Fortune Wheel Spin to Win

Just as there’s a saying that the older we get, policemen seem to get younger, the more poker we play over the years, the opposition seems to be getting tougher (and younger). The same goes for chess. Revolving so heavily around analysis and theory, both games are perfect for the online environment – in particular learning tools and courses, and ‘live’ coaching.

Pokercode is one such company that provides coaching services, and to celebrate the website’s third birthday on 1 October, they’ve come up with a generous special offer period that means budding poker gods can join at a hefty discount! Don’t hang around – you have until 3 October to take advantage of the juicy 45% discount.

The legendary Fedor Holz

When tuning in to the Pokercode website our attention is drawn to two places. One is the line ‘Learn poker from the best’, under which we’re told we can bring our game to the next level with the help of ‘some of the world’s best poker players’ … Quite a claim, one might think. But then we see the smiling face of a youthful looking Fedor Holz and, after looking in awe at the level of his success, we appreciate the value Pokercode offers. The company’s CEO and Tournaments Coach was the top online and live player in 2015 and 2016, has twice been a coveted bracelet winner and, significantly, has amassed over $40,000,000 in tournaments winnings. Add to this pedigree the powerhouse team that consists of Tournament Coaches Matthias Eibinger and Simon Rønnow, as well as Cash Game Coach Steffen Sontheimer – all of whom can have their success measured using ‘million’ as a unit – and it’s a very impressive and confidence-inspiring line-up.

What can Pokercode members expect?

Whether you’re into Cash Games or Tournaments, Pokercode delivers. Membership provides access to study content for both games via the site’s video platform, which is presented in a user-friendly Netflix style.

It’s a simple fact that learning poker alongside our peers can contribute greatly to improvement, and joining Pokercode introduces you to a buzzing and knowledgeable community of poker fans who are sharing your journey on the poker quest. Being able to address all manner of subjects and specific aspects of the game with other people to bounce ideas off of is a key part of poker training and, with literally hundreds of players (not forgetting their top-tier coaches) to interact with, Pokercode’s environment is sure to prove a rich source of help.

And there’s more! How does eight Live Coaching sessions every month with the experts sound? Just one nugget of wisdom from these world-beaters could dramatically add a game-changing play to your arsenal of weapons. Meanwhile, there’s an ever-expanding on-demand video library to get stuck into which currently numbers more than 160. Finally, joining Pokercode offers you access to Rangeviewer which, as the name suggests, is an excellent and highly rated software tool that helps us get to grips with ranges.

For a while now, GGPoker has carved out a deserved reputation for bringing new twists to online poker that enhance what is already a rewarding experience at this trailblazing poker room. One such is the ongoing GGCare & GGCheers promotion, which seeks to give players a chance at a $100K Flipout tournament every day!

How It Works

The marketeers at GGPoker came up with a great way to describe this fantastic take on rewarding players who have had both lows and highs at the tables – GGCare will ‘catch you when you fall’, while GGCheers will ‘lift you even higher’ … brilliant!

The idea is that if a player experiences a lousy, gut-wrenching reverse, such as seeing their Aces cracked by Kings, they’ll be automatically registered via GGCare for the following day’s $100,000 GTD #ThanksGG Flipout. However, it’s not just about offering up something for the unlucky – if the poker gods favour a player and put them on the winning side of a big pot, for instance, then the GGCheers element of the promo kicks in and they, too, will earn a spot in the Flipout.

Your Task Is to Have Fun at the Tables

And to take the ‘looking after our players’ theme still further, it’s not even necessary to actually turn up and play (see below).

Note that there’s no set criteria for what constitutes a day-to-day qualifying condition, rather a team of experts is constantly on the lookout for particularly lucky or unlucky scenarios, adding trigger points accordingly. Also, stack sizes in the ThanksGG Flipouts are determined by different factors (such as pot size) in a qualifying situation. To this end, GGPoker keeps optimizing the formula to ensure the Flipouts remain fair.

GGPoker. GGCare.

What Is a Flipout Tournament?

The Flipout format is automated, essentially running itself without need for player input as everyone is put all-in, every hand, until the smoke (very quickly) clears, and the winners emerge. So, you can have a lay-in after a hard day having fun at the tables, and you might wake up to find you’ve had a successful Flipout.

