Chalk another one up for Mustapha Kanit.

The Italian outlasted a very tough 70-entry field in the EPT Dublin $25,000 High Roller to earn a hefty €501,640 this weekend.

Kanit was the overwhelming chip leader heading to the final table and he didn’t let up one bit going wire-to-wire.

The final table included noted pros Charlie Carrel, Ivan Luca, Chance Kornuth, Jeff Rossiter and Nick Petrangelo.

Kornuth Makes Huge Comeback to Finish Second

The final table got off to a roaring start with Luca and Petrangelo both busting in the first three hands.

Action slowed a bit from there but it wouldn’t be that much longer before Keith Johnson and Jeff Rossiter also hit the rail.

Kanit still had a massive stack going into five-handed play and played the bully role to perfection. He managed to bluff Anton Bertilsson off pocket queens in a big hand.

Bertilsson busted shortly after that to Kornuth in fourth place.

Meanwhile Carrel, who won a PokerListings Spirit of Poker Award last year, couldn’t get past Kanit, finally falling with A-4 to JJ.

That led to a talkative heads-up battle between Kanit and Carrel but in the end Kanit simply was not going to be denied.

Kanit put even more distance between himself and everyone else on the all-time Italian winners list with a total of $5.4m. He now leads Max Pescatori by over $1m.

EPT Dublin continues today with Day 1b of the Main Event and the single-day $10k High Roller.
