SCOOP 2016: Schwartz Strikes Early, Deeb Snags Two FTs
The 2016 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker is off and running with a couple of well-known online stars already finding success.
Earlier today Luke “lb6121” Schwartz, who you might know as “FullFlush”, outlasted 144 players and then out-dueled Russian whiz Vladimir “vovtroy” Troyanovskiy heads-up to win SCOOP-06-H Omaha Hi-Lo Progressive Bounty for $32k plus $19k in bounties.
According to the official SCOOP stats it was Schwartz’ fifth title, which puts him one behind Calvin Anderson’s record six SCOOP bracelets.
Deep Crushing Early
Shaun Deeb is up to his old tricks in the 2016 SCOOP as he’s already recorded two final tables.
Deeb final tabled both the high and low versions of SCOOP-03 NL Draw. He finished fifth in the high version to take home $7,650 and then sixth in the low version to add another $995.
Deeb is currently tied with Schwartz for five SCOOP titles but he also has three WCOOP wins. Both Calvin Anderson and Deeb have eight COOP titles overall.
Interestingly Vladmir “vovtroy” Troyanoskiy also finished placed fourth in SCOOP-03-H, which means he’s definitely among the early contenders for the SCOOP leaderboard as well.
With over 55 events and $40m in guaranteed prize pools there’s still a ton more poker to be played in this year’s SCOOP.
