Super XL Series Roars into Final Weekend, 2 WSOP Trips Added

The 7th edition of the 888poker Super XL Series culminates this weekend with the $1.5 million guaranteed main event.

While the main event might be the climax of the final day on Sunday, it’s not the only event.

All told 10 tournaments will run on Sunday plus one final satellite to the main event.

Apart from the regular $1,050 main event there will also be a $160 Mini, a $5 Micro, a $109 Turbo and a $75 Super Turbo edition.

As an added bonus because of the series’ massive success so far, 888poker will also send more a couple more players to the 2017 World Series of Poker.

Huge Turnouts Continue

The majority of the tournaments of the series have been played and the vast majority have cracked their guarantees by a mile.

Fabrizio Gonzalez

Gonzalez up to #2 overall.

The $2,100 High Roller event, in fact, became the second biggest event of the series with regards to prize pool.

The players generated more than $400k to be paid out and Uruguay’s Fabrizio “DrMikee” Gonzalez once more made headlines by making it to the heads-up.

Gonzalez finally succumbed to the winner chut_up from Canada but still managed to add another $60k to his bankroll and a third final table to his XL VII results.

Gonzalez is Uruguay’s most successful player and just recently triumphed at the WSOPC event in Punta del Este.

With now over $100k in winnings during this series alone Gonzalez has also climbed to second place in the leaderboard.

At the top it’s still Canadian player Mindcrushers who’s in command. Mindcrushers is the only player of this series who’s managed to win two tournaments.