Prizes are paid out in C$ as soon as the tournament is over (your results can be found via the My Tournaments tab and on the PokerCraft timeline). Cash games including Hold’em, Omaha, All-In or Fold, Spin & Gold, Rush & Cash and Short Deck are eligible, as well as tournaments.

New players can sign up now and grab the latest free poker bonus stuff on offer at GGPoker. Have fun at the tables, and don’t forget that however the poker gods treat you, you could anyway catch a ticket for $100K Flipouts!

Just because the modern poker fan almost expects to get stuff for free every now and then, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be appreciative of the efforts made by online poker sites to add to both our gaming experience and our bankroll. A ‘permanent’ promotion at PokerStars is well worth taking advantage of, namely a 3x Reward Points boost via their Zoom poker offering.

What Is Zoom Poker?

This PokerStars fast-paced, fast-fold game allows you to fold and immediately start a new hand at a new table, so there’s no need to hang around waiting for a hand to finish after you’ve trashed yet another 72 or some other rubbish. There’s a pool of players who are constantly moved around through the ether every time they fold or complete a hand, finding themselves at successively new tables with brand new hands literally within a second or so of leaving the previous table.

Once you’re facing a bet you can fold at any point and clicking on ‘Fast Fold’ even allows you to fold and leave before it’s your turn to act (as far as the other players are concerned, of course, you ‘remain’ seated and your action takes place in turn). You can also choose to watch a hand play out by holding the CTRL key when folding. Zoom poker is available in both Hold’em and Omaha cash game formats (and tournaments).

PokerStars Zoom.

Get Triple Reward Points With Zoom Early Bird!

Due to the fact that it’s the nature of Zoom poker to fit so many more hands in per hour or session than is the case in a conventional game, players clearly accumulate more Reward Points at Zoom tables. But with this Early Bird promo you can boost that to receive 3X Reward Points.

All you have to do is be among the first 10 players starting up a real money poker NLHE 6-Max or PLO 6-Max Zoom pool with blinds from $0.08/$0.16 to $2.50/$5, and you’ll get boosted Rewards. When the game is below 10 players, you will receive 3X Reward Points (with no time limit). When the player pool reaches 10 you’ll continue getting the same 3X points for a further 10 minutes… (Note that Heads-Up and Full Ring games are not eligible for this offer).

The proverbial early bird catches the worm, but at PokerStars you’re rewarded with a 3X points boost! Dive in, and have some fast and furious fun at the Zoom tables. If you’ve not yet done so, join PokerStars now and take advantage of their latest sign up poker bonus.

As the world of online poker continues to evolve, the latest development in Canada sees the World Series of Poker (WSOP) team up with GGPoker to launch the Ontario-based WSOP.ca poker room, a unique combination that aims to bring poker fans a winning mix from two of the world’s leading poker brands.

A Runway to the WSOP

A WSOP bracelet is the ultimate goal of any respectable would-be poker god and, thanks to a partnership with GGPoker, it’s possible for players at WSOP.ca to compete for the coveted status symbols online, as well as play in WSOP Circuit ring events and, importantly, win their way to Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker Main Event itself!

A key plus with WSOP.ca being powered by GGPoker is that players get to enjoy the award-winning software that typifies GGPoker’s forward-thinking approach to poker. As well as an anyway impressive offering of real money poker tournaments, cash games and a variety of formats and variants – such as the likes of fast-fold Rush & Cash, Spin & Gold, Flip & Go and All-In or Fold – there are great features, like the integrated in-house Smart HUD, Bubble Protection, Tournament Staking and many more. Furthermore, in an age that sees us constantly on the go, a great deal of thought has gone into developing the software for playing via mobile and tablet.

WSOP.CA - October Maple Rewards.

The launch of WSOP.ca has been brought about to cater specifically for poker fans in Ontario and, as such, has promotions and offers that are themed accordingly. One such is the October Maple Rewards promo, while Ontario players can look forward to the poker room having a distinct ‘home’ flavour.

Migration to WSOP.CA

Migration for those players in Ontario with GGPoker accounts is painless! Anyone with an Ontario-registered GGPoker account is automatically migrated to WSOP.ca along with their cash, T$, C$ and ticket balances. And because this is a brand-new venture, everyone – whether you’re an existing GGPoker player in Ontario or are starting up a new account with WSOP.ca – is entitled to the Welcome Bonus!

