ADZ124 Epic Life Story Part 3
Created By: PokerListings Posted in: Matt ADZ124 Marafioti's Blog, Cold Hard FactsMatt "ADZ124" Marafioti is back with the third installment of his poker life story. Be sure to catch up with Part 1 and Part 2 if you haven't already.
One night I was trying to chat up a girl from Argentina who didn’t really speak English, while playing 200/400 PLO for one orbit (not knowing a thing about the game).
In that first orbit I got a dry AA and made it $1,400, perkyshmerky raised to $4,400 and I made it $14,400, we ended up playing a $98k pot on 10-9-2 flop with 26k in the pot. He had K-J-T with a flush draw so I was in bad shape and lost.
That week cost me another $150 k total, the downswing now totaled $700,000 and was by far my biggest downswing yet at just 19 years old. I would say a good $250k was wasted on PLO alone.
From February to June I spoke to no one. I sat in my parents basement and grinded my ass off. $4k here $4k there, slow and steady. I built my rolls up to about $500k online but by the end of the year I felt my life was passing me by and wanted a girlfriend again.
I lent a friend $30k on stars and he lent me his $280,000 mercedes, seemed like a fair trade. He had Ferraris and every car you could imagine. Anyways, one day he left the country. He left the cars and everything else behind and stiffed me for my $30k totally out of the blue and got arrested at the border.
It turned out he was the guy who created the software that read your pin over the ATM machines. If you see him at the Commerce in LA or in Vegas let me know and I will reward you. His name is Patrick Khalifan.
I had to give the Mercedes back to the leasing company but I had this new girl I was trying to impress so I went out and bought an Aston Martin the next week.
I was paying less attention to poker and good 200/400 games were actually running at the time on Stars with Steve_Harris from Toronto playing a lot. I missed most of these games, then decided one night after a steak dinner it would be a good idea to two-table durrr at 100/200 Hold’em on Stars.
I lost $160,000 to him in an hour and a half in front of this guy I barely know. It was so pathetic.
I then decided to try and be all Hollywood and do this reality show with two other friends of mine who were willing to make a long term investment in it. They thought it was a good, unique idea. So did I.

2010-10-20Wow, you are really Patrick... you know Amer always told me you were coming back. Tell me the last letter of Amer's last name and I will make sure you get my e-mail. Wow, I am so amazed right now.... Patrick... Oh my GOD. And yes I believe that this happened, but they claimed to be doing this non sense because you owed Danny money and Amer even more. WOW. Amer said you were coming back... I never believed him though. Wow... I am totally amazed. I brought your car back to Steve Shessel who then tried to sell it to me the next week for a couple hundred thousand. That guy "Nick Gristak" or whatever called me and made me bring it back. Please e-mail me ... I will get you my public e-mail and post it here later today.

2010-10-20I don't talk to anyone from Toronto anymore, because when I left and got caught up at the border for different reasons than you've posted on your blog (having nothing to do with the past), everyone I knew took advantage of the situation and they went to my house and ransacked it my uncle took all the money I had in the Canadian bank because he was a signer on the account, couple of people took one of my cars each and I was told by someone (I don't remember who now) that you totaled my car that's why I lost my $45k deposit on it. Basically my being detained for 6 months at the border screwed me up really bad and I lost over $2 million. Anyway I don't want to air all this for the public to see. When you're in LA next time post about it and I will come and meet you at the commerce, or as a blogger I assume you should have a public email address post that and I will email you my info.

2010-10-20Who from Toronto that you're friends with can I ask for your e-mail since you are the real deal?
Patrick
2010-10-20You don't expect me to post it here do you? Why don't you post yours and I will email you

2010-10-20Is all of this stuff really true?

2010-10-20I do not have your e-mail address, so if you want to get it to me I would greatly appreciate that. It has only been 2 years since I have heard a word from you.

2010-10-20I will find out if this is the real Patrick first. Its not about being tough or not, its about being a just person. I am fair to people and I treat them the way they treat me. You left the country, with no notice, after I invited you into my old home, bought dinners for you, introduced you to my family, and showed you a tremendous amount of respect and trust. In return you betrayed me, never contacted me again, and if you really want to get a hold of me it is so easy to get my cell phone number. I am sure there are others in Toronto such as Danny Bellagio who would also like to speak with you. When you left Toronto, I was told immediately to bring your car back to the dealership, which I kept in perfect condition and took for washes and oil changes. I did so, and bought myself a new car. I was told you left the country, scammed us out of our money, and were never coming back. Amir still claims you are coming back to pay us. Tough guy huh. I am not a tough guy I am a powerful and well connected guy that does not let people stiff me for money that I slave over the computer working for countless hours to earn. If you are really interested in talking to me, and are who you say you are, lets chat on the phone and work out a reasonable agreement we are both satisfied with. To say you don't owe me money, and making up lies about totalling your car which was being auctioned off the next week, is just totally absurd. I value my life and only want to do good for others, while living a great life myself with luxury and extravagance that I have earned. I help people in every way I can. Sometimes clearly, people take advantage of this.
Patrick
2010-10-19I see that you've gotten used to talking a lot of tough shit. I see you challenging people to caged matches and shit, are you sure you're that guy? You sure you want to go the tough route? I know you have an image to uphold for your so called fans and buddies but take it easy with the tough talk. You should still have my email address it hasn't changed. In fact I use it to post messages on this forum so if you don't have it I'm sure you can get it from someone and email me details as to what exactly happened when I left.

2010-10-19Not only are you a total fraud, and a lying degenerate. But you were arrested at the border for scamming people out of their money--- you were the one who created the software that reads peoples pins at ATM machines. Do you think I need one penny from you? Because I don't. I just want the money you OWE to me and I will never speak with you again. I let you into my house etc and you left Toronto with the reputation of a stiff that you are which is why you can never come back. I never totalled your car it was brought back to the dealership in perfect condition, and they were selling it within a week later. Genius. Don't have time to entertain degenerates like you. Hope to run into you at the commerce. 30 grand WAS what you owed me two years ago, now its 48. My friends want to say hello too. Don't be shy. If you can somehow get me the 35 000 you owe me by January or even 25 of it, I will let this go and pretend it never happened. If you feel your getting old anyways so it doesn't really matter that's cool too. Just hope I don't catch you! I work hard for my money, not so degenerates like you can take it and run to the border with one scam after the other.

2010-10-19If you are in fact Patrick, please call or text me, you can get my cell phone from Amer. First of all. Second of all I did not total your SL 65 I brought it back to the Land Mark dealership and bought an Aston. Not my fault you ran away to the border and never found out what happened. We are no where near even and you should hope I don't run into you unless you have some money for me. The 30 grand you owed me is compounding for every year you don't pay me. Show your face stiff. See you in LA.
Patrick
2010-10-19If you're looking for me, my email hasn't changed. Yup it's Patrick!!! I heard that you totaled my SL65 so I would say that we're even on the 30k since they held my deposit of 45k on the car.

2010-10-13lol @ you calling ADZ busto ... i definately agree that sitting in at 200 400 plo is probably not the smartest move if you dont know how to play the game.. but i think he is trying to share his experiences with us and recognizes mistakes he's made as a youngster ... he would be retarded if he continued on this path, but if he learned and continued to win as much as he seems to... it shouldn't really matter in the long run
Drew
2010-10-13How is this an Epic Life Story? You just complain about losing and doing stupid shit that makes your bankroll busto. Never played PLO before? Don't sit in at the nosebleeds. I swear this kid is retarded.
