in the future?

Alex Scott: ‘’As a relative newcomer to the online poker space, we came to market with a product that aimed to do the basics well, with a few unique features (like our ecology management system and action-packed games) to differentiate us.

Naturally, we have a roadmap full of ideas and you’ll see many of those this year – both things that are popular among online players already, and some completely new ideas that you won’t have seen before. The common theme you can expect is that we will be focusing most of our efforts on features that appeal to recreational players, and making online poker fun and safe.’’

WPT Gloval MTT Rakeback in March

Melvin: What makes WPT Global unique and different to other poker brands?

Alex Scott: ‘’We have a few unique selling points that I’d love to share with you!

  • Fairness: We believe everybody should have a fair chance to win in the games, recreational and pro alike. That means that, like the host of a private game or club, we curate the games. Our AI-driven Ecology Management System measures the skill of every player and reserves seats for recreational players at every table while limiting the number of highly-skilled pros to 2 seats. Unlike systems that have been attempted before, there is no segregation, and managing the tables in this way ensures everybody has a better experience.
  • Integrity: Our modern software, provided by A5 Labs, has been built on state-of-the-art foundations, driven by AI and machine learning. A5 Labs’ founders are passionate poker players who understand the nuances of the game and the importance of game integrity. As a result, we have the most impressive game integrity tech I’ve seen in my nearly 20 years in this industry.
  • Value: We’re giving more back in promotions and giveaways, per player, than any other poker site. In 2024 we’re stacking promotion on top of giveaways on top of promotions, all year long. For tournament players alone, we have tournaments with guarantees that go up every time they hit. Major tournament series every 1-2 months. In March – we’re giving all tournament fees back to players in three freerolls (and wait until you see what we have planned for April!). On top of that, we have giveaways to win a WPT Voyage cruise package, a weekly tournament leaderboard, and the 2024 Player of the Year promotion with $250,000 given away!
  • Live Events: Our friends at the World Poker Tour are running the world’s very best live poker events right now, and WPT Global is the only real money online poker site where you can qualify – often for free. Everyone has a chance, whether you’re a high-stakes MTT player, a low-stakes PLO cash grinder or anything in between.
  • Customer Experience: With our approach to customer service and your experience as a player, we’re bringing the ‘good old days’ of online poker back. Every player at WPT Global is important to us and can expect to be treated like a VIP.’’

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about online poker players throughout the years, it’s that they really fancy bounty tournaments. Unlike ordinary MTTs, there’s an unique thrill with the bounty format. Knocking out an opponent and receiving a reward tickles the feathers of poker players, and there’s also the theoretical chance of turning a profit in the tournament before actually reaching the money stage. What’s more, bounty tournaments brings a whole other mathematical approach to the game, something that’s appealing to certain players.

With that in mind, we’re pleased to tell you that the KO Series is up and Running at WPT Global! During a period of eight days, players have the opportunity to participate in many different bounty tournaments. The cherry on top is that the series features an overall guarantee exceeding $2 000 000.

We’ll tell you about everything you need to know about the WPT Global KO Series!

Wanted Dead or Alive

The WPT Global KO Series kicked off February 23rd, and the last day of this poker knockout bonanza will be March 3rd. That’s a total eight days of bounty galore and even though the series already has been up and running for a couple of days, there’s still lots of action to partake in.

Every day of the week, different knockout bounty tournaments will be available in the WPT Global poker client and during the weekends they will escalate, occupying most of the tournament supply. Starting from $5,50, there are many different Buy-Ins to choose from, meaning all players can enjoy knockout action at their preferred stake.

With such a high number of tournaments, there are naturally a couple of highlights in the WPT Global KO Series tournament schedule. The cherry on top is of course the $220 Main Event. With $250 000 GTD, this is the tournament with the highest guarantee throughout the whole series, and it would be foolish not to take your chance in this golden nugget. The “baby brother” is the $22 Mini Main Event and with a $75 000 GTD, this is most certainly also an appealing feature in the schedule. Flight for the Mini- and Main Events are running continuously throughout the series. Day 2 of the Mini Main Event will be played March 2nd, and the Main Event will have its second day on March 3rd.

If you enjoy little more of a sweat, you can register for the $2 100 High Roller. It’s always enjoying following tournaments that have somewhat larger Buy-Ins, and there should be an intense battle around the WPT Global poker tables for a big slice of the $200 000 GTD. The High Roller is scheduled March 2nd.

The last of the four tournaments that deserves to stand in the spotlight is the $110 Crazy Sunday PKO. This one screams action and the tournament holds a $100 000 GTD. Get ready to put your bounty knowledge on display in this tournament on March 3rd.

Sunday Transformation

The more familiar WPT Global Sunday tournaments will also receive a temporary facelift. The $110 Sunday Slam, the $330 Grand Slam and the $11 Mini Sunday Slam will all be played as knockout tournaments during the series, and there’s no doubt that we’ll see many WPT Global players adapt a more aggressive playing style during the next following days in order to collect as many bounties as possible.

During the series, there’ll also be a KO Series Leaderboard. All your knockouts will automatically be tracked and the more heads you collect, the higher of a position you will reach on the leaderboard. There’s some seriously good prizes up for grabs on the leaderboard, for example a $12 400 tournament ticket package for WPT Global’s upcoming Spring Festival!

What are you waiting for? Head over to WPT Global right now and gear up for an intense fight during the WPT Global KO Series!

The Winter Polish Poker Cup is in full swing at the moment in Bratislava. Where the Main Event got kicked off last Monday, it is expected to become super busy towards the end of the week. With this event ongoing, we will not only dive more into this event but also look forward already to upcoming events such as the Euro Poker Championship and the 38th edition of the Banco Masters.

