Hunter becomes hunted: Hansen stalks OMGClayAiken

By: Arthur Crowson

Gus Hansen used to be the bread and butter of online wizards like Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond, but it's been a different story for the most part in 2009.

Last night the Great Dane and Galfond settled in for a session at nosebleed stakes on Full Tilt Poker, and it was indeed Hansen who saw the majority of the chips go his way. In fact Hansen won an impressive seven out of the 10 largest pots collected by MarketPulse.

Those hands represented $613,000 for Gustav, while Galfond and Hac "trex313" Dang took the brunt of the losses. Pot-Limit Omaha was the game of choice for all three players.

Galfond has had a particularly rough start to 2009, with losses rumored to be over $500,000.

In the biggest hand of the session Hansen was dealt A A J 2 while Galfond looked down to find 9 9 K Q. The flop came an action-heavy A 8 5 and it wasn't long before both players got it all-in to create a pot worth $142,000.

Meanwhile, in other high-stakes news, Tom Dwan continues to be a no-show for the durrrr Challenge, while Patrik Antonius was ready to play yesterday.

The poker community is buzzing with chatter on why the match hasn't begun yet. One theory has Dwan scared (unlikely) while another says the time difference between the two is the biggest problem (more likely).

Whatever happens, keep checking MarketPulse and PokerListings.com to get information on the biggest games in the world.

Who would have Gus'ed it?
