One of the true forefathers of online poker, Paradise Poker launched in 1999 and lead the way in the industry for several years. More and more competition in the industry, however, lead to Paradise being acquired by Sportingbet, Plc. in 2005. The Paradise Poker player base diminished again in the wake of the UIGEA, which led to a decision for the site to join forces with a larger poker network in early 2007.

The site now resides with Boss Media and the International Poker Network, but the games are loose and juicy as always with the same nice bonuses and guaranteed tournaments. Since the merger, Paradise Poker has further spiced up their offerings and added several new live tournament satellites and special tournaments.

The software  developed by Boss Media has all standard functions familiar to players with player notes and multi-currency play and deposit options. The games played at Paradise Poker are mainly Texas Hold'em. There are also plenty of tournaments, guaranteed tournaments and freerolls with good value.

Overall, the traffic volume at Paradise is in the middle segment of the industry. Real-money player statistics as of November 2016 show 3300 ring-game players at peak hours and 13000 tournament players at peak hours.

TOURNAMENTS AND FREEROLLS

Paradise Poker hosts a lot of low-limit buy-in tournaments as well as a variety of satellites to major events for as little as $1.

The biggest volume is definitely in the small buy-in and guaranteed tournaments offered. Play at any level is relatively loose, but there is some surprisingly skilled opposition in the higher buy-in tournaments.

Paradise Poker also hosts a number of guaranteed tournaments and qualifiers to live events like the Aussie Millions and the Paradise Poker Tour. Check out the monthly Paradise Poker League tournaments that run monthly for some great value.

Paradise Poker also offers a number of freerolls for players looking to build their bankroll from scratch.

SOFTWARE AND GRAPHICS

Paradise Poker has changed its software considerably over the years but the current iteration – which is provided by Swedish developer Boss Media – is the best yet. The software is very stable, features multi-currency deposit options and is very functional and playable. On the flipside it tends to be a little slow when starting tables.

Paradise Poker offers multi-table play and users can open up to five tables simultaneously if they're looking for more action than one table can provide. The graphics are sharp and designed with the signature island theme of .

One nice added feature of is the ability to access live help through any part of the software. For a direct and free download, click the download link above.

SOFT COMPETITION

The competition at Paradise Poker is incredibly soft at the lower levels but it gets considerably tougher at the higher stakes.

In general play is very loose making it a great place for skilled poker players. For players looking for the juiciest tables the micro Hold’em and Omaha tables are almost always the best choice.