The opening flight day 1a of the €130 Main Event of the Winter Polish Poker Cup on Monday attracted a total of 96 entries. With 10% of the field advancing to the second day, a total of 10 players qualified. At the moment of writing, Day 1b is on the way with 123 entries. With late registration still open there are currently 72 remaining players competing to find a bag at the end of the day. Who will be the successor of the previous Main Event winner Peter Laczkovich by the end of the week? It resulted in a massive payday of €77,029 in the record-breaking event in the history of Slovakian poker with a total number of entries of 5,061!

With plenty of flights to come, it is most certainly a dream start for the event with already having crossed the 200 entries on the board. The live qualifiers will also kick-off, and the side events will be hosted as well throughout the entire week. Keep an eye on our webpage and social media to experience the vibe going through the poker areas at Banco Casino during this event!

Banco Casino Masters 2024

The EPT Paris 2024 is officially over, and you better believe it was a blockbuster! This was the biggest European Poker Tour event ever to be held outside of Barcelona, making it the 6th biggest in total. The longer the tournament went on, the more crazy things started to happen, and when all was said and done, a true poker legend could be crowned crowned the champion.

Let’s see how the action unfolded in EPT Paris 2024!

Boatman or GOAT-Man?

An insane 1,747 entries were made in the €5 300 EPT Paris 2024 Main Event, which created a total prize pool of €8 385 600. PokerListings previously caught you up on the action from Les Palais des Congrès during the first days of the tournament; however, Day 5 was when the Main Event really got exciting. The pay-jumps at this stage were bigger and ICM became a lot more important. A total of 18 players returned on Day 5, and there were some really big names still in the mix.

Entering the second to last day of the tournament as chipleader was British poker legend Barny Boatman. Being an original member of the Hendon Mob, Boatman has been a big name in poker for decades, scoring impressive live poker tournament cashes ever since 1998. He acquired most of these chips after an incredible hero call against Eric Afriat during Day 4.

Day 5 started off crazy from the get-go. From the cutoff, Franceso Delfoco showed for roughly 20 big blinds in the dark with 7 3 . Unfortunately for him, Sweden’s Hans Erlandsson woke up with A A in the big blind and the runout was smooth for Erlandsson.

Play continued and eventually, Farid Jattin was eliminated in 10th place meaning it was time for a re-draw for the final table. Presumably, all players were happy to see Jattin bust; the Colombian was perhaps the most dangerous players left in the field at this time, and if he would have increased his stack, he’d be a very hard opponent to beat.

The Final Six

Fast forward to Day 6. Players had a good night’s sleep before the final six players returned to fight it out for the trophy. Two names in the mix stood out a little extra: the aforementioned Boatman, but also Peter Jörgne. The Swede finished runner up in EPT Paris 2023 and such, he had accomplished an extraordinary back-to-back final tables feat.

Coming into Day 6 as overwhelming chip leader was Germany’s David Kaufmann, who’s no stranger to poker. He won the WCOOP Main Event back in 2013 and was a force to be reckon with during the final table. The dealer shuffled the cards and it was time to start play for the day!

Afriat was the first player to bust out in 6th place, which saw Boatman increasing his stack further. Not too long after that, Aleksejs Ponakovs eliminated Jörgne. Even though Jörgne didn’t reach further than last year, the Swede can look back at a very good week in the French capital.

Boatman’s compatriot Owen Dodd was the next player to bust. Dodd came into Day 6 with 15 big blinds; presumably he was satisfied that he managed to get a few more pay-jumps, cashing €422,150 for his 4th place finish.

Three players now remained: Boatman, Ponakovs and Kaufmann, three very competent players. Ponakovs put his skills on display and starting winning pots left and right and suddenly, he and Kaufmann were tied whilst Boatman was trailing behind. It was at this point things started to go Boatman’s way. He made some great calls, he hit big hands and suddenly, he now held the chip lead.

Eventually Ponakovs busted in 3rd place. He had been short for quite some time but managed to double up time after time, before Kaufmann eventually eliminated him. When heads up-play began, Boatman held a 2-to-1 chip lead. Heads up wouldn’t last more than two hands though; on a 9 J 6 5 board, Boatman pushed Kaufmann all in. Kaufmann made the call after some consideration and showed A 9 . Unfortunately for him, Boatman turned over J 2 for top pair. The Q on the river didn’t help Kaufmann and Boatman had done it; he had won the EPT Paris 2024 Main Event!

Live poker is hotter than even before folks, and EPT Paris 2024 is proof of this! EPT (the European Poker Tour) has been around since 2004, and recently the tour has broken all sorts of records. In fact, EPT Paris 2024 is the sixth largest EPT ever in terms of entries; it’s also the biggest one ever outside of Barcelona. This is only the second time ever an EPT is held in the French capital, and it’s become evidential that Paris and the Le Palais des Congrès is a fitting location for live poker events.

Day 3 has just concluded in the €5 300 Main Event, and there’s 57 players remaining. Let’s recap what’s been going down in the EPT Paris 2024 Main Event so far!

Familiar Names Hunting the Title

A total of 1,224 unique players decided to take their shot in the €5 300 EPT Paris Main Event, and with a couple of re-entries, the total number of entries was 1,747 when late registration closed a couple levels in of Day 2. This resulted in a €8,385,600 prize pool and the winner will walk away €1,287,800. As we said earlier, this is the sixth biggest EPT of all time.

Approaching the end of Day 2, players were in the money after bubble play had been going on for roughly 20 minutes. Spaniard Ignacio Molina became the unfortunate bubble boy when his jacks were up against a pair of queens. No help on the runout and the remaining 255 players started clapping their hands in pure ITM-joy.

