WSOPE 2026 Relocation: Prague to Host 15 Bracelets in Early April

WSOPE 2026 Relocation: Prague to Host 15 Bracelets in Early April

The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is moving. Luckily, it’s not going that far. After eight years tucked away on the Czech–German border, the WSOP festival is heading into the capital.

The WSOP Europe will find its way to the Hilton Prague (in partnership with King’s Casino Prague) from March 31 to April 12, 2026. If you look closely at the dates, you’ll also notice a seasonal change, as 2026 will mark the first spring edition in the series’ history.

You’ll find everything we know so far right here, so let’s unpack it.

What’s Changing: Venue, Timing, and WSOPE Goals

When it comes to the WSOP press release, there’s two parts to unpack. First, there’s the change of venue. Hilton Prague, a hotel live-poker regulars will already know from EPT Prague, is the new base. Second, there’s a change in the calendar. Instead of its usual autumn slot, WSOPE is moving everything up to spring, with 15 gold bracelet events across 13 days.

The idea is more than clear, especially if you ask Chief Executive Officer of WSOP, Ty Stewart:

Ty Stewart

It’s an exciting rebirth of the World Series of Poker Europe in Prague. We have a big ambition to elevate this festival to one of the very best in the world and look forward to welcoming players to a great poker city next April.

Why Leave Rozvadov Now?

While this could seem out of the blue, it’s not that unexpected. Rozvadov has delivered huge WSOPE numbers over the years but the location, an 800-person border town, asked a lot of the average poker traveler. Getting to a somewhat remote town meant more transfers, more planning, and fewer off-table options. Not really poker paradise.

If you ask us, the 2025 WSOPE numbers only helped the move. In 2025, the Main Event drew 659 entries, down from 768 in 2024 and well off the record 817 set in 2023.

Why Change the Date?

If you look at those WSOPE 2026 dates again, you’ll notice something. These newly announced WSOPE dates actually run head-to-head with the PokerStars Irish Open (slated for March 26 to April 6, 2026).So, what does this mean?

For one, it means this is going to be rare top-tier clash on the European calendar. It also means poker pros now have to weigh the prize pools against travel costs and scheduling, while mid-stakes grinders need to decide which satellites are going to be worth it.

What to Expect from WSOPE 2026 in Prague

For now, we know that WSOPE 2026 has locked in 15 bracelets for spring. According to their press release, qualifiers will flow through GGPoker, including the WSOP Express satellite track. For now, that’s all we know for sure.

More details on the 15 bracelet events will arrive with the full schedule, which will hopefully be soon. Right now, everything else is just our best guess. We’d expect the Main Event to remain at the €10,350 level, with a mix of No-Limit Hold’em, PLO, and likely a few higher buy-ins. As for everything else, we’ll just have to wait and see.
