Matthias Eibinger Dominates Omaha Events at Triton Jeju

Matthias Eibinger Dominates Omaha Events at Triton Jeju

33-year-old poker pro Matthias Eibinger made 3 final tables in Omaha (two “pure” PLO events and one NLH/PLO) events. Here’s a closer look at each of them.

Matthias Eibinger Is Far from an Omaha Specialist

Matthias Eibinger started playing Omaha at Triton in December 2025 with a single goal — to win more tournaments. Overall, he is an NLHE specialist and began his career grinding 6-max hyper SNGs to SuperNova Elite status on PokerStars (nickname “iambest2”).

In December 2025, Matthias Eibinger played one event — the $75K PLO Triton PLO WSOP Paradise — and won it. In heads-up, he made a deal with Mike Watson. The first-place prize was $1,570,640*.

Of course, Matthias Eibinger couldn’t skip the PLO events at Triton Jeju and managed to extract maximum value from them.

Eibinger finished only 5th.

The tournament was very dynamic. At 3-max, the average stack dropped to 20 BB. Punnat Punsri was the luckiest that evening. Punsri commented on his victory:

“When the stacks get shallow and the antes are very big in Hold’em, a lot of the hands play themselves”

Also, Thailand’s top tournament player Punnat Punsri emphasized that it was important for him to win this event, as from the very beginning of his career he alternated between two disciplines: Hold’em and Omaha.

This was Punsri’s 6th Triton title. Only Jason Koon has more (12 titles).

Final Table Payouts — $30K PLO/NLH (60 entries):

$50K PLO Mystery Bounty: Matthias Eibinger Falls Short to Artur Martirosian

The relationship these two players have with Omaha is somewhat similar. Artur started playing four-card poker last season with a single goal: to win the Triton Series Player of the Year ranking. His plan worked. This season, Artur plans to defend his Triton POY title.

However, before this event, the series wasn’t going well for him:

  • 12 tournaments played
  • $710K in buy-ins (excluding re-entries)
  • $408K in winnings

Martirosian reached the final table with the second-shortest stack of 29 BB. But he managed to eliminate all opponents, including Matthias Eibinger in heads-up.

Interesting fact: over his career, Artur has played 4 heads-up matches in PLO events at Triton and won all 4.

Artur had to draw 7 bounties. By the draw, he was supposed to pick last. In the end, he added $550K in bounties to his $494K prize. The two top bounties of $200K and $300K were drawn by Cesar Garcia.

Final Table Payouts — $50K PLO Mystery Bounty (73 entries, including bounties):

PositionCountryPlayerPayout
1Artur Martirosian$1,044,000
2Matthias Eibinger$561,000
3Seth Davies$351,000
4Stephen Chidwick$264,000
5Jason Koon$264,000
6Cesar Garcia$611,000
7David Wang$88,000

$100K PLO Main Event: Matthias Eibinger Defeats Richard Gryko Heads-Up

This tournament was not an easy ride for Eibinger. In a post-tournament interview, he said that at some point he lost all hope of winning:

“For four hours I was chip leader but then all-in, lost, all-in, lost, all-in, lost. I just had no hope left somehow. But someone on the stream said that Ben Tollerene is one of the most sharp people at staying in a positive mood and just evaluating how many big blinds he has. I tried that, and now I’m the lucky winner.”

In heads-up, Eibinger’s stack dropped to 8 BB, but he managed to spin it up. Watch the final hand on X (Twitter).

Final Table Payouts — $100K PLO Main Event (65 entries):

PositionCountryPlayerPayout
1Matthias Eibinger$1,787,000
2Richard Gryko$1,270,000
3Klemens Roiter$833,000
4Dan Dvoress$640,000
5Patrick Antonius$507,000
6Eelis Parssinen$396,000
7Nino Pansier$312,000

Eibinger became the third player in Triton history to win two Main Events. He won another one, in NLHE, at the Monte Carlo series in 2023 ($3.5M).