WSOP.CA - Welcome Bonus. Tickets and matched cash.

Note – it’s possible to have both WSOP.ca and GGPoker accounts – you can play at GGPoker when outside of Ontario (and within a location served by GGPoker). It’s not obligatory to have the same screen name at both rooms.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) recently hosted its inaugural festival in the land down under. It kept up to its billing highlighted by Australia’s David Tang defeating China’s Po Ho heads-up to win the 2022 WPT Australia $5,000 AUD Main Event for $647,470 AUD ($425,712 USD). In addition, Tang earned something all players covet in having his name engraved on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup and will have a chance to win even more money thanks to being awarded a seat in the WPT World Championship at The Wynn Las Vegas in December.

This is by far the biggest live poker victory for Melbourne’s Tang, who came into the event with about $100,000 in live poker earnings tracked by The Hendon Mob dating back more than a decade.

If things worked out differently, Tang would have never had a taste of WPT glory. In fact, he nearly didn’t play the event at all.

“I’m still a bit stung, but it’s awesome,” Tang shared with WPT after his victory over Ho. “I wasn’t expecting to get this far,” said Tang, after his victory. “To be honest I was actually trying to cancel my flight here because I wanted to watch the (Australian Football League) Grand Final in Melbourne, but they wouldn’t give us a refund on our flights so it just all worked out.”

The WPT Australian Main Event attracted a banner field of 710 entries to generate a $3,550,000 AUD ($2,352,583 USD) prize pool. The top 69 players in this no-limit Texas hold’em affair went home with at least a min-cash of $6,138 AUD.

“We are very happy with our first-ever WPT Australia festival. The Star Gold Coast proved to be a wonderful venue,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “Thank you to all the players that participated and congratulations to David for earning his spot in the WPT Champions Club.”

Final Table Action

According to the WPT Blog, Eventual champion David Tang began the final table in second to last place, although was closely grouped with De Kun Li and runner-up Po Ho with each of the trio holding between 34 to 37 big blinds. Daisuke Ogita began the final table with a massive stack of 176 big blinds, nearly triple that of his nearest competitor in Naj Ajez with 59 big blinds.

Meanwhile, Josh Hutchins entered the final table with just 14 big blinds. While he was unable to make the podium, he did ladder up with Li hitting the rail first as on the 15th hand of play Li unsuccessfully jammed ace-six suited into Ogita’s cowboys. A dozen hands later, Hutchins was on the rail. Hutchins jammed with king-nine from the small blind and was unable to get there after Ajez called with ace-five suited.

Although the start-of-the-final-table chip leader Ogita began the day with a hot hand, things cooled off and he failed to reach the podium. It was a huge hand for Ho who five-bet jammed with rockets. Ogita called with big slick and was on the rail after the board didn’t provide any miracles for the Japanese native.

After this hand, Ho had a substantial chip lead with about half the chips in play. While he held onto his lead for a while, things eventually fell apart and he became one of the shorter stacks about 100 hands into three-handed play when his ace-seven suited got nowhere against Ajez’s jacks. Ho later doubled back through Ajez and was just inches behind Ajez for the chip lead with Tang holding the short stack.

Tang continued to hang in and chipped up but was still in third place when Ho delivered a bad beat to Ajez to send him to the rail in third place when his ace-four improved to trips to defeat his opponent’s ace-five.

Ho began the heads-up battle with a 3:2 chip advantage over Tang. This quickly changed after Tang doubled through Ho to give him nearly five times the chips of his opponent when his king-queen held against queen-ten. It was all over a hand later as follows.

Ho three-bet jammed with A 8 for 12 big blinds and was called by Tang with K 10 . Both players hit the 8 7 5 hard with Ho holding top pair and Tang showcasing a flush draw along with two live overcards. Tang improved to a flush after the A landed on the turn but Ho, who improved to two-pair, still had thin hopes of winning the hand to stay alive with four live outs to a full house. The K river wasn’t one of the cards Ho needed and he fell one player short of a monumental victory at a WPT Main Event.

