WSOP Paradise Brings the Heat this Winter with $50 Million Series

WSOP Paradise Brings the Heat this Winter with $50 Million Series

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) and its partner, GGPoker, are capitalizing on a record-breaking summer in Las Vegas with a new festival offering over $50 million in prize money. WSOP Paradise, as it’s been called, will feature 15 bracelet events and provide players with the opportunity to escape the cold winter nights.

Why is it being hailed as the ideal winter warmer? Because 12 days of action get underway on December 3 in the exotic surroundings of Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas. With daily temperatures topping 80°F in December, WSOP Paradise will certainly live up to its billing based on the weather.

However, the organizers aren’t relying on that alone to pique the interests of poker players around the world. Indeed, with the WPT World Championship and PokerStars Caribbean Adventure also taking place between December and January, players will be faced with tough choices.

WSOP and GGPoker Pulling Out All the Stops in Paradise

The WSOP and GGPoker are aiming to win over players with a total guaranteed prize pool of $50 million. This, combined with the fact 15 WSOP bracelets are up for grabs, should be a huge incentive for pros. In line with this, there will be poker tournaments with buy-ins aimed specifically at those with big bankrolls and even bigger aspirations.

The good news though is that WSOP Paradise won’t be an event solely for pros and rich amateurs. GGPoker, the WSOP’s official partner, will be hosting hundreds of satellites every month. The aim is to send at least 1,000 qualifiers to WSOP Paradise. Although the details are still being finalized, qualifiers will get a seat in the main event, as well as flights, accommodation, and other prizes.

“GGPoker is delighted to launch WSOP Paradise and welcome hundreds of players from all over the world to Atlantis Paradise Island this December. It’s going to be an absolutely amazing experience at one of the world’s most luxurious resorts,” said GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu.

WSOP Paradise Schedule is Full of Popular Events

The full WSOP Paradise schedule is being put together as we speak, but the tentpole tournaments were announced on Tuesday. As well as a $15 million guaranteed main event, there will be big money showdowns, mystery bounty action, and more.

The highlights announced so far are:

  • $5,000 WSOP Paradise main event with a $15 million guarantee
  • $1,500 WSOP Paradise mystery bounty event with a $5 million guarantee
  • $100,000 WSOP Paradise super high roller event with a $5 million guarantee
  • $50,000 WSOP Paradise high roller event with a $2 million guarantee
  • $25,000 GGMillion$ signature event with a $10 million guarantee

Also on the WSOP Paradise schedule will be two Pot Limit Omaha events with seven-figure guarantees, plus additional side events catering to all bankrolls and preferences.

Overall, WSOP Paradise looks to be another interesting addition to the annual tournament calendar. If the WSOP and GGPoker can replicate what they achieved in Las Vegas this summer, the new series will certainly be a ray of sunshine for poker players this winter.
