CoinPoker Makes Substantial Changes to Cash Game Rake

Rake is now charged in hands with a preflop 3-bet. A Battle Cap has also been introduced for heads-up tables, effectively increasing the rake from 0.25 BB to 3 BB at higher stakes. Here are the details of these changes, along with two updates for tournament players.

CoinPoker Increases Cash Game Rake

The changes affect almost all tables and stakes, with the biggest impact at NL/PL $2/$5 and higher, as well as heads-up tables.

Rake is now charged if a hand includes a preflop 3-bet. If there is only an open raise followed by a fold, no rake is charged.

Caps at NL/PL500 and higher have also been increased.

The standard ante has increased from 0.16 to 0.25 BB.

A 3 BB Battle Cap has also been introduced for heads-up play. Here’s how it works: if two regulars (regular = someone who has played “a significant number of HU hands”) are playing against each other, the standard cap applies (up to 0.25 BB at higher stakes). If a regular plays against a VIP player, the 3 BB Battle Cap applies.
