Game Variety (8)
Game offered are Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi and Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud Hi and Hi-Lo, H.O.R.S.E., Razz and Blackjack.
No-Limit, Limit and Pot-Limit are offered in Hold'em, and Pot-Limit and Limit are offered in both Omaha variants.
Ring Game Traffic (7)
Since the merge with Absolute Poker, ring-game traffic at Ultimate Bet is essentially twice what it was before. It's still somewhat concentrated to low-stakes No-Limit Hold’em, but it's much easier to find a game at off hours than it used to be.
Most players will find action at the game they're looking for, with cash-game traffic at 2,100 real-money players at peak hours as of November 2009.
Soft Competition (7)
Competition at Ultimate Bet ranges from relatively loose at the micro- and low-limits to outright fierce at the high and ultra-high stakes. In general, the competition is tougher than standard and the high-stakes Hold'em and Omaha games are the toughest.
No-Limit games aren't as tough, but still a bit more difficult than an average online poker room. Players looking for softer games should consider lower-stakes Omaha and No-Limit Hold'em games where many players start out.
Rake (7)
Rake caps are in line with the industry at 5% and there is a standard "no flop, no drop" policy.
Tournaments have a flat buy-in charge of 10% for all levels except for the $1 events, which are free, and at the $100 events and above, where the charge gets smaller by a few percent as buy-in goes up ($9 for 100, 15 for 200, etc).
In heads-up tournaments, there is a 5% charge.
Support (9)
Ultimate Bet offers support only via e-mail, but the quality and speed are very good and support staff are friendly and helpful.
Financial Security (9)
After some major, well-known issues in the past, security is now very good. The new parent company behind Ultimate Bet is very reputable, and all financial transactions are handled correctly and securely.

Deposit options: VISA, MasterCard, ukash, Click2Pay, ClickandBuy, bank wire, check by mail, Moneybookers, Paysafe card, Neteller, U.K. debit cards and e-checks.
