A 2-For-1 Special: WPT Global Puts a $50K Tournament on the Schedule

October is usually the month when poker rooms start coming out with their yearly take on Halloween — WPT Global, however, seems to have skipped straight to Black Friday.

On October 1, the poker room introduced a 2-For-1 Tournament — a second $5.50 entry into its nightly $50,000 guaranteed PKO for the price of one. And while that promotion is available throughout October, Canadian players have another addition on the calendar: an exclusive Thanksgiving campaign featuring up to $250 in rewards, a $5,000 freeroll and an enhanced welcome offer.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves, here’s what’s happening at WPT Global this October.

WPT Global’s 2-For-1: Two Entries for the Price of One

A $5.50 buy-in for a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool was an enticing proposition to begin with. The fact that WPT Global decided to throw in another entry for the same price makes it all the more interesting.

The October 2-For-1 Tournament is a nightly Progressive Knockout (PKO) event, scheduled for 22:00 (UTC+8). Every qualifying cash buy-in earns players a free $5.50 ticket, which can be used to enter the same tournament on a future night.

The promotion began on October 1 and will continue until WPT Global decides to end it.

The most important part of the fine print for this one is that the first buy-in must be made using cash. Both entries and re-entries qualify, although players can receive only one free ticket per nightly tournament.

Canadian Players Get Their Own Thanksgiving Promotions

While the 2-For-1 Tournament takes care of the regular nightly schedule, WPT Global has also put together a separate October campaign reserved for Canadian players.

The Thanksgiving promotion revolves around three rewards: a deposit-based package worth up to $250, a $5,000 freeroll and an enhanced Casino Coin welcome deal for new depositors.

Up to $250 in Thanksgiving Rewards

The biggest lump of this Thanksgiving promotion revolves around one qualifying deposit made between October 6 and 16 (EST).

Depending on the size of that deposit, Canadian players can qualify for rewards worth up to $50, $150 or $250, distributed through Casino Coins and Global Spins. Here is what that looks like:

Highest Qualifying DepositMaximum Reward Value
$50–$149$50
$150–$249$150
$250 or more$250

Following the logic laid out above, WPT Global is using the player’s highest qualifying deposit during the promotional period to determine their reward tier.

The rewards aren’t distributed all at once, though. Players must log into their accounts daily from October 17–27 (EST) to unlock them gradually. If you plan on receiving the entire Thanksgiving package, you need to log in on all 11 days.

A $5,000 Thanksgiving Freeroll on October 18

The other side of the Thanksgiving coin is a poker freeroll.

WPT Global scheduled a $5,000 Thanksgiving Freeroll for October 18 at 4 PM (EST), with tickets awarded according to a similar logic to the one just above — based on qualifying deposits made between October 6 and 16.

The $5,000 prize pool will be distributed among the top 70 finishers, with the first place finisher receiving a package worth $500, comprising $390 in Casino Coins and a $110 MTT ticket.

Second place is worth $450, while third place receives $400. The rewards gradually trickle down through the field, with places 61–70 collecting $10 Global Spins tickets.

An Enhanced Welcome Offer for New Canadian Depositors

On one final note, WPT Global is extending the Thanksgiving campaign to eligible new depositors through an enhanced version of its existing Casino Coin welcome offer.

Players making their first qualifying deposit of at least $10 between October 6 and 27 (EST) can receive additional Casino Coins depending on their deposit amount.
