PlayinWasted Wins WCOOP Main for $1.5m, Schleger 6th

Shane "shaniac" Schleger: In Canada's face!

A trio of Germans chopped up the biggest online prize in poker last night with PlayinWasted claiming the WCOOP Main Event title.

Outlasting over 2,100 players over two long days it came down to PlayinWasted, Daniel "Allanon" Drescher (a former Sunday Million winner) and SwissCantMis three-handed.

Going with a chip chop and leaving $160,000 and the title on the table to play for, it still took 140 hands for PlayinWasted to claim the ultimate online title and $1.5m.

All three, however, earned seven figures and every member of the final table -- which included Battle of Malta final-tablist Giuseppe "1M.BanKroLL" Polichetti and Team PokerStars Online pro Shane Schleger -- took home over $100k.

Polichetti Fourth, Schleger Sixth

Fresh from his eighth-place finish at the live 2013 Battle of Malta Polichetti, who lives in Malta, stepped right into the WCOOP main event and kept his momentum.

Collecting a solid 9,500 at BOM Polichetti rolled it up into almost $600,000 for his fourth-place finish. Even more amazing Polichetti was down to just three big blinds at one point.

Team PokerStars Online pro Shane "shaniac" Schleger, playing from Mexico after being denied entry to Canada earlier in the series, also took down a big score.

The short stack with 24 players left Schleger madea coupe big doubles to get all the way to the final table before losing a final flip to go out in sixth.

Schleger earned $291,154.50 for his epic run. Pro Dylan "Pokerl)eviL" Hortin finished seventh and the UK's Leon "flippetyflop" Louis finished eighth.

Fifth-place finisher alexandrapau took a painful beat to go out with AA < AA when Drescher hit a flush.

Amazingly Jerry "hummylun" Wong took 13th after finishing 11th last year. Final-table results below:
