Rod Stirzaker
Rod “Junglecat” Stirzaker hails from London, UK, and brings four years experience as an online poker professional to the array of talent already assembled within the Pokerlistings staff.
After developing his skills at his local home games, and a thorough reading of Doyle Brunson’s Super System, Rod plunged headfirst into the online poker scene. Liking what he found, he immersed himself in the game, notching up forty tournament victories in his first 18 months as an online pro, all while successfully evading gainful employment.
This time was well spent, polishing and honing his abilities in a wide variety of games, particularly NL Hold Em MTTs and Omaha/8 cash games.
Having made the move into the blogging world several years ago, Rod has travelled and covered the biggest poker tournaments in Europe, providing expert commentary on the action via his unique brand of acerbic, humorous prose.
When not playing or writing about the game, Rod is equally at home shooting pool or loudly strumming his electric guitar, though ultimately his love of poker always brings him back to the felt, and no one is more grateful for this than his long suffering neighbours!
