Isildur1 Goes Nuclear, Wins $522k

The SuperStar Showdown was delayed this weekend but that didn’t stop Viktor “Isildur1” Blom from winning over half a million dollars online.

Blom was scheduled to play Isaac Haxton for 2,500 hands as part of the SuperStar Showdown but Haxton was having trouble with the Internet in Malta and had to call the session short with the Swede ahead by $99k.

Haxton’s departure did nothing to slow down Blom as he went on to record over 4,000 hands of $100/$200 PLO in one of his biggest sessions of the year.

The high stakes PLO tables were buzzing on PokerStars last night as Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen, ChaoRen160, Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond, Rafi “refaelamit” Amit, IFiNishfish and H@££INGGOL and Ilari Sahamies tried to survive the Isildur1 onslaught.

It was to no avail as Isildur1 amassed $522k in profit over eight hours of play last night.

With the huge session in the bag, Isildur1 is officially in the black by $102k for the first time since the first week of 2012. Add in the $1.3 million Super High Roller win at the PCA and it’s shaping up to be a huge year for the “King of Swing.”

Amit, Galfond Record Monster Sessions

Isildur1 stole the spotlight last night but he certainly wasn’t the only player to win big.

Underrated Israeli pro Rafi Amit picked up an impressive $362k in the $100/$200 PLO games. Amit has been remarkably consistent over the last year and is already up close to $400k.

Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond also had an outstanding night with $185k in profit. Galfond has been lights out since returning from his self-imposed break from the game last month.

Galfond is now up to $618k in profit in 2012. It’s especially impressive considering he sunk to -$663k in late January. Not a bad little $1.2 million upswing for Galfond over the last few weeks.

Rounding out the top five biggest winners last night were Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky (+$78k) and Johnthefast (+$45k).

High-Flying Jens "Jeans89" Kyllonen Gets Shot Down

Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen continues to bleed cash after peaking at $1.9 million in profit earlier this year.

The skilled Finn lost $257k last night and has now dropped over $700,000 in the last week.

Jeans89 is still the biggest winner this year with $1.2 million in profit but bernard-bb isn’t far behind with $1.04 million.

RaiseOnce, the alleged Phil Ivey account, also had a bad night, dumping $247k into the high stakes games.

Verve.oasis (-$142k) and 1-ronnyr3 (-$102k) recorded miserable nights. Haxton also made it into the top five losers thanks to dropping $99k in the SuperStar Showdown before quitting due to bad Internet.
