Sahamies Snaps Cold Streak, Wins $143k
Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies finally recorded a significant win in the high-stakes games last night.
Prior to last night the embattled Finnish pro had been bleeding cash at a disturbing rate in 2012 and was down $1.2 million on PokerStars.
Sahamies fought back last night and through 981 hands of $50/$100 PLO made off with $143k in profit.
There were no easy games as Sahamies had to deal with fellow pros Ronny “1-ronnyr3” Kaiser, Phil “takechip” D’Auteuil, Benny “toweliestar” Spindler and Vaga_Lion all day.
It helped that Sahamies secured the biggest pot of the night – a $47k whopper – when he rivered a nut-flush against Ronny Kaiser, who had the second nut-flush.
Kaiser still found a way to pull off a win last night and finished with $80k in profit, good enough for third on the cash game leaderboards. Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky just edged him out for second place with $81k.
PimpyLimpy was fourth with $58k while Ben “milkybarkid” Grundy continued his red-hot run by adding another $47k to his already considerable bankroll.
D’Auteuil was the biggest donator last night as he took some serious beats in the 6-Max games that included Sahamies and Benny Spindler.
D’Auteuil lost a total of $88k before finally waving the white flag and calling it a night.
After winning $800k last year, D’Auteuil hasn’t had the greatest start to 2012 and after last night is down $143k.
Isaac “philivey2694” Haxton got into serious trouble last night when he took on Sauce123 in No-Limit Hold’em. In just under 500 hands Haxton lost $86k.
IFiNishfish (-$75k), Vaga_Lion (-$62k) and ZeeJustin (-$54k) all made their way into the top five losers department.
