Ongame Network Poker Classic set to finish live in Barcelona

Online poker players are poised and ready in Barcelona to participate in the live final of the Ongame Network Poker Classic (ONPC). The 45 chosen players will begin the two-day battle at the Hotel Majestic starting Saturday.

The Barcelona event is the culmination of several online tournaments in the Ongame Network, which includes sites such as PokerRoom.com and Hollywood Poker. Once the online field played down to 45, the tournament was halted and the players were flown to Barcelona.

The players made it to Barcelona Thursday and were welcomed with a big party at the Shoko nightclub thrown by the ONPC team.

Saturday the Internet gamers will sit down around real tables, with real chips, and finally settle who will win the $283,038 first-place prize. All of the players will go into the final with the same amount of chips they had when online play was stopped.

The chip leader after the end of online play was Imper1um, a Canadian player, with $103,122 in chips. He has nearly a $15,000 advantage over the nearest competitor.