Huge congrats to David Tang for winning the WPT Australia Main Event and best of luck to Tang at the end of the year in the WPT World Championship at The Wynn Las Vegas.

Broaden Your Horizons

Poker tournaments take place in Casinos for a reason, not least the fact that many poker fans are attracted to casino games. They also like sports betting. It doesn’t take a genius to lump these in with poker to create a festival that provides a competitive outlet to enjoy all of the above, and this is where The Festival delivers where others have yet to act. In Bratislava the organisers will be hosting the following Casino Competitions:

  • Roulette Tournament
  • Blackjack Tournament
  • Slots Tournament
  • Sports Betting Competition

Activities in Bratislava

Here’s another worthy feature that sets The Festival apart from others. The organisers and hosts go to great lengths to provide all sorts of activities and events away from the tables. This could be wine tasting, the best in local restaurants, player parties, cabaret to name but a few. It’s fitting, given the party atmosphere, that partypoker is the perfect place to win your way to this event!

Rankings of any kind aren’t the be all and end all, and can often be temporary, but in the world of online poker – which is constantly on the go, every day of the year, year after year – they can nonetheless offer a reliable indicator as to who is doing well in the industry. And given that this, of course, means who is doing well in relation to the competition, it certainly helps your cause to find yourself at the top!

This is what happened to WPT Global when, in the midst of the ongoing battle to be the leading online poker Cash Game operator, the would-be godfather that is PokerStars and GGPoker were both beaten to the pinnacle by WPT Global!

Build it, and they will come…

The term ‘bragging rights’ is commonly heard in poker, and it’s no less applicable and significant for the providers themselves, slugging it out in the ether, as it is for us players who slug it out at the tables. Indeed, there’s a direct and important connection between the two, as a company being able to refer to themselves as ‘the World’s Largest Cash Game Poker Network’ helps them maintain momentum and even expand on their success. This, in turn, allows the likes of WPT Global to improve their poker offering, thus benefitting players. Punters nowadays might well be spoilt for choice but, if you’re looking for a poker room to take your hard-earned money to for a fun time (ideally leaving the session with a bigger bankroll than you started with), you’re more likely to be drawn to a site that can boast such an impressive accolade. This is especially true if said poker network’s managing such an achievement simultaneously left two big name rivals in their wake!

It’s worth noting that heading the Cash Game charts is by no means a suggestion that WPT Global is a one-trick pony! On the contrary, in fact – this a site packed with a varied poker menu that caters for all tastes and bankrolls. This is evidenced, for instance, in their $1 for $1 Million tournament, which does exactly as it says on the tin (and for which there’s still time to take part!).

So, congratulations are in order for WPT Global, and poker fans could do worse than head to the site and join the throngs of fellow players who helped it climb to the top of the pile.

Stats provided by WPT Global

Sweden’s Simon Mattsson capped off a rocking 2022 World Series of Poker Online by winning the most prestigious bracelet event of them all by defeating Thailand’s Kannapong Thanarattrakul heads-up in the 2022 WSOP Online $5,000 Main Event to bank the whopping top prize of $2,793,574.

GGPoker guaranteed a massive $20 million on what many have dubbed the most prestigious online no-limit hold’em poker event of the year. This proved to be merely a placeholder with 4,984 entries generating a mouth-watering $23,674,000 prize pool. While the prize pool was enormous, it wasn’t the biggest-ever event in online poker history. GGPoker and the WSOP already have this covered with the 2020 WSOP Online $5,000 Main Event attracting 5802 entries to create a Guinness Record $27,559,500 prize pool.

While Mattsson is a well-accomplished poker pro with more than $1.5 million in live earnings as tracked by The Hendon Mob, his roots and biggest results come from the online poker tournament arena. He is not only ranked as the top online poker player at PocketFives but also the site tracks him with the most earnings from online poker tournaments with a staggering $27.6 million in total cashes.

Mattsson came into the live-streamed final table with the chip lead and was among the leaders en route to victory in what will be one of the more memorable events in online poker history.

Final Table Recap

The final table was commentated by Jeff Platt and five-time WSOP bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus on a 30-minute delay with hole cards exposed. Simon Mattsson entered the action with the chip lead and although didn’t go coast-to-coast en route to victory he still managed to dominate throughout to win the title.

