Huge Value on Offer This Weekend (21/03) During SCOOP And WSOP-SC

The giants of online poker, GGPoker and PokerStars, have been hosting the WSOP-SC and SCOOP series throughout March. Despite both coming towards their conclusions, the action remains explosive, with huge guarantees available at affordable prices. ACR have offerings as part of their $50 million guaranteed OSS XL series which are worthy of inclusion to the weekend schedules of grinders worldwide. Here are the picks of the bunch from the internet’s premier poker sites.

GGPoker

Not many sites have the pulling power that GGPoker does. The leader in online poker consistently has the biggest fields and the largest guarantees, especially during a major series like the WSOP-SC. These are the recommended plays for those who are looking for some action over the course of the weekend.

$15 Mini Saturday Showdown [Mystery Bounty] $250k GTD

The biggest guarantee of the bunch comes in the Mystery Bounty streets, with a whopping $250,000 prize pool being split between the payouts and the elusive bounty chest. For a $15 buy-in, this is exceptional value for players of all bankrolls. The tournament kicks off at 6.05 p.m. GMT on Saturday, 21st, and registration will close at 8.30 p.m. Players may re-enter as many times as they like, but of course, remember to play responsibly. Throughout the Series, tournaments will feature Random Drops. These could be Express Tickets, Ring Passes, or even a Bracelet Pass, as an added incentive for players. Last week saw 24,000 players take to the online felt, and the prizepool balloon to a barely comprehensible $331,200. Of that prizepool, $20,069 went to “smokerchips”, who finished 392nd. They banked the biggest score of the huge field, as first and second took home just over $13,000 each! If you want to get involved in this huge event and haven’t registered? Click here, maybe it will be you who pulls the biggest bounty!

$25 Sunday Mini MONSTER Stack $125k GTD

For those after a deepstack experience in a plain Jane vanilla Hold’em tournament, the $25 Sunday Mini MONSTER Stack $125k GTD is the tournament for you. Players will receive a stack worth 250 big blinds if playing from the start, and 10-minute long levels throughout. The tournament is a perfect way to start your Sunday session, as the cards will be in the air from 1 p.m. GMT. Registration closes at 4.05 p.m., which is Level 17. As it is a WSOP-SC event, random drops (as mentioned above) will feature. Expect another massive turnout in this tournament.

$25 Mini GRAND PRIX Super Circuit $150k GTD

If you fancy something similar, but want to start a few hours later, consider the $25 Mini GRAND PRIX Super Circuit $150k GTD, which kicks off at 3 p.m. GMT. Registration will close at 6.05 p.m., which is again Level 17. Ten-minute levels feature throughout, and are a worthy alternative, or companion, to the Mini MONSTER Stack, as players start with a cool 200 big blind stack. The structure allows plenty of maneuverability, no matter the stack size, meaning late registration is a viable option.

GGPoker Bounty Hunter Series 2024

$21.60 Bounty Hunters Sunday Mini Big Game $175k GTD

Back in the traditional PKO streets, the $21.60 Bounty Hunters Sunday Mini Big Game comes packed with a $175,000 guarantee, with half being up for grabs in the form of bounties. Bounties start at $5 and will grow as players stack their opponents over the course of play. With these sorts of tournaments, it is best to get in early, especially with a 250 big blind starting stack, to give yourself a chance to claim as much of the prize pool as possible, as half of it is already on the table in bounties. It then allows you to develop your stack and claim further bounties, thus increasing your take-home. The structure of 12-minute levels is generous, and they will be reduced to 8-minute levels when registration closes at the end of Level 13. The tournament starts at 5.30p p.m. GMT, and registration closes at 8.20 p.m. Players have the option for unlimited re-entries until that point.

