Ultimate Bet Detailed Information

Game Variety (7)

Game variety is very good, with Hold'em, Omaha Hi and Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud Hi and Hi-Lo, Pineapple, 2-7 Triple Draw and A-5 Triple Draw. Also offered is the more unusual Royal Hold'em, where deuces through nines have been removed from the deck but the game plays as Hold'em.

No-Limit, Limit and Pot-Limit are offered in Hold'em, and Pot-Limit and Limit are offered in both Omaha variants. Heads-up tables are available in Hold'em, Omaha, Seven-Card Stud, 2-7 Triple Draw and A-5 Triple Draw.

Ultimate Bet was also the first to introduce Pineapple, a variation of Hold'em where you get three hole cards and have to discard one card after the flop. There are also certain "kill games" in which a consecutive winner of two big qualifying pots has to post a forced blind that is twice the big blind.

Ring Game Traffic (7)

Ring-game traffic at Ultimate Bet is quite good. It's somewhat concentrated to low-stakes No-Limit Hold’em, but players are sure to find action at any game they are looking for. Ultimate Bet has cash-game traffic of 2,100 real-money players at peak hours as of (November 2008).

Soft Competition (8)

The competition at Ultimate Bet ranges from relatively loose at the micro- and low-limits to outright fierce at the high and ultra-high stakes. In general, the competition is tougher than standard and the high-stakes Hold'em and Omaha games are the toughest.

No-Limit games aren't as tough, but still clearly more difficult then at average online poker rooms. PokerListings recommends players looking for softer games to consider lower-stakes Omaha and No-limit Hold'em games where many players start out.

Rake (7)

The rake at Ultimate Bet is somewhat less attractive than the average in the industry, at least when it comes to lower-limit games. The rake caps are in line with the industry at 5%, but the drop is taken at more frequent intervals, which results in a higher effective rake.

The maximum rake for shorthanded games, however, is capped lower than at many other rooms. Moreover, at the heads-up and three-player tables, there is a very low cap. Tournaments have a flat buy-in charge of 10% for all levels except for the $1 events, which are free, and the $100 events, where the charge is 9%. In heads-up tournaments, there is a 5% charge.

Support (7)

Ultimate Bet offers support only via e-mail, but the quality and speed are very good and support staff are friendly and helpful.

Financial Security (8)

Very good. The company behind Ultimate Bet is very reputable, and we are confident that all financial transactions will be handled correctly and securely.