Meanwhile, the three players that came into the final table with short stacks of 11-13 big blinds in Jordan Spurlin (seventh – $496,774), Oliver Sprason (eighth – $372,529), and Tim Rutherford (ninth – $279,357) were the first to hit the rail. During this time, Finland’s Samuel Vousden managed to take the chip lead temporarily before Mattsson stormed back to take control and never look back.

China’s Yanfei Chi then found himself short on chips when his queens didn’t hold against jacks held by fellow countrymate Feng Zhao. The rest of his stack went to Vousden after his queen-nine suited didn’t overcome his opponent’s ace-seven.

Mattsson then managed to make a good laydown in a hand that eliminated Istvan Briski in fifth place for $883,404. Mattsson min-raised the cutoff with ace-jack before Briski min-clicked most of his stack from the button to three big blinds with king-eight suited. Zhao woke up with rockets from the big blind and four-bet to eight big blinds. Mattsson folded his ace-jack and the final four players were each guaranteed to be millionaires after Briski called and no miracle came on the board.

Kannapong Thanarattrakul then won a flip with sixes against ace-jack suited to eliminate Vousden in fourth place for $1,178,040. Shortly after, the action was heads-up when Mattsson’s ace-trey did the job against Zhao’s jack-nine for Zhao to collect the third-place podium prize of $1,570,941.

Mattsson entered heads-up action with a 3:2 chip advantage against Thanarattrakul and extended it to a 3:1 chip advantage before the final hand took place as follows:

Mattsson limped with 6 5 from the button with blinds at 1,500,000/3,000,000. Thanarattrakul raised to 9,000,000 from the big blind with J 10 and Mattsson opted to call to see the 10 7 4 flop.

“Ut oh,” said Ausmus as Thanarattrakul fired out for 6,171,000 with his top pair and backdoor flush draw. “There is some action brewing.”

Mattsson opted to call with his open-ended straight draw and backdoor flush draw and a Yahtzee card in the 3 came on the turn to complete Mattsson’s straight and give both players flush draws. Thanarattrakul bet 12,600,000 and Mattsson called.

A club on the river would have been a cooler for Mattsson as there is little chance he gets away from an inferior flush. But instead, the 7 paired the board and Thanarattrakul fired jammed his two pair for 44,633,226. Mattsson made the easy call and the rest was history. While Thanarattrakul was unable to earn the coveted WSOP gold bracelet he did go home with a huge runner-up prize of $2,094,884

Meanwhile, a massive congrats to Swedish poker legend Simon Mattsson for winning the 2022 WSOP Online Main Event for his first career taste at WSOP gold.

Ever since online poker announced itself to the world over two decades ago, with trailblazers such as partypoker at the forefront of the phenomenon, the game has become extremely popular throughout Scandinavia. No poker festival worth its salt, wherever in the world it might be, is complete without a band of plundering Scandinavians taking up temporary residence and, without exception, making their presence felt. Thanks to partypoker you can be part of such an experience by qualifying for this quality event, which will take place at the Casino Cosmopol in Sweden’s inviting capital, 19-23 October.

Have fun…

As we reported yesterday, Sunday was supposed to be a massive day at PokerStars with the online poker room hosting many big 2022 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) events including the six Main Events. All six events were canceled after many players disconnected.

PokerStars confirmed that the disconnections were due to a DDOS attack and shared that the three no-limit hold’em and the three pot-limit Omaha WCOOP Main Events are now rescheduled for the weekend of Nov. 5. The online poker room also mentioned that no personal information was leaked during the attack and that players competing in the Monthly Poker Challenge that were affected by the outage will be compensated.

Details Still to Come

PokerStars has yet to announce any details via social media and on the PokerStars Blog outside that, the WCOOP Main Events and WCOOP Sunday Million will still run this year on the weekend of Nov. 5. In other words, we will have six WCOOP Main Event champions in 2022 assuming nothing else goes wrong.

Players playing at the Southern European PokerStars client that primarily services players in France, Portugal, and Spain will not have similar good news as the Galactic Series Main Event will not be rescheduled.

We have a great track record of keeping our platform operational, however we know how frustrating it can be to experience this kind of disruption, especially during our WCOOP and Galactic series. We’d like to apologise to everyone affected and thank them for their patience.

