Poker players can officially mark their calendars — the WPT World Championship Festival is heading back to Wynn Las Vegas from December 2–22, 2025. The end-of-year series, now in its fourth edition, will once again take over the Encore side of the property, closing out Season 23 of the World Poker Tour in style.
Two Main Events Locked In
While the full schedule is still under wraps, the WPT has locked in dates for its two headline events.
The $10,400 WPT World Championship headlines the series, running December 13–19, before the six surviving players return on December 21 for the televised final table. It will once again be the final stop of the WPT’s season, with a spot in the Champions Club and millions in potential prize money on the line.
Also confirmed is the $1,100 WPT Prime Championship, set for December 7–12 before its own final six battle it out on December 20 in front of the cameras.
A Look Back at WPT World Championship 2024
Last year’s festival drew massive crowds despite no guaranteed prize pool for the Championship. The main event still amassed more than $23 million in total prize money, making it one of the largest live tournaments outside of the WSOP.

When all was said and played, Scott Stewart came out on top of a 2,392-entry Championship field to secure the biggest payday of his career — $2.56 million — while Chris Moorman made headlines for back-to-back fourth-place finishes. The Prime Championship was no less impressive, with Zak VanKeuren navigating through over 10,000 entries to take home more than $1.16 million.
December Clash in the Poker Calendar
The 2025 festival will once again overlap with WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas, which runs December 14–18. That means players looking to chase both titles will face a logistical puzzle, and organizers on both sides will be watching the numbers closely.
The full WPT World Championship schedule is expected to drop in the coming weeks, but based on recent editions, players can anticipate a mix of No Limit Hold’em, Mystery Bounties, Omaha variants, and perhaps a few high rollers to round out the slate.
