GGPoker ambassador Dan Bilzerian AKA The King of Instagram has been dominating the social media since 2012 with images of his lavish lifestyle. He recently released a book called “The Setup”. The book is said to be a biography of his life, the highs, and lows, how he became a gambling legend, and his philosophy on how he has achieved it all. The book also includes an excerpt on making some of his millions from Alec Gore after beating him at multiple poker games.
Alec Gore's name is now recognized as being involved in the infamous Molly’s Game poker games, where he played against the likes of billionaire Andy Beal who was the subject of Michael Craig’s book “The Professor, the Banker, and the Suicide King: Inside the Richest Poker Game of All Time” which accounts a series of high-stakes poker games that ran for a few years with Las Vegas' top professional poker players. The Professor is mathematical poker mind Howard Lederer, the Banker is Andrew Beal, and the Suicide King is Ted Forrest
“50 mil a piece", So How Did This Monstrous Head-Up Come About?
Bilzerian recently joined an episode on Logan Paul’s Podcast “Impaulsive” where the social media playboy says that he very well might be facing a big Heads-up poker match with Alec Gore (billionaire and one of the wealthiest men in America).
Alec wasn’t happy about being named in Bilzerian’s book where he claimed he got his millions playing and winning money from Gore at private high stakes poker games. Bilzerian then claims that after hearing about the Podcast, sent a message to him leading him to challenge the social media star to what would be the highest heads-up poker game in history.

“Let’s See Who has the Bigger Balls for $25 Million apiece”
“That guy Alec [Gores], he saw my podcast and he text me, I said I beat him for like $40-$50 million, and he’s like, ‘oh, the number wasn’t that high,’” Bilzerian mentions during the podcast. “He’s like, this and that ‘I wanna play you heads-up, let’s see who has the bigger balls for $25 million apiece.”
Bilzerian replied, “Dude I beat you for $ 5.5 million, I beat you for $ 7.7 (million), I beat you for 10.8 (million)” and confirmed he had “100% beaten for over $40 million” and responded with ” I’ll play you for $25 million at the Aria if you want it wired in next week,”
After some back and forth banter between the two Bilzerian says, “And then he was like, ‘I don’t wanna play you unless it’s for at least $50 million.’ I was like, ‘I’ll wire in $50 million to the Aria in 10 days”.
So Where Will This All Go Down?
There have been numerous games in the past that have not happened, but it seems like there is a huge chance of this happening sooner rather than later (rumors saying before the end of the year and possibly November). The 2021 World series of Poker will be coming to an end on November 23rd and with a production team already set up in Vegas it would make the most sense for them to do it there.
They are trying to televise the game with Bilzerian hinting he would love it to be a pay per view match, but nothing has been confirmed so far. With Bilzerian’s 32.7m Instagram Followers this could shine a huge spotlight on the poker world and not just by poker fans but fans of Bilzerian’s crazy lifestyle and the fact its an eyewatering $100 million dollars!
What’s the Heads-Up Structure?
Most likely to be a Cash game where the winner takes all. The player wins when the other goes broke.
So, Who is Alec Gore?
Worth $2.8 Billion (#1008 on Forbes Billionaires list for 2021) Alec Gore founded the privately owned equity firm The Gores Group in 1987.
During a series of underground Beverly Hills real money poker games in 2007 and 2008 numerous high-profile businessmen and celebrities were left in hot water after hedge fund manager and CEO of Ruderman Capital Partners, Brad Ruderman lost around $25million playing at Molly’s game and then started a Ponzi scheme to pay the money back. Once arrested the federal authorities forced Ruderman to spill everything he knew about the poker ring. Many celebrities were named such as Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Matt Damon. Actor Toby Maguire was named along with Gore after the pair were known to have allegedly won $311,000 and $445,000 respectively from conman Ruderman. Maguire was said to have won a whopping $110,000 of investors money in a single hand, and was thus being sued by the investors, who having lost their life savings, came after Maguire for a portion of the winnings when Ruderman was sentenced to ten-years in a federal prisons.
Maguire was said to be “a winner and the best player.” And it has since been estimated that the former Spiderman actor earned $30-$40 million from the high stakes’ poker games. After the story broke, RadarOnline.com reported that Maguire had been winning around $1 million every month for three years at the games, which could mean he is possibly the biggest poker winner of all-time! However, this is all hearsay and no accurate details or verifiable stats have been confirmed or provided.
