On March 20th, 2025, partypoker ambassador Jaime Staples shared his discontent about Reddit threads mentioning GGPoker in the most popular subreddit about poker — r/poker. PokerListings dug a little deeper into this and in this article we’re going to share what we found out.

Yesterday, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) had some big news to share. The poker mogul announced the return of its 2025 Tournament of Champions (TOC), with the prestigious event once again taking place at The Commerce Casino & Hotel in Los Angeles. The freeroll event, running from May 15-17, will feature a $1,000,000 prize pool and award the first WSOP bracelet of the summer.
Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, this marks the second consecutive year the TOC will be hosted at Commerce, following its move from Las Vegas in 2024. The tournament serves as the grand finale for the WSOP Circuit season and leads into the full WSOP schedule, set to kick off on May 27 in Las Vegas.

A little over a week ago, we covered Connecticut’s latest legal push to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), a move that would finally make online poker a reality in the state. Now, the conversation has taken an interesting turn. Major players in the industry — including DraftKings, FanDuel, and Connecticut’s two tribal operators — have stepped in to back the Connecticut online poker bill.
But while support is strong at the moment, the proposal isn’t going to be all smooth sailing from here. The March 12 public hearing revealed both some tentative optimism and a few causes for concern, ultimately raising questions about the bill’s final form. So, what’s next for Connecticut online poker?
Let’s break it down.
In poker, a single voice can sometimes make a difference — especially when that voice belongs to Doug Polk. The high-stakes pro and content creator definitely isn’t one to shy away from calling out what he sees as problems in the industry. His latest target? The rake structure at ClubWPT Gold.
What started as a complaint on social media quickly snowballed into a real policy shift. Polk’s decision to boycott the site’s highest-stakes games over excessive rake caps led to ClubWPT Gold making sweeping changes. And just like that, one of poker’s most influential figures has once again reshaped the landscape for players.
We’ll break it all down in this PokerListings article.
PokerStars has never been stingy when it comes to giving their players an in, especially when it comes to qualifying for its flagship online tournament. This March, it looks like the poker giant has created yet another opportunity to jump into the online poker mix. With the Sunday Million Anniversary just around the corner, PokerStars is rolling out a new low-cost route: Power Path Express.
The idea behind the promotion is fairly simple, as you’ll see after we break everything down in this article.
Two exciting updates from WPT Global — one for MTT players and one for high-stakes cash game enthusiasts.
The inaugural PokerStars Open Campione called it a wrap on Sunday but not before setting a high bar for the rest of the 2025 live season. The maiden PokerStars tournament smashed attendance records last week, more than doubling its €1 million guarantee.
With 2,423 entries flooding Casino di Campione, this €1,100 buy-in tournament became the largest standalone PokerStars festival Main Event in history at this price point. In the end, it was Adrian-Sorel State who emerged victorious, but not before a grueling final day, pocketing €363,000 and the honor of being the first-ever PokerStars Open champion.
You’ll find everything you need to know about this record-breaking affair just below!
It’s seems like poker sites have been rolling out promotions like crazy this March, each trying to give the players something different and (hopefully) remain in the game. Whether we’re talking about a huge guaranteed prize pool, some unique new tournament format, or just a chance to qualify for big events on the cheap side, there’s no shortage of ways to get involved. WPT Global has thrown its hat into the ring with the ¥33 CN¥ Million: Sunday Hyper PKO Showdown, a tournament that’s all about big money in a short amount of time.
This article is all about breaking it down!
As you may have heard, the speculation is over — WSOPC Toronto 2025 is officially happening. A few weeks ago, we hinted at a potential return of the WSOP Circuit to Toronto, based on speculation going around an Ontario-based poker group on Facebook leak. Now, the confirmation is in, and as it turns out, we were right on the money. WSOPC Toronto is back for just the second time, running from April 10 to 22 at the Great Canadian Casino Resort, with GGPoker once again playing a key role in the event.
Let’s break down all the details, from the schedule and qualifiers to the venue and what to expect this time around.

