Lock Poker is much more than just another skin on the Merge Poker Network.
The site benefits from having arguably the most stylish design of any site on the network along with value-packed promotions and features the competition is missing.
Players have access to the standard Merge capabilities like multi-tabling and numerous poker variants in addition to exclusive extras like the detailed stats dashboard with a special “vault” feature that lets you lock up a certain percentage of your bankroll and guard it with a four-digit PIN.
Lock Poker also includes some fantastic standard features like a tab-based interface in the lobby for multi-tabling and fully resizable tables.
As with all sites on the Merge network, Lock Poker offers a very impressive selection of games from No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, Seven-Card Stud and even Five-Card Draw in both high and low versions.
Lock Poker also has a team of pros that includes up-and-comers Eric “Rizen” Lynch, Matt Stout, Brett Jungblut and Jason Young.
Traffic is decent on Lock Poker and there are always tournaments starting although it’s much easier to find lower-stakes ones. It’s worth noting that play is considerably worse on Lock Poker than some of the major sites.
Bottom line, If you’re looking to try something new it’s a great time to get locked into Lock Poker.

Tournaments and Freerolls
Tournament players will find plenty to keep them busy on Lock Poker.
As with most sites the most popular tournaments are low-stakes Sit & Goes with those kicking off at least every minute.
The biggest weekly tournament is the Sunday $109 buy-in $50k Guaranteed, which usually attracts hundreds of runners.
Lock Poker also runs a variety of satellites into live events. Aussie Millions qualifiers seem to be particularly popular.
There aren’t as many freerolls on Lock Poker as some sites but if you look hard there are definitely some opportunities to make something from nothing.

Software and Graphics
Lock Poker’s graphics are truly a highpoint of the site.
Clad in a stylish black and grey theme the lobby and tables give players a VIP experience.
Fortunately the site is also devoid of clutter and the lobby is simple and intuitive.
The software package is very compelling with multiple table views, avatars, stats, completely re-sizable tables, a variety of betting options and a blackjack game that can be run in the client.
The poker games offered are another high point with Hold’em, PLO, PLO Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Five-Card Stud, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo, Razz, Five-Card Stud, Five-Card Draw, Triple Draw, Badugi, HORSE, HA and SHOE available.
Lock Poker also offers LockREPLAY, which is an exceptional hand-replayer that is integrated directly into the player dashboard.
About the only issue we’ve encountered with the software is that sometimes Omaha hands are difficult to see if you have too many tables open and one is near the top of your screen.
Other than that it’s very difficult to find much fault in the Lock Poker software.

Soft Competition
If you’re looking for loose action Lock Poker is a great place to start.
Finding the right table on Lock Poker is like finding an ATM that spits out money. Some of the plays we’ve seen on the site range from bizarre to downright terrible.
If you know basic hand rankings it seems you’re ahead of the curve on Lock Poker. That’s not to say everyone is bad on the site. The higher-stakes games are obviously more difficult but even in those games there are spots that can be profitable.