We are not going to let these actions prevent us from crowning 2022 WCOOP Main Event Champions and are now planning to run the Main Events on the weekend of November 5. There WILL be champions in 2022!

PokerStars Blog

More details are unknown at this time including the time, structure, and guarantees. One can assume that PokerStars will run an aggressive satellite and promotional campaign considering that previous satellite and other WCOOP Main Event ticket winners already used their seats in the canceled event.

Benny Glaser
Benny “Rungodlike” Glaser

Also, this means that the four WCOOP Player of the Year Leaderboards, which will award $100,000 to the best performing players, are on hold until at least the beginning of November. Brazilian poker grinder Rui “RuiNF” Ferreira currently leads the overall leaderboard followed by Benny “RunGodlike” Glaser, and Kelvin “kelvin_fp:ar” Kerber.

As buy-in to prize pool ratios go, they don’t come more top-heavy (and generous) than the latest offering from WPT Global – a tournament that guarantees to pay out $1 million but has a microscopic real money poker buy-in of just $1 … yes, you read that right: $1 is enough for a seat at an event with a 7-figure prize pool.

The aptly-named $1 for $1 Million tournament takes the everyman approach to poker to the extreme, the aim being to give all poker fans a chance of playing for big money, regardless of the size of their bankroll. Just don’t forget to get involved ASAP, because there are only a couple of Flights remaining, with the final bite at the proverbial cherry being on 28 September!

Note – the schedule has been tweaked: WPT Global has decided to reschedule so that Day 2 will now be held on Saturday 1st October and Day 3 (the final day) on Sunday 2nd October. This is to give as many players as possible the opportunity to take part in this key event (make sure you’re one of them!), and also to accommodate software upgrades aimed at improving the playing experience, including this particular tournament.

There’s a reason why PokerStars – which has been around for over two decades – is considered by many to be the Big Daddy of real money poker online. Much of what we see across the industry was first pioneered or inspired by this ground-breaking poker room, and as the game evolves, so has PokerStars. This has been particularly noticeable in recent years as rival companies have sought to make up ground, and the battle to steer traffic inwardly has intensified.

Gone are the days of poker purists who frown upon anything other than traditional games – instead, it’s important to not only embrace new concepts but to tweak and improve on them, and poker is very special compared with most established sports and games in that it holds so much flexibility and room for manoeuvre.

Spin & Go

One such format that has seen quite a bit of jazzing up in recent years is the Sit & Go, and the PokerStars Spin & Go version is the recreational player’s dream game, paying out life-changing amounts for a modest outlay. This really is the universal poker game, and is one of many reasons to play at PokerStars. First and foremost, buy-ins start at a teeny weeny $0.25, but the major draw is the amounts that can be won. Even this buy-in could find you pocketing a cool $25,000.

There are buy-ins to suit all bankrolls, from newcomer hobbyists to highrollers, and it’s no surprise that the $5 game is so popular, given that the top prize can be $1,000,000! And you can strike it rich in minutes.

How It Works

A Spin & Go is a 3-player Hyper-Turbo Sit & Go tournament with random prize pools that can range from twice the buy-in to the aforementioned $1M. You can select how many you’d like to play at once, and the games are available in both No Limit Texas Hold’em and Omaha formats. Once all three protagonists have registered, the prize pool is determined at random, and battle commences. It’s bankroll-friendly, player-friendly, great fun and has massive prizes up for grabs.

Bounty Builders

For those of you not familiar with Bounty (Knockout) tournaments (where have you been?), the simple concept involves collecting a reward (the bounty) for eliminating an opponent. The beauty of knockout tournaments is that we can win money without even needing to make the prizes. With the Bounty Builders series on PokerStars, the idea is taken to the next level because it uses the Progressive Knockout format which, in most cases, work as follows:

  • 50% of the buy-in goes to the prize pool
  • 50% of the buy-in funds a player’s initial bounty
  • 50% of the Bounty is progressive – this means that eliminating an opponent earns you half of their bounty, and the other half is added to your own bounty value. In this way, bounties increase as a tournament progresses, with more players being eliminated and bounties increasing accordingly.
Bounty Builders on PokerStars.