The new series will run from March 16 to March 31. Here’s a look at the biggest tournaments, leaderboard, and missions.
Things in the poker world are never dull and yesterday was no exception. In a somewhat surprising turn of events, the PokerStars team made a major announcement yesterday. The poker giant is officially pulling the plug on its Polish operations.
As of March 27, 2025, the online poker operator will no longer be available to players in the country. While exits like this often come on the heels of regulatory changes, that’s not the case here. Instead, the move is, according to the official announcement, part of a broader strategy by PokerStars’ parent company, Flutter Entertainment, to sharpen its focus on key growth markets.
Pushes for more poker legislation have been popping up across the United States since the beginning of this year. Now, it looks like it’s Connecticut’s turn to shuffle the deck and (at least potentially) deal in online poker a broader range of opponents for its players. A new legislative proposal, Senate Bill 1464 (SB 1464) to be exact, has been introduced by the state’s Joint Committee on General Law, aiming to allow Connecticut online poker to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) — something we discussed in detailed when Pennsylvania joined MSIGA just a few months ago.
If it goes all the way (and that’s still a big if), this legislative move could enable online poker players in Connecticut to compete against players from other states within MSIGA, increasing the player pool and enhancing the quality of play.

The Triton Poker Jeju Super High Roller Series has been a proving ground for veterans and first-time champions this past week, but no debut story is more impressive than that of Huang Wenjie. In his very first Triton stop, the Chinese newcomer took down the $100K Main Event, securing a life-changing $5,555,000 payday after navigating a record-breaking 285-entry field.
To claim the title, Huang had to fend off some of the best in the business, including Dan “Jungleman” Cates, Artur Martirosian, and Sam Greenwood, all of whom made deep runs in a tournament that generated a $28.5 million prize pool — the biggest ever for a six-figure buy-in event.
It’s a little cliché to say that online poker is blooming at the moment but what can you do — online promotions and tournaments have been popping out left and right the past few weeks. This time, we’re talking about the ChampionChip Series, which is back at 888poker this March. Running from March 16 to March 25, 888poker will be bringing another round of budget-friendly tournaments packed with mystery bounties and knockout formats, all leading up to the $100K GTD Main Event.
That’s a wrap on the 2025 PGT Mixed Games Series. The tournament concluded this week at PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, and it didn’t disappoint. From more than a few star-studded final tables to some class-act performances, the series ended up crowning several champions, including some of the biggest names in poker. Three players in particular stole the spotlight — James Obst, Chino Rheem, and Daniel Negreanu — each leaving their own mark on the 2025 edition.
We’ll break down each of their 2025 PGT Mixed Games victories in this article.
If you’ve been keeping an eye on 888poker’s promo calendar lately, you’ve probably noticed they’re not running short on offers. From online tournaments to cash game boosts, there’s something happening almost every week. This time, we’re talking about the return of the SNAP Happy Hour Rakeback — a quick-fire cash game promo giving players a little extra back at the tables.
For those possibly new to the 888poker platform, we’ll break down everything you need to know about SNAP Happy Hour Rakeback in this article.
Together with StatName, we continue to cover the best cash game players across different stakes and poker rooms. Today, we analyze the results from February and reveal how much the top players from NL10 to high stakes earn per hand on average.
But first, as always, some important notes:
- StatName considers net profit at cash tables. Rakeback, leaderboard rewards, and promotional bonuses are excluded from the statistics.
- StatName tracks results only at regular cash tables (fast-fold tables are not included).
- StatName data may differ from your HUD stats due to potential import errors, but the sample size remains representative and provides an accurate player performance overview.
While spring might still be a few weeks away, online poker across North America is already in full bloom, at least if PokerStars has anything to say about it. The Spring Championship of Online Poker 2025, or just SCOOP 2025, for short one of poker giant’s most celebrated tournament series is making its return this month, and this time, there’s more than $5.75 million in guaranteed prize pools waiting to be claimed.
The Spring Championship is back on the PokerStars calendar for players in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ontario, running from March 21 to April 7. If you’re new to the online poker felt, all you need to know is this — SCOOP is a tournament known for its deep schedules, tiered buy-ins, and a mix of formats — and now it’s 2025 edition is all but set to deliver another round of high-stakes action across North America.
The last few weeks of February have not been kind to GGPoker, as the poker giant found itself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. For one, what was meant to be a celebration of its flagship GGMasters Anniversary tournament turned into a logistical nightmare, leaving players disconnected, frustrated, and demanding answers. At the same time, the platform’s ongoing efforts to crack down on unfair play resulted in 31 player accounts getting banned.
Now, in what seems like a move to answer players calling for improvements, GGPoker has announced a new partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) — designed to reinforce its security, enhance fraud detection, and, perhaps most importantly, rebuild player trust.
