Melvin Schroen: We’re here at EPT Barcelona 2025. How is it going so far?

David “Dauchvid” Gutiérrez Gómez: It’s going really, really good. It has been an amazing week with the PokerStars Open and preparing everything for the Spin & Go Championship Live.

Now we’ve also got the Main Event running. I’m enjoying it a lot — we’re creating a lot of content, people are happy, and everyone is enjoying the whole experience.

Melvin Schroen: People know you mostly from commentary. You’ve been a PokerStars ambassador for five years now. Can you tell us more about what an event looks like for you?

David “Dauchvid” Gutiérrez Gómez: Yes, it’s going to be five years now as an ambassador and commentator for PokerStars in the Spanish scene. I think this is the best stop for all the players here in Spain — EPT Barcelona, PokerStars, the European Poker Tour. Two years ago, we set a record with more than 2,100 players. This time, it’s going to be close. Even if it’s not another record, it’s still amazing.

Melvin Schroen: There have been rumors that you predicted a Spanish winner this year. Is that right?

David “Dauchvid” Gutiérrez Gómez: They asked me what I thought about this Main Event, and I said I think it’s a good time for a Spanish player to win. We’ve been waiting a long time for it. I think Spain needs one — a Spanish champion in a big EPT Main Event. So yes, fingers crossed, even if it’s tough with so many great players here from all over the world.

Melvin Schroen: If you end up commentating on the final table, which Spanish player would you most like to see there?

David “Dauchvid” Gutiérrez Gómez: That’s hard to answer! There are so many. Also, a lot of Latin American players are here — many Argentinians, and friends from across LatAm. I can’t choose one, it wouldn’t be fair.

But to name a few: Ramón Colillas is here, Papo is here, Omar del Pino as well. They’re all good friends and strong players. Any of them at the final table would be amazing.

Melvin Schroen: This week you’re covering a lot — Spin & Go Championship Live and the EPT Main Event. Which one are you most looking forward to?

David “Dauchvid” Gutiérrez Gómez: Both. We’re commentating Spin & Go Championship Live and the Main Event at the same time. Tomorrow we start with EPT Day 3, and in the last two days there will actually be two streams at once — one on Twitch and one on YouTube.

So people can mix both and enjoy the full party.

Melvin Schroen: One last thing — can you give us a quick freestyle introduction for the Main Event final table in Spanish?
