Day 3 Live Updates
It's Over! - Andreas Hoivold is Champion!
In just the second hand of heads-up play Cristiano Blanco pushed all-in and got an insta-call from Andreas. Turning over pocket queens to Blanco's 9♦ T♥, he was in great shape to end the tournament then and there. A queen on the flop put Hoivold way ahead and Cristiano was unable to stage a comeback. With that hand Cristiano is out in second and Andreas Hoivold is crowned champion! Blanco takes down €380,000 for runner-up and Andreas receives €672,000 for the win!
Ruthenberg Out
Sebastian Ruthenberg succeeded in doubling up once before being eliminated by Andreas Hoivold. They both saw a flop of 5-5-7 and got all the money in the middle. Andreas had 5-9 for trips and Ruthenberg was drawing slim with A-4 for the inside straight draw. The board failed to deliver fo him though and he is out in third place, taking home €220,000.
Sebastion Crippled!
Seabastian Ruthenberg has been absolutely crippled after doubling up Andreas Hoivold in the last hand. It began with Andreas opening to $140,000 from the small blind and getting a call from Seb in the big blind. The flop came 2♦ 3♠ T♥ and Hoivold bet $200k. Seb called and the turn was the 9♠. Andreas bet out $500k and Seb pushed all-in. It was a quick call from Hoivold who turned over pocket kings. Ruthenberg's A♠ 5♠ needed some help and was looking for a four for the straight, any spade for the flush or an ace. None of those many outs hit though as the river brought an eight. Sebastian is crippled down to just over $100k.
Pot for Sebastian
On a board of K♠ 7♥ A♠ A♥ 5♠, Cristiano Blanco took a stab at the pot but got looked up by Seb who was holding K-J. Blanco had nine high and was forced to ship over a few chips.
Chip Counts: The Quicker Picker Upper
Here they are, in all their glory:
| Seat 1: | Andreas Hoivold: | $2.2 million |
| Seat 2: | Sebastian Ruthenberg: | $1.8 million |
| Seat 3: | Cristiano Blanco: | $1 million |
More of the Same
Cristiano raises to $200,000 from the button and both players get out of the way.
Blanco All-In
Andreas Hoivold raises from the button and after Sebastion Ruthenberg folds, Cristiano Blanco moves all-in. The raise is around $750,000 more back to Andreas and he goes into the tank to think it through. Eventually folding his hand he concedes the pot to Blanco.
Gunnar Out of Ammo
Gunnar Rabe has been cut down shortly after the massive meltdown he sufferred not long ago. Pushing all-in two hands in a row he got a call from Andreas Hoivold on the second. Andreas, having only looked at one card before making the call, turned over an ace and a nine which were in a race agains the pocket deuces of Rabe. The flop came 5♥ 5♣ 4♦, giving Hoivold a few more outs, and the the turn was the J♦. Rabe needed to dodge a four, jack, nine or ace but the 9♥ on the river paired up Andreas and sent Gunnar packing. Rabe will receive $169,000 for this fourth place finish.
Level Up
A new level has arrived and with the exception of Gunnar's downfall there hasn't been a ton of action to speak of. With blinds of $30,000/$60,000 and an ante of $5k, that's all going to change.
Euro-Donkstrikery!!!!!11

Wow, I don't know if Gunnar Rabe just suffered some sort of brain malfunction but something must have happened to explain his behavior in this hand. Gunnar opened the pot to $125,000 and Sebastion smooth-called to see a flop of 4♠ A♠ T♦. Seb checked and Gunnar led out with $120k. Ruthenberg check-raised to $260,000 and Rabe called.
The turn was the 8♠ and Seb led out with $400k. Gunnar calls and the river is the 5♠. Seb checks and Gunnar immediately goes all-in. Seb calls rather reluctantly and turns over pocket eights for the set as if he's already lost the hand. Gunnar, however, turns over Q-T with no spade for second pair! Sebastion feels like he's hit the lottery as he rakes in a $2 million pot.

A Pot for Italy
Gunnar Rabe opened with a big raise to $340k from the button and when it got back to Cristiano Blanco in the big blind he re-raised all-in. It was $670,000 back to Rabe and although he thought about it for some time, trying to talk himself into a call, he eventually folded and conceded the pot.
Sebastian is Bach!
After pushing all-in last hand and getting no action, Sebastian Ruthenberg found himself all-in with Andreas Hoivold on this one. Andreas opened to $125,000 and Seb re-popped all-in. It was a total of $517,000 and after a few moments Andreas made the call. It was pocket jacks for Ruthenberg in a race against Hoivold's K♦ Q♠. Andreas picked up a flush draw on the turn but that was as close as he would get. With that hand Sebastian is up to just over $1 million.

