Andrew Chen is a Canadian professional poker player who managed to earn over 5 million dollars throughout his career with live poker. With online poker on PokerStars alone, he managed to collect a total of $2,089,931, with a 2nd place in the Sunday Million in 2011 as his best result. Chen travels all over the world for poker, but surprisingly his best results he made in Europe.

Building up a CV in Live Poker

Already in 2008 Andrew Chen made his debut in the poker industry live circuit. It wouldn’t take long before he showed the world what he is capable of. During the European Poker Tour in Prague, he managed to become 3rd for $329,682, losing from two Italian players Massimo DI-Cicco and the winner Salvatore Bonavena. It would be one of his many cashes on European soil. Any poker fan who thinks back to the early poker days around 2010, they should know Andrew Chen, as he managed to become well-known by his adequate playing style.

He travels all over the world for poker and in 2009 he got close to collect his first bracelet at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, finishing 2nd in 2009 during a $1,500 event for $412,632 losing from German poker player Carsten Joh.

Back in Europe again, for the Grand Finale of the European Poker Tour he would just finish shy from the victory, becoming 5th for $532,509. The two top spots would have given him respectively 1,3 and 2,2 million dollars. Nicolas Chouity from Lebanon walked away with the trophy and the EPT title. A year later Chen would become winner of the PCA Bounty Shootout event, besting Shaun Deeb heads-up, collecting a quarter of a million for his efforts. The biggest ever cash of Andrew was during the record-breaking EPT in Berlin, finishing 2nd for $801,391, losing the last battle against Belgium super star Davidi Kitai

Deserved Victory During His Favorite European Poker Tour

In October 2014 during the European Poker Tour in London, Andrew Chen would finally be the one to raise the trophy in the air, by winning the 10K High Roller for $627,647. A tournament where many big names couldn’t fight against the power of Chen, names such as Victoria Coren Mitchell (11th), Johnny Lodden (10th), Niall Farrell (9th) and Jorryt van Hoof (8th).

A month later, during the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam, Chen would finish 3rd as he couldn’t hold up against Dutch super stars David Boyaciyan and winner Ruben Visser. They did however make a 3-way deal, all walking away with a little over $200K. With 88 cashes in the live circuit behind his name, Andrew Chen has made himself a real tough player in the poker felt. Unfortunately for him, the last couple of years weren’t that juicy for him as there are only 3 only cashes on his name during the past 2 years. We will continue to follow Andrew, and we hope he will manage to add many more cashes to his name.
