Gift from the Poker Gods: Let’s Talk About the $1M Cash Leaderboard on JackPoker

JackPoker is determined to to make extra room in its winter schedule. So, alongside mission-based challenges like Snowy Quests, there’s also a place for something a little more traditional. Starting this Monday, January 19, JackPoker has been running a cash-game leaderboard called Gift from the Poker Gods, built around a $1,000,000 total prize pool.

This article’s intended to walk you through how the promotion is set up and how points are earned over its three-week run.

Gift from the Poker Gods Counts Every Hand

Like we said in the intro, Gift from the Poker Gods is a cash-game leaderboard. Every eligible hand played until the promotion ends on February 8 contributes points, which then determine placement on the leaderboard.

The difference compared to most other leaderboards out there is that points aren’t limited to winning hands. This means losing bets and all-ins can still earn your leaderboard points.

Three Weeks & Three Prize Rounds

The $1,000,000 prize pool we mentioned earlier is split into three weekly prize rounds, with $250,000 in rewards each. Of course, these rewards are going to be tied to leaderboard points, but not everything is strictly placement-based.

If you put aside standard leaderboard payouts, random prizes are distributed during each week, and some players are going to receive boosts that move them higher up the standings.

One of the better design choices behind Gift from the Poker Gods is that it isn’t segmented by stakes. Low-, mid-, and high-stakes cash games all feed into the same leaderboard framework.
