Fond of Mathematical Calculations

Kelly Winterhalter was already from a young age fond of math and did not hold back for various mathematical calculations. Somewhat she enjoyed a lot, but it did not stop her from dropping out of college at a young age to gain more freedom for herself. She loved travelling around and exploring new things, so she took the risk and went for it. Psychology is also a big interest of her and let those two aspects now be perhaps the most important skillsets in poker nowadays.

At the age of 31, Kelly took her chances and went to sit down for a $3/$6 Limit Hold’em cash game, which showed her eventually that poker is not just about taking your chances, but that there is much more behind to succeed.

And being successful she knowns all about. Suddenly she decided that all the bad habits had to go out of the window, and she started to be a vegetarian, doing sports, and living a healthier life in general. When she had all this under control, she decided to pay more attention to what ingredients were all in skincare, as part of her new lifestyle. This led to her new adventure ‘Ellovi’ skincare. Being a successful entrepreneur, gave her the possibilities to follow her dreams, travelling around the world and combining it with poker.

Kelly Winterhalter - Ruthless Start of Her Poker Career

The poker career of Kelly Winterhalter kicked off by playing cash games, somewhat ruthless and before she had her own brand in skincare products, she used every bit of money she had to hit the tables. Learning poker and acheving her goals to become a very good player was het ambition, and by playing live tournaments she explored a whole new side of poker games. Cash games funded her tournaments, and the World Series of Poker became suddenly very close.

In 2014 Kelly noted her first cash in a WSOP Circuit event in Las Vegas, and her first cash resulted directly in a final table. She finished 8th in a $365 tournament and collected $1,512 for her efforts. A very promising start for her and she kept on setting results, including a 1st place in a $125 Daily event in the Aria Resort for $1,651, before she could tick off one thing of her bucket list, the real World Series of Poker. During the biggest tournament series of the year, she managed to cash in the $1,500 Monster Stack event for a reasonable min-cash.

You could potentially see her as a part-time entrepreneur and part-time poker player, but Kelly was really on the good way of becoming successful in followed her poker dream. A trip to Mexico, for playing the SCOOP on Pokerstars (Icequeen77) as a preparation for the next World Series. By playing online poker Kelly learned a lot about finding leaks in her game and improving them. A completely different side of poker is online poker, where usually players start first to play online and then hit the live felts, Kelly did the opposite. Off course mainly due to the online poker situation in the United States. In 2016, Pokerlistings had a little with Kelly during the WSOP.

Winterhalter vs Hellmuth

Cash games is what she likes, and it turned out she was being part of a poker show on TV called ‘’Poker Night in America’. Together with Phil ‘Poker brat’ Hellmuth she had a couple of interesting clashes, and it were those moments where she became famous with in the poker world.

Shortly after this she played another couple events of the WSOP of 2017, and after that there are no registered cashes anymore for Kelly Winterhalter. She does still play as per her social media, and she managed to get once more a seat at the pokershow ‘’Poker Night in America’’. Again, she played a couple of interesting hands. With the nickname ‘’Buffy the vampire-slayer’’, she does not hold back and is not afraid to make big decisions.

As we are not seeing any tournaments cashes of her lately, we are unsure if she is still showing her skills at the tables, but let us hope that soon enough we will hear more from her, so she can chase the one thing she wants in the life of poker: A golden Bracelet.
