Adrian Mateos spins up from 7 BB to win The $200K Triton Invitational

At 8-max, Adrian Mateos was the shortest stack. At one point, his stack dropped to 7 BB, but he managed to shove a couple of times and pick up the blinds uncontested to get back to 14 BB.

The “first spin-up” came when Mateos got it in with ATo against Maher Nouira’s TT for a 26 BB pot (Barry Greenstein arrived just in time.)

The “second spin-up” came at 6-max when Mateos picked up pocket aces (Kiat Lee was eliminated in 7th place.)

In 6th place, Mateos knocked out Maher Nouira: A9o > J9s, 15.5 BB pot, board T-K-5-J-A. Mateos became the chip leader with 41 BB. The remaining opponents had a combined 62 BB.

In 5th place, Mateos eliminated Anatoly Zlotnikov: A8o > K5s, 12 BB pot.

In 3rd place, Mateos eliminated Ben Heath: 77 > Q8o, 25 BB pot.

Mateos entered heads-up play with 33 BB against Triton series debutant Aleksei Lozyuk, who had 35 BB. The heads-up battle lasted another hour. Watch the final hand on Twitter.
