It may not be the biggest tournament weekend on the calendar, but there could still be some decent value hiding in plain sight.

BCPoker has two guaranteed tournaments running across September 26 and 27, with relatively low buy-ins, modest fields and — if recent editions are anything to go by — a fair chance of some overlay.

BCPoker Apex Brings $15,000 GTD on Saturday

First up is the BCPoker Apex, which gets underway at 13:00 UTC on Saturday, September 26.

The tournament comes with a $50 buy-in and $15,000 guarantee, but the number from its previous edition are much more interesting than this. Just 132 unique players entered the last Apex, leaving a $6,090 overlay — a sizeable chunk of the guarantee that the field did not have to contribute itself.

Whether Saturday produces the same situation remains to be seen, but the last turnout at least gives players something to keep an eye on as registration gets underway tomorrow.

Sunday Gems Keeps the Buy-in at $20

The following day brings the cheaper of the two tournaments. Sunday Gems starts at 13:00 UTC on September 27, with a $20 buy-in and $4,000 GTD.

Previous editions suggest that Sunday Gems have also been no stranger to overlays. Across the last seven Sunday Gems tournaments, the field has averaged just 91 unique players, while the average overlay has stood at $1,254 per event.

That does not guarantee another shortfall this Sunday, of course. Still, with a $20 entry and recent fields staying relatively small, Sunday Gems is another tournament worth having on the radar this weekend.
