Scott Fischman
- Name: Scott Fischman
- Nickname: emptyseat88
- Current Residence: Las Vegas, Nev.
- Born: 1980
- Birth Place: Langhorne, Pa., United States
- Poker Room: Full Tilt Poker
Scott Fischman first started playing poker when he moved to Las Vegas in 1992. He was introduced to the game by the grandson of a former WSOP champion, and loved it so much he became a professional dealer as soon as he turned 21. He had been dealing for just one year at The Mirage when he developed rheumatoid arthritis, and although that problem prevented him from continuing to deal cards, he has had little difficulty making it as a pro poker player.
Scott took part in his first pro tournament in January of 2004, placing fourth in the Grand American Poker Classic in Tunica, Mississippi. Since then, he has gone on to make nine final tables, including those of the Orleans Open, the World Series of Poker and the Mirage Poker Showdown. His victories at the WSOP were all the more impressive given that he scored them against two all-time greats, Joe Awada and John Cover.
Scott's exuberant personality makes him a natural for televised games; he has been seen on ESPN throwing himself atop the table and kissing the cash he just won. His stellar rise has attracted the attention of many illustrious people, including Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck and Annie Duke.
Scott's success at poker has further earned him a spokesman position for the poker-inspired clothing line "I'm All In Wear." He writes articles for Card Player Magazine, and has been featured in the Poker Exchange's how-to video of advice on playing poker.
When asked about Scott, Nolan Dalla, media director of the WSOP, said, "Make no mistake - Fischman can flat-out play, and his poker abilities were proven when he won one of the most challenging WSOP events of all - the H.O.R.S.E. tournament. Winning such an event requires the unique talent to play all games."