There’s for sure been some recognizable names in the first EPT title of the year. The latest EPT champion Padraig O’Neill – who we were fortunate enough to do an interview with last week – made it into the money, but he busted as 207th. His final opponent in EPT Prague 2023 Jon Kyte also featured in Paris, but the Norwegian didn’t have the cards on his side. When busting out from the Main Event before turning a profit, he registered for the €3 000 Mystery Bounty.

Benjamin “Spragg” Spraggy received €11,400 for his 174th place finish, while EPT London 2015 champion Robin Ylitalo reached a little further, cashing €15,000. Speaking of Swedes, Peter Jörgne is still in the mix, and will return as 9th in chips tomorrow when Day 4 kicks off. Jörgne finished second in EPT Paris 2023, after losing Heads Up against Razvan Belea.

57 Players Remaining

A total of 57 players will return to day 4, February 23rd, and Greek Panagiotis Mavritsakis is the current chipleader with roughly three million. Three former EPT Main Event champions are still alive in the tournament: Tom Middleton, Anton Wigg and Dimitar Danchev.

We can’t wait to see who will lift the EPT Paris 2024 trophy! It’s already a legendary event and it will be interesting to see if the other 2024 EPT stops will attract similar entries. Good luck to all 57 players remaining!

888poker has come a long way since their initial launch back in 2002. They are very innovative and just a couple of weeks ago, we wrote about their new Card Strike promotion which is running on all of their cash games table. They were also able to identify and catch 161 RTA users on their site in 2023, and gave the lost money back to the victims. It’s evident that 888poker cares about their players.

Now, they’re taking the next step to improve the 888poker experience even further. A new loyalty program has been introduced and by visiting the 888poker Club, players can receive appealing rewards by completing certain challenges.

Let’s dissect the 888poker Club loyalty program and see what players can win!

Win Prizes by Completing Challenges

When you visit the 888poker Club, you will see something of a smorgasbord of challenges in front of you. These challenges are many and different; some are related to your favorite 888poker games such as Texas No Limit Hold ‘Em and Pot Limit Omaha, some can be found in the 888casino, while others circulate around 888sports. Some challenges are more difficult than others and naturally, the more time consuming challenges will see you earn more points.

Once you’ve earned enough points, you will reach a new level. In all new levels, new challenges will be presented to you, and every time you level up you will receive gold tokens. These gold tokens can then be redeemed for various prizes.

Sometimes when you level up, you’ll also unlock bonus levels. Through these, you can earn yourself even more prizes and bonuses, so these levels are surely something to get excited for.

One of the prizes up for grabs is entries for the exclusive 888poker Club Tournaments. In these 888poker freerolls, more than $100,000 will be given away every month, so these are something you certainly want to aim for. You need to reach a certain threshold in order to be able to participate in these tournaments.

Don’t Miss the Card Strike

888poker always tries to be innovative and there’s currently even more promotions running on the site, an example being the aforementioned Card Strike. The Card Strike is one of the reasons that you should enjoy some 888poker cash games.

888poker Card Strike

The promotion works in a simple fashion. You just join your preferred cash game table as you would do any other day. At the top of the table, you will see your Card Strike board. It works similar to a bingo board; you will see selected cards from the deck on the board, and every time you are dealt one of these cards, it will be automatically marked on your board.

If you manage to mark all cards on the board within 25 hands, a spinning wheel will appear on your table. Watch it spin and see what prize you win. If you’re lucky, you can win up to $10,000!

There’s no doubt there’s a lot of interesting going on over at 888poker, and with the new loyalty program, it’s now even more beneficial then before opening up the 888poker tables. Good luck to all players competing over at the “triple eights”!

After a short period of relatively smaller local tournaments at Banco Casino, from February 23rd the Winter Polish Poker Cup is coming to town. Four times per year, this event is organized and the final of those usually is at the end of the year. The upcoming event can be considered a regular one, having a €130 Main Event, with a GTD prize pool of €250.000.

In the past weeks, Banco Casino has organized a couple of local events such as the Banco Masters, and the Fifty Grand event, where big numbers were registered in the end. Now, for the Winter Polish Poker Cup, the bar has been set high again and Bratislava will be overwhelmed with a horde of Polish poker players, all trying to get their hands on one of the trophies to be collected during the event.

Polish Poker Days

The setup of the Polish Poker Days is all in the hands of ‘Legalny-Poker’, an organization based in Poland responsible for dozens of live poker tournaments out there. Four times a year, they head to the Banco Casino in Bratislava to organize some of the biggest low-buy events in the live poker industry. The first one, the Winter Cup edition, will be organized from the 23rd of February until the 4th of March, and it promises to be a huge one!

Impressions of the Previous Polish Poker Days Event in 2023

Jan Packa, the Marketing Manager of Banco Casino, mentioned the following about the collaboration with Legalny-Poker:

‘’The cooperation between Banco Casino and Legalny-Poker has been going on for more than 8 years. Over time, we have created a second home for poker players from Poland, and the fact that we have been cooperating for so many years and that players are coming back to us is a sign that we have succeeded, for which we are of course grateful. We are glad that this brand attracts excellent partners and overall the Polish Poker Series in 2024 will be one of the biggest events in Slovakia ever. However, last year a Slovak record was set in the number of entries, 5.061 in the Main Event. I believe that this year, thanks to the Banco Casino community, Legalny-Poker community and online partners, we will conquer this extreme number together.’’

Recently, ‘Legalny-Poker’ already started to collaborate with KKPoker, an online poker operator. For the upcoming event, they also partnered up with WPT Global, a good indication of their ambitions to grow this live event to even bigger proportions.

