SECOOP 2025: PokerStars Lines Up €10M for Southern Europe’s End-of-Summer Showdown

SECOOP 2025: PokerStars Lines Up €10M for Southern Europe’s End-of-Summer Showdown

It may still be summer, but PokerStars is already looking ahead to September — with spreadsheets. The Southern Europe Championship of Online Poker (SECOOP) returns a little earlier than usual, running September 7–28, and packing a cool €10 million in guaranteed prize pools across 261 events.

Now in its seventh year, SECOOP has steadily built its reputation as the online series for players in France, Spain, and Portugal, and if €8 million awarded in 2024 didn’t prove that, this year’s schedule is happy to do the talking. The buy-ins range from €10 to €250, and the calendar covers three full weeks and four Sundays, which means plenty of time to chase a trophy (or three) without abandoning your sleep schedule completely.

A few events stand out—on paper and in prize pool:

€250 Sunday Million Mystery BountySeptember 7€1M GTD
€50 Spicy 50September 14€200K GTD
€250 Main Event Mystery BountySeptember 21€400K GTD

All three are trophy events and a spot on the leaderboard if that sort of thing fuels your motivation.

Pathways, Passports, and Power Spins

Satellites will be plentiful, but the main shortcut into the big leagues is the Power Path Express – SECOOP Edition, scheduled for August 31. It comes with €150,000 worth of tournament tickets, including:

  • 360 Sunday Million seats
  • 2 Gold Passes (valued at €9,300 each)
  • 15 Silver Passes
  • 69 Bronze Passes

Not enough incentive? There’s also a €75,000 Depositor Freeroll, just in case you needed another tab to keep open.

Play for the Leaderboard, Win for Your Country

While many will grind SECOOP for the payouts, some will be aiming for the Player of the Series Leaderboard, where the winner walks away with a trophy and a €9,300 Gold Pass.

But this is SECOOP, where poker meets patriotism. The Country of the Series leaderboard tallies the top 50 players from France, Spain, and Portugal. Whichever nation finishes with the highest score will be declared champion—and every player from that country gets a seat in a €20,000 freeroll on September 27.

The Stars Spinner Returns (Because of Course It Does)

From August 26 to September 26, PokerStars is dusting off the Stars Spinner, giving players another chance to win Power Path Steps, Main Event seats, or a shiny new Gold Pass. If the RNG gods aren’t feeling generous, there’s still a fallback: daily All-in Shootouts with €7,700 in tickets up for grabs, amounting to €229,000 over the course of the series.
