TableTalk with PokerListings: #5 – Jeremy Becker: Winning Eight Daily Wynn Poker Tournaments in a Month
Everyone has the dream of packing up their bankroll and setting off for Vegas, whether you are a tournament grinder or cash game player. For the latest TableTalk episode, we got to talk to someone who did just that. Jeremy Becker took his bankroll, which he grinded playing in New York and Florida all the way to the bright lights of Las Vegas, and has not looked back for one second.
Since he started playing poker in 2015, Jeremy has grinded up an incredible 310 flows of cash and will aim to add to them this World Series of Poker. In recent months, part of those cashes are made up of an incredible run of poker wins at the Wynn, where Becker won eight daily tournaments at the Wynn poker room in just 30 days. It encapsulates a great run in Becker’s poker career as he heats up just before the hottest part of the poker calendar.
Living just ten minutes from the poker room will certainly help someone get into poker, especially when an incredibly soft $1/$1 $100 max game is running. While it is an obvious rake trap for poker players, it helped Jeremy get into the mix and find his footing in poker while working as a caddy outside of college.
He grinded his way up from $1/$1 to $1/$2, breaking through the $2/$5 and $5/$10 games before playing a consistent $5/$10/$20 game in Florida. When the pandemic hit in early-2020, Jeremy was locked out of the profitable live games he had been playing and returned to New York to be with his family. During this period, he would find tournaments, watch online grinders battle and begin to take notes.
Moving out West to Las Vegas is the dream for many poker players on the East Coast, a natural progression and the ‘make-or-break’ phase of each player’s poker dream. Becker met up with his friend Jacob Ferro, who has over $2 million in live poker tournament earnings and recently took down a WPT title at their old stomping ground in the Seminole Hard Rock.
It was tough for Jeremy to leap from Florida to Las Vegas, primarily as he enjoys the daily tournaments at the Hard Rock and raves about the tournament director Yi Li. For Jeremy, just like every aspiring poker grinder in the US, Vegas is the mecca and the big leagues of the game.
Jeremy talks about life as a poker tournament grinder in Las Vegas and how he scans the strip to find the best value outside the World Series of Poker. Whether looking at the multi-day options at the Venetian or the daily at the Wynn, there are many options for a poker grinder. It was the latter option where Becker would succeed, winning an incredible 8 daily tournaments in just a month. “People are coming for me. They’re like, “he can’t win again,” and they’re going to everything they can not to let me win another one!” said Jeremy.

After crushing the Wynn daily circuit and getting fame on social media, Daniel Negreanu caught wind of Becker’s success, saying, “Is this kid the next one?” Since then, Negreanu has been in conversations with Becker and five-time WSOP bracelet winner Josh Arieh to see if they can get Jeremy in some of the bigger WSOP tournaments on stake. “It’s for sure going to be a great experience, and I’m super excited. I don’t know if we’re going to fire the 25ks straight away, but whatever we agree to, I’m just super excited,” said Becker.
