2009 November Nine: Kevin Schaffel
Created By: PokerListings.com Posted in: WSOP Blog, Tournament Trail
At 51, Kevin Schaffel's dream was to win the WSOP Main Event, retire and play more poker, Being sixth in chips at the Main Event final table, Schaffel might finally get that chance.
Coming from Florida, Schaffel, a father of two, has been playing poker seriously for over five years. Since 1994 he has made over $168k in tournament cashes with no wins.
Until now, his best cash came in the 1994 WSOP Main Event, finishing 42nd for $60k.
Thanks to the guaranteed minimum of a million dollars from making the final table, Schaffel will have much more time to indulge in his hobbies: golf, gin rummy and racquetball.
