Isildur1 takes another $674k from durrrr
In what's quickly becoming one of online poker's biggest rivalries, Tom "durrrr" Dwan took on Isildur1 again last night. But once again, he was unable to turn a profit.
After losing $137k playing $500/$1,000 heads up No-Limit Hold'em against DjAdi, Dwan changed games to play $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha against Isildur1, the one player he can't seem to beat.
The action began almost immediately as Dwan won a $190k pot just five hands in. After that the two players traded $100k plus pots for the duration of the 546 hand session.
Dwan managed to take down the largest pot of the session, worth $402k, after flopping the case ace to give him three of a kind. For good measure, Dwan hit the nut flush on the river to lock up the $402k.
After this pot Dwan proceeded to lose the next five largest pots, all worth over $272k, and almost any hope of coming out of the match with a profit.
In the end of the hour long session, Dwan chose to eat the $674k loss and wait for another day to make his comeback.
Including his loss to DjAdi, Dwan ended the night down another $811k, putting his losses for the year at nearly $6 million.

2009-11-24Durrr is a fish. His days of sucking out are done. He shoulda spent some of his temporary wealth getting surgery to change his annoying voice.
He reminds me of those redneck lotto winners. Someone who amassed too much money too quickly and then pissed it all away.
Nah, nah. Nah, nah, nah, Hey hey hey.
GOOD BYE

2009-11-23Greatest NL Holdem player ever? Are you serious, he's not even 30 yet, there are far better tournament pros, and then on the cash game side both Ivey and Antonius are better and that's just Holdem, there are so many other games that he is much weaker at.

2009-11-23The reason the durrr challenge isn't running is because there are better games for both players it has nothing to do with whether Dwan is bust. It makes more sense to pick easier games when they are around than play Antonius. Some people expected the challenge to go quite quickly but it is their own money, so why play each other if they can win enough against other people to cover losing the challenge. That makes the most sense in terms of bankroll.
Dwan should definitely stick to Holdem, but this is isildur's best game too so I don't think that solves the problem.

2009-11-22Don'f forget T.D. has been losing really big, in the live games he has been playing in this year. His bankroll has taken a big hit but he's not broke yet. If he keeps playing like he has lately he will go broke. PLO has not been kind to him this year. He tries to make to many big bluffs and tries to make hands on river. At 500/1000 you can try and make a hand off the flop, but putting in 100K calls to make your hand on the river is going to make you broke. I know he is well known for his suck outs but that only last for so long. I think he should go back to NLHE, this is his best game.

2009-11-22Don't forget that durrrr was up close to 4 mil on the year before he went on his losing streak. So he hasn't really cut into his "initial bank roll" as much as it looks like. His losses are large at the moment, but subsidized with his initial winnings, i don't think he is close to going broke....

2009-11-22you guys are silly. Durrrr has plenty of money. He won 8 million+ last year in hold em ALONE
That doesn't even count PLO or anything else.
He is taking quite the beating, but he has been talking about signing with team full tilt for quite a while. Rumored anyways.
He isn't even close to busting because durrr is a one of a kind player. He's possibly the greatest no limit hold em player ever. Don't worry about him busting until he swings down about 20mill which will never happen

2009-11-22His roll was estimated at around 7-9 million. But who nows how much he took out of his FT account. And he can always make a wire transfer deposit but if I were him I would not do that. You know his roll is in bad shape because he won't even play Patrik Antonious with his durrrr challenge. durrrr came across someone who has roothlus aggression like himself and is just winning the coin flips. Funny how in the middle of all his loses he finally signs on with Full Tilt. Prolly needed the $$
