PokerStars Open Maryland Debuts This October

A Week of Tournaments, Bounties, and a Bit of Sweat

While the full schedule is still being finalized, PokerStars has already confirmed several standout events. Things kick off on October 19 with a $400 Mystery Bounty Cup, and the week builds toward the Main Event, which plays out from October 22 to 26.

Also on the calendar:

• $2,200 High Roller (Oct 22–23)
• $300 PLO event (Oct 23)
• $300 Women’s Event (Oct 24)
• $400 “Sunday Sweat” Mystery Bounty (Oct 26)

That last one — the Sunday Sweat — is a new single-day mystery bounty format with a sports betting twist. No details yet on how that works, but PokerStars is clearly experimenting with ways to add more variety and unpredictability to the end-of-series action.

Maryland Is PokerStars’ Newest Stop — But Not the Only One

This won’t be PokerStars’ first time working with Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland. They partnered there in 2024 for the Maryland State Poker Championship. But this marks the first time they’re bringing the full PokerStars Open branding to the state — and only the second PokerStars Open in the U.S. following the April debut in Philadelphia.

It’s also one of three major live PokerStars events in North America for 2025. After Maryland, the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) hits Las Vegas in November, continuing the brand’s push to re-establish itself on the U.S. circuit.

PokerStars Open Maryland Qualifiers Go Live August 18

Players in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ontario will be able to qualify for the PokerStars Open Maryland online via PokerStars starting August 18. Live satellites at the Maryland venue will also be offered closer to the festival.