These events are based on the size of the GTD prize pool. Besides these events, there are numerous live qualifiers available, as well as plenty of NLHE singular events, a ladies’ event, and a mixed games event.  On top of that, cash games will run around the clock. But to be sure we are not missing out on anything, we asked Jan Packa if there is anything special about the cash games during the event:

‘’Of course, in addition to massive tournaments with huge prize pools, there will also be a cash game zone full of players. And not only the players but also the bonuses that Banco Casino is known for. Actions as a High Hand Bonus €1,000 GTD, for a Royal Flush, for example, the guest receives €500 in cash. The Progressive Bad Beat Jackpot will also be “running” on both NLHE and PLO. The bonuses are just the icing on the cake, as there will be great games during the Winter Polish Poker Cup.’’

Banco Casino

Banco Casino is the home of many live events throughout the year. For poker players, such events might seem sort of the same, but is that really the case? What makes the Polish Poker Days stand out compared to the rest of the live poker events?

Jan Packa: ‘’We have created a second home for our neighbors to the north, with whom we have a lot in common. Everyone in the casino looks forward to every single tournament in the Polish Poker Series. And how is it different from other events? Endless fun, day and night. An extreme number of poker-loving and fun-loving players are all under one roof at Banco Casino for several days. I most definitely recommend visiting one of the stops during 2024 so that everyone can experience it.’’

European Poker Championship

We also would like to mention already that from March 19th until March 25th, the first European Poker Championship will take place at the Banco Casino. With in total of € 500.000 in guaranteed prize pools, the biggest chunk of it will be taken away by the € 350 Main Event which has a guarantee of € 400,000! Mark these dates in your calendar, when numerous players from Greece and Cyprus will come down to the poker capital of Europe!

The European Poker Tour (EPT) 2024 season is off to a promising start in Paris! Day 1A of the EPT Paris Main Event was played February 19th. However, there was plenty of action at the Le Palais des Congrés even before that. In conjunction with EPT Paris, the France Poker Series (FPS) is running at the same location. The €1.100 FPS Main Event kicked off on the 14th and we now have a winner to present. Let’s take a look at how the action unfolded in what was the biggest FPS Event ever!

Mollhuizen Wins It All

We wonder if anyone could have predicted how enormously huge this year’s edition of the FPS Main Event would become. A total of 1.930 unique players and 4.149 entries completely shattered the previously FPS record that had 2.138 entries (this record was set in the FPS Monte Carlo 2023). This created a €3.983.040 prize pool meaning there was a lot to compete for.

On Day 4 of the tournament, the final day, six players returned to fight for not only the FPS Main Event trophy, but also the first place payout of €470.830. Dutchman Mateusz Moolhuizen was one of these six players and he was at this point third in chips. Presumably, he felt at this time he had a chance at winning.

It didn’t take long before Moolhuizen (who’s been a pro for about a decade now) got some air under his wings. He picked up pocket nines – his favorite hand – early in the 6-handed play and managed to eliminate Scott Margereson in sixth place. After a while, Kacper Pyzara joined Margereson on the rail after leaving in fifth.

The next casualty was Enis Rouissi. The Frenchman had entered the table as the chip leader, but luck wasn’t on his side this Monday. He ran into kings while holding queens and bid farewell in fourth place.

Three players remained: Yassine Bagal, Blaz Zerjav and the aforementioned Moolhuizen. At this point it was Zerjav who had momentum and he held a huge chip lead. Moolhuizen however put his poker skills on display and he won a few hands here and there against Zerjav, and soon they were more or less tied in chips. That wasn’t the case for Bagal however, who eventually got eliminated in third place.

A Fair Heads Up Battle

When Heads Up play started, there was less than one big blind seperating Moolhuizen’s and Zerjav’s stacks. Moolhuizen appeared to know exactly how to play against Zerjav and hand by hand, he got his opponent down to about 10 big blinds. It was at this time the players clashed all in pre-flop; Moolhuizen held A 7 and Zerjay had K Q . Board ran out 10 5 5 6 2 . Such, Moolhuizen’s mission had been completed: he had won the FPS Paris 2024!

The win couldn’t have come at a better time; Moolhuizen is getting married in June and the money will surely help him and his partner Dehlia de Jong (who also enjoys a bit of poker herself) arrange the wedding of their dreams.

With the FPS Paris 2024 concluded, all eyes are now on the EPT Main Event! Players are currently battling it out in Day 2 and the excitement is uncanny, as always in EPT.

Happy birthday to you! Unibet Poker turns 10 years old in 2024, and it’s obviously a cause for celebration. Unibet Poker has come a long way since its initial launch back in 2014, and they have grown to become a well-known international poker site.

In order to celebrate, no fewer than five poker promotions will be available through the Unibet Poker client. Some of these are already up and running, for example their phase tournament which holds a €100.000 GTD. Let’s get an overview of the Unibet Poker birthday gift table!

€100.000 Phase Tournament

One thing’s for sure: Unibet knows how to celebrate in style. The €10 10th Anniversary Phase tournament is perhaps the hottest one of the five promotions during the Unibet Poker birthday party and it’s already up and running.

The online poker tournament is a two-phased one, meaning that players can register to the Phase 1 flights and compete in order to advance to Phase 2. The Phase 1 flights started running on the Unibet Poker client February 4th, and they will continue to run until the 17th of March. Later that same day (20:00 CET to be exact), Phase 2 will begin. All players who qualify for Phase 2 will be in the money and can then focus on getting as big a slice as possible of the €100.000 GTD cake.

What’s even better, you can participate in multiple Phase 1 flights, even if you’ve already secured your Phase 2 seat. Your best stack from all Phase 1 entries will be the one that you bring with you to Phase 2, meaning that if you’re not satisfied with your first stack, you can try to accumulate an even better one.

On average there are five Phase 1 flights running each day on Unibet Poker, so there are a lot of opportunities to hunt for that Phase 2 seat. Considering the €100.000 GTD, this is an anniversary tournament you do not want to miss!

