After Riess took down $8.3 million in Las Vegas he offered fans and friends the chance to back him in eight major tournaments in 2014.
The package includes buy-ins ranging from $10k to $100k and the first stop is in the Bahamas January 5th.
The move comes as no surprise to anyone who saw Riess' WSOP Main Event winner interview when he said he was the best poker player in the world. What's certain is Riess will have the chance to test himself against the best in less than three weeks.
“It will be great to have Ryan at the table after his big win at the WSOP,” said Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov, who won the PCA $100k in 2011 for $1.5 million.
“It’s great that the PCA attracts so many of the game’s best players, and the $100k Super High Roller is always a spectacular event to start off the proceedings.”
Check out our feature video from Ryan Riess' heads-up victory against Jay Farber below and tune in to PokerListings.com January 5-14 when we'll be in the Bahamas reporting live from the PCA.
Bring a Friend to the PCA and Get $1,000 Off Main Event
This year you can earn $1,000 towards your main event buy-in if you bring a friend with you to the Bahamas.
Full details can be found at the PCA website but here are the offer's most important details:
- You and your friend must both be registered in the 2014 PCA Main Event before December 30, 2013.
- Your friend must not have participated in any PCA events for the last five years.
Last year Bulgaria's Dimitar Danchev won $1.85 million when he defeated 986 other players in the main event and with a new $10 million guaranteed prize pool this year's going to be even bigger.
With 39 events and tournaments ranging from Hold'em to Open-Face Chinese Poker and buy-ins as low as $100 the 2014 PCA has action to fit every bankroll.
PokerListings.com will be on location at the PCA at the Atlantis Resport in the Bahamas January 5-14.
