“Farrugia_1” Dominates Festival Online High Roller, 888poker Pro Ian Simpson Bags a Stack for Texas PKO Day 2
The action has kept up one bit on 888poker as The Festival Online continues to roll on with events every single day.
This last weekend saw multiple 888poker pros and high-stakes online crushers attempt to bag for Day 2 of the Texas PKO $150,000 guaranteed, while a Maltese online poker PKO specialist put on a dominant display in the $525 High Roller on Sunday.
888poker Ambassador Ian Simpson Bags for Day 2 of Festival $150,000 PKO
As The Festival Online Series continues to ramp up speed each week, the Day 1 flights for the $15,000 GTD Texas PKO continue to boom. We saw many well-known poker players enter the event, generating action and lots of pre-flop raising with the bounties in play.
This weekend saw 888poker pro Ian “Simpioni” Simpson get his stack into Day 2, notching a juicy $314.06 in bounties as he cruised his way into the next part of the $150,000 guaranteed PKO.
He was eventually joined by Swedish high-stakes crusher Jerry “Perry Mejsen” Ödeen, who got into Day 2 after his 3rd attempt at a Day 1 flight. The high-stakes battler has $9,845,411 in online cashes and has established himself as one of the best at the online tournament.
Famous 888poker ambassador Vivian “vivi.888.” Saliba missed out on getting a Day 2 stack, with her only consolation being $93.75 in bounties. Saliba would be joined in disappointment by fellow 888poker team member Josh “Josh_Manley” Manley, who bricked out on his Day 1 flight.
Jack “jackaoliver” Oliver couldn’t miss a spot when he ran to third place in the World Series of Poker Main Event in 2021, cashing for an eye-watering $3,000,000. The online felt would not afford him the same run-good this time, and he missed out on making the Day 2 of the $150,000 GTD Texas PKO.

“Farrugia_1” Crushes Festival Online High Roller for $14,214
The Festival Online saw its High Roller PKO take place this weekend, being one of the most exciting majors in online poker this past Sunday. The $525 buy-in saw lots of talented online grinders flock to battle it out for the $40,000 guaranteed prizepool - this included the aforementioned high-stakes crusher Jerry “Perry Mejsen” Ödeen, who is all too familiar with fighting and winning high rollers on Sundays.
From 92 entrants, it was whittled down to just 9, and the final table would find a three-handed battle between Ödeen, Belarus’ “GoodStoryDMG” and Malta’s “Farrugia_1” - the latter might be familiar to you after they took down the 888poker WPTDeepStacks London $100,000 PKO.
The Malta online grinder likes PKO formats after winning the WPTDeepStacks event for $18,067 and outlasting a final table that included 888poker ambassador Vivian “vivi.888.” Saliba.
The three-handed Festival Online battle saw Ödeen bust first for $5,317, and “Farrugia_1” made light work of the Belarusian “GoodStoryDMG in heads-up after the latter went out for $6,276. For reference, in how dominant this display was from the Maltese poker player, the next biggest bounty came in at $2,218.25.