Another break is here and the players have fifteen minutes to gather their strength for the rest of the match. When we get back the blinds will be on the way up.
Sebastion Speaks Up
We haven't heard much tonight from the usually active Sebastion Ruthenberg but in the last few hands he managed to get our attention and pick up a few chips in the process. Moving all-in pre-flop once and scooping the blinds and antes and then pushing Cristiano and Gunnar out after the flop on the next hand, Seb is increasing his stack bit by bit.
Lock and Load
Chip leader Gunnar Rabe has been dominating as of late and took down another nice one just now. Sebastion Ruthenberg, in what seems like the first hand he's played tonight, raised to $110,000 and gets calls from Rabe as well as Andreas Hoivold. The flop comes 8♥ J♠ 7♥ and it's checked around. The turn is the A♣ and Ruthenberg bets out $140,000. Rabe immediately raises to $600k and Hoivold mucks. Ruthenberg thinks for a second before folding his hand as well.
Huge Pot for Rabe
It's folded to Cristiano Blanco in the small blind who limps and Gunnar Rabe, in the big blind, makes it $100,000 to go. Blanco calls and the flop comes 9♦ 3♥ 3♣. Blanco checks and Rabe bets out $80k. Blanco check-raises to $180,000. Gunnar calls and the turn is the A♠. Cristiano throws in $180k more and Gunnar calls. The river is the 4♣ and both players check. Blanco turns over 9-7 for second pair but Rabe has pocket kings which are good for the win. Gunnar rakes in a pot of more than $900,000 and is now sitting on about $2.35 million.
Jacob Laddered
The action has been slow as of late but it got going with a bang in this hand. Andreas Hoivold opened to $106,000 from the button and Jacob Rasmussen moved all-in from the small blind. The big blind mucked and it was a showdown. J-Q for Jacob was way behind Hoivold's pocket kings and when the board had come 7♠ T♥ 3♦ 3♥ J♦, Rasmussen is outta here. He takes home €139,000 for this fifth place finish.
Slow Your Roll
The action has slowed to a crawl at the final table as of late with three walks in a row being the highlight. Someone order these fellows some shots!
Blind Up
This level is over and the new blinds are $20k/$40k with an ante of $4,000.
Nice One for Gunnar
The two big stacks at the table, Gunnar Rabe and Cristiano Blanco, got involved in a hand and it was Rabe who would be raking in the chips when it was over. They saw a flop of A♦ Q♠ T♦ and Blanco led out for $70,000. Gunnar made the call and the turn was the 6♠. Blanco led out again, this time for an even $100k, and Gunnar quickly popped it to $220,000 total. Blanco went into the tank but eventually folded the hand. Rabe showed just a queen as he raked the pot, somehow I don't think he just had a pair though!
Lindberg Kidnapped
Erik Lindberg has been eliminated in 6th place after losing an all-in confrontation with Cristiano Blanco. Lindberg was the one to shove pre-flop and after a bit of time spent in the tank, Blanco made the call and turned over pocket sixes. It was a race with Erik holding K♣ J♣ going to the flop. A♠ 9♠ 5♠ gave Erik a few more outs but when the turn and river came 7♦ 3♥ he is eliminated with his chips getting shipped across to Blanco. Lindberg will take home €109,000 for his efforts.
Big Pot for Hoivold
Andreas Hoivold took down a pot of close to half a million chips after winning a showdown with Cristiano Blanco. Andreas opened to $77k and got a call from Blanco in the big blind and the flop came 5♦ 5♣ 4♠. Blanco checked and Andreas bet out $90,000. Cristiano made the call and the turn was the Q♥. Both players checked and the river was the 8♦. Blanco led out with a bet of $100k and after only a few minutes Andreas called. They turned over their hands and it was Hoivold ahead with K-Q for top pair. Cristiano had nothing but ace high.
Pot for Lindberg
Andreas Hoivold raised from the small blind and Erik Lindberg, in the big blind, moves all-in. Hoivold thinks for a few seconds before mucking and Erik pulls in the chips.

