The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is like a thrilling high-stakes game of Mahjong where someone improbably manages to rob the kong in a stunning play.

You can always make suggestions for future 3-Bet pieces in the comments section below.

In today’s Daily 3-Bet we find at Chinese poker princess getting hard time, poker pros owing Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth with a minor blowup in the first WSOP episodes.

1) Chinese Poker Princess Sentenced to Five Years

Remember that Chinese “Poker Princess” who reminded many people of Dan Bilzerian with her lavish lifestyle all over social media?

She’s going to jail for five years.

According to the BBC Guo Meimei will serve five years in jail for running an illegal casino. She was also fined 50,000 yuan, which seems like a pittance for a person who once posted a photo of a 10-figure bank account balance.

The 24-year-old Meimei ran gambling operations out of private flats she rented in the capital. Meimei started running her game after meeting a high-stakes poker pro in Macau.

Gambling is illegal in China with the exception of Macau. Meimei admitted to gambling illegally but denied running the casino.

2) Daniel Negreanu Still Owed by Lucky You Co-Stars

So Daniel Negreanu was watching classic poker flick (not really) Lucky You last and posted this innocuous Tweet:

Daniel Negreanu 2015 WSOP Main Event Day 7 6
The collector?

We obviously don’t know the amounts owed to Negreanu but it’s a testament to the swingy nature of poker that a number of players in that movie have gone through very public financial difficulties.

Now it’s time to play detective. Here are the poker players listed in the Lucky You credits:

Sammy Farha
Chau Giang
Barry Greenstein
Jason Lester
Ted Forrest
Minh Ly
John Murphy
Erick Lindgren

We’re not going to make any guesses (we’ll leave that to you!) but Matt Savage already chimed in with one other Lucky You actor who owed money.

Apparently Negreanu himself owed Savage $500 for a Golden Tee bet. Fortunately Negreanu said he’d pay up right away!

3) Phil Hellmuth Takes Center Stage in First WSOP Episodes

It’s just not a WSOP without at least one spectacular, memorable Phil Hellmuth moment.

This year’s ESPN coverage of the WSOP Main Event gets it out of the way right away with Hellmuth once again sparring with young online poker players.

This time around Hellmuth goes head-to-head with Mukul Pahuja and Jae Kim. All-in-all it’s pretty entertaining. The WSOP is looking pretty solid too.
