CoinPoker Announces a New Heads Up Cash Game World Championship in an Unusual Format

The CoinPoker Heads Up Cash Game World Championship will take place from April 6 to May 3, 2026. This time, only players whose applications are approved will be able to participate in the CSWC. There will be two winners: one in NLHE and one in PLO. An unusual rule: limping is prohibited.

Cash Game World Championship General Rules
- Minimum stakes are $50/100 with no ante (stakes may be increased by agreement of the participants)
- No rake
- Buy-in = $10,000 with automatic top-up to $10,000
- Two pools: NLHE and PLO
Limited Number of Participants in the Heads Up Cash Game World Championship
Previously, anyone could participate in the Cash Game World Championship. Sit at the table, play a hand — become a Championship participant.
To participate in the upcoming Cash Game World Championship, you must first submit an application via email to [email protected] with the subject line Heads Up CGWC Seat. If your application is accepted, you will be allowed to participate.
There will be two pools: one for NLHE and one for PLO (initially 4 cards, but by agreement opponents may play PLO5 or PLO6).
There will be 8, 12, or 16 participants in each pool. A player may participate in either one or both pools.
The Championship bracket will be determined randomly.
The CoinPoker Heads Up Cash Game World Championship Has Three Stages
| Stage & Dates | Description |
|---|---|
| Group stage from April 6 to April 19. | Each participant must play between 1,250 and 1,875 hands against opponents in their group. One player from each group will advance to the next stage. |
| Semifinals from April 20 to April 26 | Heads-up matches will last 2,000 hands. Depending on the number of participants, an additional 1,000-hand heads-up match may be held to determine 3rd and 4th place. |
| Grand Final from April 27 to May 3 | 2,000 hands will also be played. |
For winning a heads-up match at any stage, 50 points are awarded. In addition, depending on the result of the heads-up in EV BB, a player can earn up to 150 points (10 EV BB = 1 point).
Other Important Rules of the Heads Up Cash Game World Championship

Participation is paid. Each player contributes $10,000 to the total prize pool. Players also contribute an additional $10,000 as a participation guarantee.
CoinPoker will add $5,000 for each participant. The winners will receive Rolex watches (one watch for the NLHE winner and another for the PLO winner). The distribution of the prize money will be announced later by the room.
Players must play at two tables simultaneously. However, if both players agree, the match may be played at one table.
Limping is prohibited. If a player enters a hand by limping, its result in EV BB will not be counted. Intentional use of limping may lead to disqualification.
Players must select avatars from the provided pool for the entire championship. Each player will have a unique avatar with no duplicates.