Anniversary Series, Boosted HexaPro’s and more!

The 10th Anniversary Phase tournament may be the star of the show, but there’s more gifts during the Unibet Poker Party. The €500.000 GTD Anniversary MTT Series will run February 25th-March 10th, and during these two weeks players can enjoy special anniversary tournaments with Buy-Ins ranging between €2-€300. There will be total 90 events during the series and a minimum of six per day. €13.000 of the guaranteed amount is distributed amongst four different leaderboards: low-, middle-, high-stakes and overall. Compete for a good leaderboard finish in order to receive additional cash prizes!

Another Unibet Poker promotion is the €115 Prize Drop. This promotion kicked off a couple of days ago (February 19th) and will finish on March 17th. While playing selected Texas Hold ‘Em and/or Banzay Unibet cash games, there’s a chance prizes will randomly drop at your table. All players will receive the same prize and there will be approximately 100 winners every day.

From one promotion to another. Unibet Poker players can participate in the Anniversary Missions between February 26th-March 17th in order to win daily prizes. An example of a reward you can win by completing the missions is an entry to a Unibet Poker freeroll.

The last of the five promotions is the boosted HexaPro Jackpots. HexaPro, Unibet’s fast-paced Sit N’ Go concept, always promises fast and thrilling action and with €100.000 GTD Jackpots, the game just got even more exciting.

We would like to wish Unibet Poker a happy birthday and congratulate them on arranging a proper celebration. Good luck to all players participating in the various promotions!

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that there’s always a lot of action at GGPoker. Even though there’s many interesting tournaments running throughout the week, there’s no doubt that the weekend days are the ones with the most traffic on GGPoker – just like all the other online poker sites out there.

Let’s browse through the GGPoker results from the past weekend and see who the biggest winners were!

GGMasters Overlay Edition and More

The biggest highlight of the past weekend on GGPoker was, without a doubt, the GGMasters Overlay Edition. With a $10.000.000 GTD and only a $150 Buy-In, this could be one of the most appealing online poker tournaments during 2024.

No fewer than 13.201 European players participated in their exclusive day 1A flight. When play ended on Sunday, 1.317 players bagged their chips. These players will return to Day 2, February 26th. Player “Limp Blitzkit” is the chip-leader from Day 1A, and he will enter Day 2 with 508.759 in chips.

In the American GGMasters Overlay Edition 1A Flight, 4.071 players threw their name into the competition. A total of 407 have secured a Day 2 seat and “kbza0823” is the chip-leader from the Day 1A flight. He has 508.770 in chips.

In the Asian edition, 6.083 players registered in the tournament. “Cepillo7807” will enter Day 2 with 411.689 in chips.

You don’t want to miss out on the GGMasters Overlay Edition, and there’s still time to enter the tournament. Day 1B runs February 24th, and Day 1C on the 25th of February.

Another tournament that also held a $150 Buy-In was the Saturday Secret KO. Mystery Bounty tournaments are running hot on GGPoker even after the conclusion of the Bounty Hunter Series, and Saturday’s tournament attracted 2.829 players, creating a $405-102 prize pool. “Never_Lucky” appeared to be lucky for once and won the tournament for $27.608. However, it was 8th place finisher “IamK” who snagged the $40.000 Bounty and such, he was the biggest winner of the tournament.

If we’re talking high stakes, Ukrainian player “Symon Petliura” managed to defeat his 757 opponents in the $1.050 GGMasters High Rollers. This resulted in a $105.918 paycheck.

Medium and Low Stakes

On the medium stakes, the $52,50 Mystery Bounty Million was the most crowded GGPoker tournament of the weekend. A total of 20.760 players threw their names into the hat and as a result the $1.000.000 guarantee was met. Brazilian player “Maaliken” won the tournament for $48.974 making him the big winner, even though “Aram_yan” snagged a $30.000 bounty.

Last but not certainly not least, let’s take a look at the past weekend’s low stakes action on GGPoker. A whopping 18.690 players competed in the $15 Mini Saturday Secret KO, completely shattering the $200.000 GTD with roughly $66.000. Presumably, winning a tournament like this would boost the bankroll for many low stakes players.

This time, it was Brazilian player “Thales Koppe” who came out on top winning $11.734. However, “NoVirtue” received the $20.000 bounty. He finished 106th but he was still the biggest winner of the tournament.

We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: there’s action around the clock at GGPoker. With the GGMasters Overlay Edition running, traffic is huge and players would be wise to get in on the GGPoker action.

With the EPT Paris being underway (and thus kicking off the EPT 2024 season), we found it appropriate to have a chat with the latest European Poker Tour champion, Padraig O’Neill. He won the EPT Prague 2023 after an incredible comeback. PokerListings reporter Christoffer “Oystersh” Karlén gave O’Neill a call and had a talk about his Juicy Stakes collaboration, the EPT Paris, the Irish Poker Tour and much more. Enjoy!

Hello Padraig! How’s life been treating you since you won the EPT Prague? Has the feeling sunk in yet?

“It’s starting to settle in now, I meet a lot of people and they’re congratulating me and once the money hits as well it’s like okay, that’s real. It didn’t hit me at the time; it was something like an out-of-body experience I suppose. But yeah, I realize now.”

Tell us a little more about Padraig O’Neill. Who are you outside of the poker tables? Any particular hobbies that you enjoy on your spare time?

“Yeah, too many hobbies according to my wife. I play Gaelic Football, we train 2-3 times a week and sometimes play matches on the weekends. It’s fun but time consuming. I also play badminton once or twice a week in the winter, so that’s kind of what’s going on at the time. It keeps me fit.”

In fact, Padraig played football growing up but quit when he was 19 years old due to an injury. After a couple of months when the injury was healed, he didn’t feel an urge going back to football and instead started playing poker.

