At the end of August 2025, AMA shared its revenue tracker report for commercial gaming — casino, sports betting, iGaming — of the second quarter of the year and the results are promising despite political and economical issues in the country and the world.
PokerListings studied these statistics and in this article we share the most interesting and important facts for poker players.
USA Commercial Gaming Revenue Stats From Q2 2025
Every U.S. state, except North Caroline, showed in the second quarter year-to-year cumulative growth of revenue from commercial gaming with a total increase of 9.8% reaching $19.44 billion quarter revenue.

Nevada made the biggest revenue with $3,858.3M but showed the smallest growth — only 0.3% — after North Caroline who lost 18.5% of revenue.
Nebraska showed the biggest growth of 140.1% but only with $66M in revenue.
Interestingly, the largest source of revenue in commercial gaming wasn’t an iGaming or sports betting but brick & mortar casinos — classic live venues and their games.
They made 2/3 of whole revenue but expanded only by 2.8% while sports betting and iGaming together grew by 24.2%.

Unfortunately, poker in any form is not highlighted in the report, so we can’t know for sure what growth it showed. Seems like the American Gaming Association doesn’t consider poker as a large enough part of the commercial gaming to distinguish it for more detailed review on its own.
It is also important to remember that AMA doesn’t follow and include “grey area” operators’ revenues in its reports because they do not pay full taxes in the USA or report their income.
However, it doesn’t mean that poker didn’t impact these stats in a good way.
How Poker Helps the U.S. Gambling to Grow
In April 2025, when the second quarter started, the fifth-most populous U.S. state Pennsylvania joined Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) giving players access to a conjoined pool of six states in total.
During the three months of the second quarter, poker brands offered players a great variety of poker festivals, including but not limited by PokerStars Open Philadelphia, RunGood Poker Series, WSOP Circuit, WSOP, Moneymaker Poker Tour, MSPT, PGT series, The Lodge series, WPT series, LIPS series, but also uncountable number of local tours of different scale for all categories of players.
Finally, the second quarter also was the time of continuation of sweepstakes blossom that stimulated people to try the similar commercial games and directed the fresh traffic to different gambling activities. It seems like the commercial games industry will continue to grow up to the end of 2025 but the dynamic can change because of The One Beautiful Bill Act of Donald Trump that will come into force in 2026.