$25 Mini SHOWERS [Bounty Turbo] $125k GTD

For those looking for some fast and furious bounty action to see out the end of your session, the $25 Mini SHOWERS [Bounty Turbo] $125k GTD could be the one for you. Starting at 9 p.m. GMT, players will have $5 on their head from the get go. Chips will be flying from the outset, as blind levels start at 8 minutes per level, before moving to 5 minutes per level at the start of Level 12, which is when registration will close. Unlimited re-entries are available.

PokerStars

The iconic SCOOP has been going strong throughout the month, and still remains as popular as ever with players of all bankrolls. Here is a look at a short handful of tournaments across a wider range of buy-ins, all of which are worth playing in this poker writers opinion.

$5.50 NLHE Deep Stacks $25k GTD

The lowest buy-in that features in this piece still comes packed with a generous $25,000 guarantee prize pool. It is safe to assume that by the time registration closes after the first 3 hours and 5 minutes of play, it will sit closer to $30,000, as it will attract a wide range of players looking for a prestigious SCOOP title. Levels run for 10 minutes throughout, and the tournament kicks off at 3.05 p.m. GMT on Saturday. Players can re-enter up to 5 times whilst the registration period remains open. For those who play from the start, their 50,000 stack will be worth 250 big blinds.

$22 HORSE 6-Max PKO $10k GTD

The Mixed Game scene is blossoming, especially in Europe, and for those new to the scene and experienced players, the $22 HORSE 6-Max PKO $10k GTD is a good place to get your feet wet in the Mixed Game streets. HORSE comprises five games: Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Razz, Stud, and Stud Eight or Better. Each game is played in rotation, and players will have 5 minutes per game. $10 of each buy-in will go into the bounty prize pool, and the starting bounty will be $5 per player. The tournament starts at 4.30 p.m. GMT on Saturday, and registration will remain open for 2 hours and 40 minutes. As standard on PokerStars, there will be plenty of satellite opportunities for those looking to get in at a discount. Players can buy into this tournament a maximum of five times during the registration period.

$16.50 NLHE 8-Max PKO $50k GTD

Another PKO, the $16.50 NLHE 8-Max PKO $50k GTD is a SCOOP Side Event. The tournament features a nice $50k guarantee, and bounties will start at $3.50 per player. Cards will be in the air from 7.05 p.m. on Saturday, and registration will be open for 2 hours and 10 minutes from the tournaments start. Players are allowed up to three re-entries.

$22 Mini Sunday Million PKO $100k GTD 2-Day Event

The $22 Mini Sunday Million PKO $100k GTD 2-Day Event has been a staple in the schedules of online grinders. This tournament will kick off at 5 p.m. GMT on Sunday, and registration is available for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Levels run for 10 minutes throughout, and play will break 7 hours and 50 minutes after the tournaments start. Day 2 will resume at 5 p.m. GMT on Monday. Bounties start at $5 a head, and players can re-enter up to 3 times. There will be plenty of satellite opportunities for players on a budget who are looking to scale up their bankroll.

ACR

For those Stateside and worldwide, Americas Cardroom has a couple of options to consider as part of the site’s Online Super Series, which has seen the majority of the $50 million in guaranteed prize pool distributed to players. Here are a couple of selections from the final weekend in the series.

OSS XL ACR Poker

$11 OSSXL PKO $20k GTD

The $11 OSSXL PKO $20k GTD offers decent value to players who are looking to add some extra tournaments to their Sunday session. Starting at 6.05 p.m with 20-minute levels and a four-hour-long registration period, players start 100 big blinds effective with a $2.50 bounty on their head. When registration closes, the blind level duration decreases to 7 minutes, meaning chips will be flying in pursuit of bounties.

$6.60 OSSXL $15k GTD

In the vanilla streets, the $6.60 offers a decent guarantee for a small buy-in. Again, the structure is generous, with 15-minute levels for the first 4 levels, 30-minute levels for levels five through eight, then back to 15-minute levels until level 15. From there, it’s eight-minute levels until a champion is crowned. Registration is open for a whopping 4 hours and 30 minutes, so there is plenty of opportunity to play.