Padraig flew today (Monday 19th) to Paris and will compete in the EPT Paris. This time he’s collaborating with Juicy Stakes and they have some interesting things going on.

“Juicy Stakes are going help me produce a vlog in Paris, which I’ve never done before. They also want to do some Instagram and Twitter live sessions, and I also believe we’ll be giving away some tickets for their events. I’m gonna wear the patch, do the vlog and hopefully get the Juicy Stakes name out there. I just logged on last night and they have a $5.000 GTD nightly tournament now, which is brand new. I think they’re growing and I like the site.”

How do you feel coming in to the EPT Paris? Do you have any expectations?

“I try to keep my expectations low, but I’m excited to play. I’ve played an okay amount online in the last month, I took a few weeks off but now I’ve started playing again. My win rate is good and I think I’m in the zone. I will try to play every hand as it comes.”

Do you prefer to play live or online?

“I think you need both. Online is important for me right now with the family, I need to be home. I used to travel three months a year, I can’t do that anymore, I can only select a couple of events. Online and live are two different things, of course you can win big in live poker when you go deep and I also feel like live is more softer. However, the variance is very high in live poker so you need online as well for the bread and butter.”

We talked a little bit more about Padraig’s family. He’s got a wife and a son who’s eight months old; Prague was his first trip abroad after becoming a father and it was surely a good time to get a good result. He also has a dog, which jumped up in his lap while we talked about this.

Are you playing any other tournaments apart from the Main Event in Paris?

“In Prague I couldn’t because I only had one bullet in one tournament – it was great! Of course I hope it will be the same in Paris, but if that doesn’t work out I will play the $3.000 Mystery Bounty. I will also try to play the $10.000 Event.”

Let’s talk a little bit about your poker career. Your first HendonMob result came back in August 2010, when you finished second at the Leinster Poker Championships. How and when did you start playing poker, and how long has poker been your main source of income?

“I started playing home games back in 2009 like once a week with friends from football. It then turned into twice a week and when I went back to college, that’s when I figured it all out. There was one guy at college who was always winning, he’s actually also a professional now, James “Jaynoo” Noonan. He was winning and I started watching poker videos on YouTube. Poker has been my main source of income since 2010. I took a shot when college finished for the summer and it worked out. Got lucky in the first few months so I kept going. A year or two after that I actually started to make some decent money playing poker.”

In college, Padraig studied history and geography but he isn’t 100 % certain on what he would be working with today if he wasn’t a poker professional. We both agree though that you have to work with something you’re passionate about.

You’ve been playing poker for a long time and your results are impressive. The game of poker is always evolving; what are the biggest improvements and adjustments you’ve made to your game recently?

“It has kind of changed every year. When I played live cash games, I needed to start playing tighter because the rake was high. When I then started playing online, I realized I need to play more hands. Around 2016 I started working with solvers and it took me a while to get a hang of it, it was probably my worst year, but after that, I came out a better poker player. It’s key though to always be open for new ideas and put in a couple hours of studying every week.”

It’s always interesting talking with professional poker players how much they play poker compared to how much they are studying. Padraig isn’t one of those guys who study 20 hours a week but maybe five, and he thinks it’s essential for him to elevate his game.

About a month ago, you reviewed the €10 MTT online. Even though it wasn’t you who played the tournament, what is the biggest mistake you see poker players do at the lower Buy-Ins?

“I haven’t played those stakes in a while, but my smallest game is not that much bigger. I guess you have two different types of players there: some players play 12 % of hands; those might be able to win at that level if they play aggressive, but it’s going to be hard to move up in stakes. Then, you have the players that play 30-40 % of hands who are far too loose and passive. All and all, I think players need to play more hands, but they need to be more comfortable playing them post-flop.”

The highlight of live poker in Ireland, the Irish Poker Open, is roughly one month away. You’ve previously cashed in the Main Event two times (2017 and 1018). Are you participating in this year’s event, and what are your expectations?

“Yes, I am going to go there and play for five or six nights. I am really looking forward to it; the Main Event has such good value. The structure is great for a being a €1 100 and hundreds of people qualify.”

We also talked about the Irish Poker Tour that’s definitely coming off strong in Ireland right now. The Main Event in the Irish Poker Tour stops has a €600 Buy-In and guarantees around €250.000. Padraig is giving a lot of cred to Irish poker legend Fintan Gavin and his burning poker passion for elevating the Irish Poker Tour. Padraig is also promoting the Irish Poker Tour and he hopes a lot of players will participate in the events.

Let’s round things off with a silly little question. Some poker players remembers certain hands they’ve played through the years. Whether a win, a bad beat, a big play or something else, is there any hand from your past that you will remember forever, and can you walk us through it?

“Haha, not really. Recently though there’s been a lot of people asking about the A 3 bluff on the EPT final table. When I play hands I always try to learn from them, and those are the hands that I usually remember. But no, there’s not a particular one that sticks out.

We can understand many people wanted to discuss that hand with Padraig. From the small Blind, Cheng Zhao raised to 250k with J 10 (Blinds 60k/120k). Padraig defended A 3 from the Big Blind and the flop came 10 2 5 . Zhao continued with a 400k bet and Padraig called with his ace high and gutshot straight draw.

The turn came 5 and Zhao now bet 600k. Padraig called the bet on the turn and the river came 8 . Zhao decided to go for the triple barrel and bet 825k. This is where Padraig decided to flex his muscles. The used a timebank extension of his own before raising Zhao all in. After some uncomfortable movement in his chair, Zhao eventually folded the best hand.

It was such a pleasure talking to Padraig O’Neill! He is such a humble guy and it will be very interesting to follow his EPT Paris adventure. Good luck, Padraig!

