FULL REVIEW - Unibet Poker (7.47)
Due to U.S. legislation preventing credit card companies from collecting payments for wagers made by U.S. residents, Unibet Poker has determined to suspend all real-money gaming business in the United States.
Unibet Poker is one of the more well known European poker rooms, starting out on the 24hPoker network before switching to Microgaming in 2006 and consolidating the player base.
Overall, Unibet Poker and the Microgaming network have good game variety, a good range of table limits and some very attractive promotions, although the network in general seems more focused on other gambling forms than poker.
Unibet Poker also doesn’t have much above and beyond what any other Microgaming skin has, except for maybe live chat and the multilingual support - but those aren't always active.
That being said though, what it does provide poker-wise is quite adequate and will meet most players’ basic needs.
The software provides very useful stats, three different table sizes (large, normal and mini view), and is quite stable and reliable. The software and support comes in several different languages, including English, Swedish, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.
Unibet Poker also run plenty of special promotions, including a nice bad beat jackpot and its own Unibet Poker Open held in various locales around Europe.
Games offered are Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo, Five-Card Draw and Razz.
Real-money player statistics as of November 2009 show 2,000 ring-game players at peak hours and 10,000 tournament players at peak hours.