Levi Torn
After a long period without an elimination to start this final table we've had two in rapid succession. Both of France's hopes were dashes, first Thomas Fougeron and now Nicolas Levi. Levi open-shoved for $216 from under the gun and got a call from Cristiano Blanco. Gunnar Rabe, next to act, surprised everyone by coming over the top and moving all-in himself. It was back to Blanco and although he already had a ton invested in the hand he folded pocket eights face-up. Gunnar turned over A-K which had Levi's K-Q in terrible shape. The board came 3♣ 5♣ J♣ A♠ Q♦ and Levi is sent to the rails in seventh place for €85,700.
Fougeron Gunned Down
Thomas Fougeron is the first casualty of tonight's final table after trying to put a move on Gunnar Rabe and getting looked up. They saw a flop of 6♥ A♣ 8♦ and both players checked but after the turn brought the 6♣, Thomas moved all-in. "You can't have an ace, I have to call," said Gunnar as he pushed the chips into the middle. WHen the cards were turned over we say Thomas had been raising extremely light with Q-T for queen high. Rabe had called with 8♣ 9♣ for second pair and Thomas needed to pair up for the win. The river was the 3♣ however and the Frenchman is out in 8th place. He will take home €60,300.
Gunnar Doubles
Gunnar Rabe has doubled through Andreas Hoivold. Rabe opened and Hoivold quickly announced all-in. Gunnar called immediately and turned over pocket sevens. Andreas rather sheepishly turned over 6♥ 8♥ and it was Gunnar leading to the flop. The board came 3♣ T♣ 3♥ 2♠ J♠ and Rabe doubles.

Erik Lindberg raises to $60,000 from the cut-off and Jacob Rasmussen re-raises all-in. After a bit of thought Erik lets it go and concedes the pot.

Huge One for Jacob
Jacob Rasmussen has been struggling with a shortstack for the last few levels but managed to nearly double up in this hand against Gunnar Rabe. Gunnar and Jacob saw a flop of 3♣ 2♦ A♣ and checked it. The turn was the Q♣ and after a check from Jacob, Rabe threw in a bet of $60,000. Rasmusson smooth-called, surprisingly since it represented a large part of his stack, and the river was the A♠. Jacob bet out a measly $16,000 and was quickly re-raised to $96k total. In the tank for a few minutes, Jacob eventually opted to just call and turned over pocket kings. He had made a great read since Gunnar was on a stone bluff with $5d-6♦.
Wicked Chop
In the first showdown of the final table we saw Cristiano Blanco open the pot and get a call from Gunnar Rabe. The flop came A♥ J♥ A♦ and Blanco bet out $11k. Rabe called and the Q♦ hit the turn. Both players check and the river is the 7♦. Gunnar makes a miniscule bet of $5,000 and gets a call from Blanco. They both turn over aces with weak kickers and it's a chop pot.
Blanco vs. Levi
In the first confrontation of the night we saw Nicolas Levi open the pot to $45k and get re-raised to $150,000 by Cristiano Blanco. When the action got back around to Levi he thought for a few moments before throwing his cards into the muck.
First Few Hands
The first few hands of final table play have gone by without any action to speak of. Gunnar Rabe has picked up one set of blinds and antes, as has Cristiano Blanco. On the last hand Thomas Fougeron moved all-in and got no callers, picking up what was in the middle.

Philip Yeh, PokerListing's horse in the media side-betting pool, has been eliminated in tenth place. Despite starting the day second in chips he found himself on the shortstack by the second level. Philip shoved from late position and got a call from Andreas Hoivold in the small blind. It was K♦ T♦ for Yeh up against A-6o for Hoivold. The ace held up past the river and Philip is gone. He is the first to earn €37,100.
Muecklisch Done
Micheal Meucklisch has been eliminated in tenth place after being absolutely crippled by Cristiano Blanco. The hand began with Micheal raising to $55,000 from the button and getting a call from Blanco. The flop came 7♣ 2♦ 4♥ and both players checked. The turn was the 2♥ and Muecklisch bet $80k. Cristiano made the call and the river was the 7♥.
A $125k bet from Blanco was followed by an all-in raise by Micheal, the total of which was $370,000. It was an insta-call for Blanco and the players rolled their cards. K♥ 6♥ for Cristiano was enough to beat the lower J♥ 8♥ flush of Muecklisch. Crippled to less than one big blind, Micheal was gone in the next hand, taking €27,800 with him.