From Big Bang to Nuclear, last weekend JackPoker flexed its cosmic muscles again and hosted multiple low buy-in high GTD poker tournaments. The series that stole the show was the Nuclear 4S 2024, but players also took part in various Big Jack tournaments that offered the biggest prize pools during the weekend.

As Nuclear 4S Series heats up towards the $44 Main Event with $44K GTD on the line, played on 3rd of March, here’s a short action recap from the last weekend.

Almost Halfway Nuclear 4S But Not Quite

There’s still plenty of poker tournaments left in the Nuclear 4S Series, and we are just nearing the halfway point. In total, Nuclear 4s includes 117 events, plus the Mini Main and the Main Event, and this morning the series finished its event #40 – $10 buy-in $4,500 GTD tournament.

Before Event #40, the weekend saw multiple Nuclear 4S poker tournaments where buy-ins ranged from $1 to $10 and prize pools from $2,000 GTD to over $7,000 GTD. As expected, the attendance was higher than in regular weekly tournaments. Players truly came to play, and this was evident when the total re-buys were announced.

Sunday Jacks Got The Money

Even though the Nuclear 4S Series and its events were, on average, at least 6 times more popular than the regular weekly tournaments, the Sunday Jacks had the biggest prize pools.

The weekly schedule featured multiple Sunday Jack tournaments, where the Sunday Jack High Roller and Sunday BigJack Special had $20,000 GTD and $12,000 GTD Prize Pools.

Sunday BigJack Special

$77 Sunday BigJack Special $12,000 GTD was not as popular as last week but still the tournament reached total 159 entrants. Battle lasted little over 5 hours until the winner “boomkart2” overpowered the challengers and took home $3,240 first prize.

Sunday Jack High Roller

Sunday Jack High Roller featured a $20 000 GTD prize pool and to participate in the tournament cost $200 buy-in. Total 104 players took up the challenge, which was a good number, considering the BigJack Special with $77 buy-in reached 159 buy-ins.

This is a possible sign that players have stepped up their game and advanced tier higher in buy-ins because before this weekend these two levels have been further away in total buy-ins. I am not that surprised because many players have won good money from the Nuclear 4S Series and other tournaments.

Sunday Jack 24

One of the most popular weekly tournaments was the $24 buy-in Sunday Jack 24 that boasted a $8,000 GTD prize pool. The buy-in/GTD -ratio in this tournament matches that with the Nuclear 4S, so it is not just the special tournament series that offer low buy-in high GTDs at JackPoker.

When money is good and buy-ins are very affordable, players tend to take up the challenge and this was so also in this weekend’s Sunday Jack 24 with 342 total buy-ins. Though I do wonder why the number of total buy-ins was not any higher because it is one of the best JackPoker tournaments out there and Nuclear 4S tournaments on average have way more participants and at the same time number of High Rollers is on the rise…

That’s all for now. Keep going Nuclear, I know I will!

Enjoy the games poker people!

Many poker players were first introduced to the game during the poker boom in the early 2000’s. During these years, people stayed up all nights and watched televised broadcasts of live poker tournaments, dreaming of one day sitting at the bit tables themselves. Out of all the televised events, there was one that stood out from the rest: the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

The first ever WSOP was played 1970 and about 30 players participated in the inaugural event. Since then, the WSOP has grown and today is the most prestigious live poker event. A couple of days ago, the schedule for this year’s edition was released and there’s no doubt that the excitement in Las Vegas will be immense this summer. Let’s take a closer look at the schedule!

WSOP Main Event 2024 Schedule

WSOP 2024 will be played at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas between May 28th-July 17th. Considering last year’s event broke all sorts of records, it’s safe to say that the WSOP is hotter than ever and we can’t wait to see the action unfold in Vegas. This year, there are no less than 99 events during the series.

Let’s start with the legendary tournament that’s on everyone’s mind – the World Series of Poker 2024 Main Event. Throughout the years we’ve seen poker legends being made in this tournament; Chris Moneymaker, Phil Hellmuth, Jonathan Duhamel and Martin Jacobson, to name a few.

This year, the $10 000 WSOP Main Event will begin July 3rd and there will be four starting flights running from then to July 6th. There will be two Day 2’s (7th-8th) and it’s possible to register up late until Level 8 in the Day 2 flights. The play will then continue on until only nine players remain. These individuals will battle it out for the WSOP Main Event bracelet at the final table July 16th-17th.

In 2023, 10 043 players registered for the Main Event. American Daniel Weinman won the event and received the biggest WSOP Main Event payout in history, $12.100.000. We’re predicting a large prize pool this year as well and we can’t wait for a winner to be crowned!

More Exciting Events

The Main Event in all its glory, but there’s also many other interesting poker tournaments to be found in the WSOP 2024 schedule. Some of the tournaments are brand new and have never been played at the WSOP before. One example is the $1 500 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot event. There’s no doubt that this 3-day event will be one of the most action-filled tournaments during this year’s WSOP.

Mixed Games lovers are certainly not forgotten and there will be all sorts of games during the series this year. Whether you prefer 8-Game, Deuce to Seven, Razz, 7-Card Stud or H.O.R.S.E. you’ll find the events of your dreams in Vegas this summer.

The whole series will kick off with the $5 000 Champions Reunion No Limit- Hold’Em Freezeout event. This also is a first-ever event and it has quite the unique twist: if you manage to knock out a WSOP Main Event champion, you’ll receive a Main Event Buy-In as a bounty. Considering all previous Main Event champions will be invited to play the Champions Reunion complimentary, there ought to be good chances snagging a Main Event Buy-In.

WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart has high expectations for this year’s WSOP:

We’re proud to be Las Vegas’ Original Main Event. Records are made to be broken, so our motto this year is bigger and better. With our best schedule ever and more than 100 additional poker tables, we look forward to welcoming legends, first-timers and everyone in between. If you’re a poker player there is simply no experience on earth like the World Series of Poker.”

