Isildur1 wins another $1.2 million
It was another night of heavy action Wednesday as Isildur1 sat heads-up against Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Patrik Antonius and Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies.
Isildur1's night started with a couple hundred hands of six-max $300/$600 Pot-Limit Omaha with, among others, Dwan, howisitfeellike and trex313.
After making over $392k, Isildur1 logged off the six-max tables to focus on a few $500/$1,000 PLO heads-up matches.
Dwan, who is in the middle of a seven million dollar downswing, lost another $655k to Isildur1 over 892 hands.
But Antonius had even worse luck than Dwan, losing the largest pot of the night ($551k) when his single-suited aces got cracked by Isildur1's flopped two pair.
By the end of the 1,500-hand session Antonius had lost over $1.6 million to the unknown Swedish player.
Unlike Antonius and Dwan, Sahamies turned the tables on Isildur1 winning the second, third and fourth largest pots of the night, all worth over $400k.
After 597 hands, Sahamies had won $1.4 million, effectively cutting in half Isildur1's profit from the other two matches.
But despite the beating he took from Sahamies, Isildur1 left the tables with another seven figure night in the books.
With this profit added to his roll, Isildur1 now sits around $1.5 million mark since showing up on the high-stakes scene just over five weeks ago.
Below are the largest pots from each of the heads-up matches. To see more hands re-played head to MarketPulse.

2009-11-27Dwan checking the turn there clearly shows how much confidence he has lost against the swede. In older times he would have fired out there......

2009-11-27I think Dwan checked the turn to try and make his flush. The way Isildur is so aggressive dwan knows even if he bets the turn most likely isildur calls or maybe even raises him which would cost dwan more cash to see if he makes the nut flush. Did you look at the hand above with zigmund? On the turn isildur ended up getting all his money in with no hand but the nut flush draw. Isildur is a super aggressive player who will end up going bust before years end. There just isn't enough "nosebleed" players out there and PA and Ivery are better then Isil. Just as fast as Isildur came onto the high stakes cash scene he will leave just as fast........and BROKE!!!!

2009-11-27Isildur in the hand you are refering too not only has the nut flush but he has a double gut shot on the turn. More outs than you think. Count them. But yeah... The old Dwan would've bet there.

2009-11-27I think durrrr has changed his game a little not just because of a confidence problem but because he feels that Isildur is better than him.
the old durrrr would have fired that turn (and nearly every other turn he played) and that strategy has not been working at all for him so mixing it up might be the right thing to do (not saying checking here is optimum)
people keep saying that durrrr is on a 'downswing' which normally implies he is running bad/feeling the cold side of variance, but to consistently be losing so much against one player is more than just a variance thing. Durrrr has finished in the black in like 2 sessions since the start of the month i think?

2009-11-28I think isil is here to stay , just see his omaha game has improved the last 3 weeks. Red pros thought they would get easy money on the omaha games but he has sharpen up and still gunning.

2009-11-29Dwan checked the turn because he intended to check-raise Isildur. He figured Isildur would fire again on the turn, and with the nut flush draw, Dwan was going to semi-bluff. If you watch a lot of these hands with these huge pots, that's how they usually play their draws.