Good luck to all players participating in WSOP 2024, make sure to play your best poker and hunt those legendary bracelets!

You can’t find better timing than this. Valentine’s Day was just a couple of days ago, and now the European Poker Tour (EPT) is having its first stop of the year in Paris – the city of love! We’re super excited for one of the biggest live poker tours of all time to kick off its 2024 season, and there’s no doubt we will see a lot of action.

Let’s go over everything we need to know about EPT Paris 2024!

From Paris With Love

14th-25th of February, the EPT makes its second stop ever in Paris. Le Palais des Congrés is the chosen venue and there are no less than 46 tournaments in the schedule during the event.

Some of the tournaments deserves to be highlighted a little extra. Let’s start with the one that’s on everyone’s mind: the Main Event. The €5 300 EPT Paris Main Event will be played 19th-25th and we can assure you many poker players wants to snag the first EPT title of 2024. There will be many familiar names playing the Main Event, such as reigning EPT Prague champ Padraig O’Neill, Norwegian poker pro Jon Kyte, PokerStars ambassador Maria Konnikova and many, many more.

It’s no news that PokerStars are the force behind EPT, and once again they have managed to create an intriguing live poker event. Additionally to the Main Event, there’s also the €3 000 EPT Paris Mystery Bounty. The increased popularity in Mystery Bounty tournaments during the last couple of years is just insane, and it’s surely an appreciated addition to the EPT schedule.

High stakes action is always entertaining to follow and the winner of the €50 000 EPT Super High Roller will surely collect a decent paycheck. There’s also the €10 300 EPT High Roller with a smaller – yet hefty – Buy-In.

FPS Joins the Party

In parallel with EPT Paris, the French Poker Series (FPS) is also running at the Le Palais des Congrés. The FPS tournaments have somewhat lower Buy-Ins, but they are without a doubt big enough to generate a mouth-watering prize pool. The star of the show is the €1 100 FPS Main Event and considering France has one of the biggest live poker player pools in Europe, we’re predicting huge numbers of participants in both the FPS- and EPT Main Events.

Follow EPT Paris Online

If you won’t be in Paris during the EPT but still want to follow all the action, we’re happy to tell you PokerStars will live broadcast the event. Six days total will be streamed from February 19th and forward: first the livestream will follow the conclusion of the FPS Main Event, and then it will move over to the last five days of the EPT Main Event.

Spectators will be able to watch the broadcast with players hole cards revealed, and enjoy sharp analyses from well-experienced poker commentators James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton. This duo will also be joined by other poker profiles in the commentators booth such as Maria Ho, Griffin Benger and Nick Walsh. The stream will be broadcasted on PokerStars YouTube- and Twitch channels.

There are few things more exciting than the EPT, and we can’t wait to see the action unfold in Paris. Good luck to all participants!

One of the reasons poker has been entertaining throughout the years is the fact that the game is constantly evolving. Not only are new poker strategies and tactics discussed, but new poker innovations are constantly popping up. It’s fascinating, isn’t it: people still find ways to keep a game played with a standard 52-card deck relevant and exciting.

One of the latest innovations related to poker is the Card Strike at 888poker. It’s simple, it’s exciting and it’s beneficial. The 888poker promotion is already up and running on the site, and all 888poker cash game players can now enjoy a new dimension of the game without any extra effort.

Let’s dissect the Card Strike promotion and see what the fuss is about.

Bingo!

Cash games have, of course, been running at 888poker for ages and they are quite popular amongst online poker players. “The triple eights” are offering cash games with various stakes ranging from $0.01/$0.02 all the way up to $100/$200. For most of the stakes, the rake is capped at 5 % (the rake at $0.01/$0.02 is 6,25 % and $0.02/$0.05 has 5,88 % rake).

The Card Strike promotion is applied to all cash games, no matter rake or game. That means Texas No Limit Hold ‘Em– and Pot Limit Omaha players can all partake in the promotion.

So, how does it work? It’s really simple. You just play your cash games as you normally would, but at the top of the table, you will see your Card Strike board. On this board, you will see certain cards. If you then get any of these cards dealt to you, it will be marked on your “bingo board”. If you manage to mark all of the cards on the board within 25 hands, you will get a “Card Strike”, meaning the Card Strike prize wheel will pop up on your table. You’ll feel a burst of excitement when the wheel is spinning, randomly deciding what prize you will win. If you’re lucky, you can win up to $10.000!

If you’re far away from hitting a Card Strike after ten hands, you can choose to reset your 25-hand countdown to zero and start over.

Card strike is completely free and it’s nothing more than a very beneficial promotion from 888poker, giving you the opportunity to win big while you’re enjoying your cash game play as you would any other day. When it comes to online poker promotions, there’s no doubt that 888poker has managed to create a nice deal for all of their players.

Don’t forget Ace the Race!

Except for the Card Strike promotion, don’t forget that Ace the Race is running on 888poker! By completing certain challenges, you’ll receive tickets to different 888poker freerolls in which you can win big. These challenges are very simple and if you qualify for the Vegas Grandstand Freeroll that will be played April 28th 19:00 GMT, you can compete for a slice of the $100.000 prize pool.

Ace the Race – Challenges

Win a hand in cash games with AK (Minimum stakes ¢1/ ¢2)
Play tournaments with $5 Buy-Ins or more (BLAST tournaments included)
Place bets totaling $2 on any casino games or sports events.

You can read more about the Ace the Race promotion in our PokerListings Ace the Race article.

The action never stops at 888poker, and it’s a no-brainer to have some sessions at their cash games table with the Card Strike promotion running. Good luck to all 888poker players!