Bounty Builders run daily, and each features a guaranteed prize pool. And it’s worth noting that PokerStars tournaments are structured in such a way as to give players a ‘proper’ poker experience…

Hot Turbos

Hot Turbos at PokerStars are, as the name suggests, action-packed Turbo tournaments aimed at those players looking for maximum poker entertainment as well as tasty prize pools. Held every day of the week, Hot Turbos get even hotter on Sundays, with even bigger prize pools, and they’re even one of the games that PokerStars specially recommend playing on their mobile app.

Hot Turbo tournaments on PokerStars.

With the Turbo structure (where Blinds increase at a – considerably – faster pace than usual), recreational players with limited time for poker can get the best of both worlds, with guaranteed fast-paced play alongside big prize pool guarantees. Add to this that buy-ins range from micro to high stakes, and that there are also satellites available in the hours leading up to tournaments, and here’s yet another no-brainer reason to enjoy your favourite pastime at PokerStars…

If you’ve not yet joined PokerStars, it’s easy to register and get a sign up bonus – then hit the tables and make the most of the latest offers…

Don’t settle for Sunday being a day of rest – plan ahead and make a note in your diary to hit the tables at Americas Cardroom for some big money, great value poker fun.

The most noticeable tournament offering on the Americas Cardroom Sunday menu is the $1 Million GTD event. Given the vast sums that are up for grabs, it’s understandable that some players are happy to fork out the $265 buy-in. In fact, there are 35 $265 direct buy-in Day 1 Flights every week! However, it should come as no surprise in this modern era that sees online poker rooms do their utmost to cater for everyday recreational players, so however modest your bankroll, there’s a plethora of satellites to take advantage of – and you can qualify for the $1M tournament for as little as $2.

Another nice touch at Americas Cardroom is that some thought has gone into scheduling so that players from around the globe can find Day 1 tournaments to suit their time zone! All-in-all, players of all types, from casual to seasoned pro, from countries far and wide, can organise their week around engineering a (massively cut-priced) route to the business end of the Million Dollar Sunday event.

Americas Cardroom. The double deuce.

Meanwhile, a tournament worthy of anyone’s weekly helping of poker is the $100,000 GTD Double Deuce, which takes place every Sunday and combines an affordable $22 buy-in (hence the name Double Deuce) with a hefty six-figure guaranteed prize pool.    Sticking with ACR’s thoughtful scheduling, it’s possible to take your pick of the many Flights that are laid on between Monday and Saturday. Just as it is with Million Dollar Sunday, the options are Early Bird, Lunch, PM, Late Night, and Late Late Night!

Of course, these are just two highlights of a typical Sunday at Americas Cardroom, and Sunday is just part of an action-packed week that includes real money poker Cash Games (with so-called Bomb Pots to spice up proceedings), Bonuses and Offers, Freerolls, Tournament Staking, Sit & Crush and the standard fare one can expect of a major online poker room (and let’s not forget the Casino and Sportsbook platforms).

Have fun!

PokerStars have teamed up with Oracle Red Bull Racing to offer up to $50,000 in Sunday Million tickets via Embrace the Race: Chequered Flag Freerolls. This promotion, which runs until 21 November, features a special Freeroll on any Monday following a Formula One race, and every time there’ll be at least $25K in tickets for both Sunday Million qualifiers and the Sunday Million tournament itself up for grabs. And to spice up proceedings, this is doubled to $50K should an Oracle Red Bull driver win a race!

Two Ways to Race

It’s easy to earn a place in an upcoming Chequered Flag Freeroll. Simply opt in via your Challenges Window before each race weekend, then play a Sunday Million qualifier or the Sunday Million tournament during that weekly period. Note that this offer is limited to one Freeroll entry per tournament.

Sunday Million.

As the name suggests, there are all sorts of reasons to win a ticket for the $109 buy-in Sunday Million. Apart from the massive prize pool, this No Limit Texas Hold’em tournament has a Progressive Knockout format, so eliminating an opponent earns you an instant Cash Bounty (and the rewards for knocking out players grow as they continue to eliminate rivals!).

Are you up for the race? Keep your eyes peeled for race weekends, throw your hat in the ring, and you could be winning your share of one of the poker world’s biggest payouts. Signing up at Pokerstars means taking advantage of different offers and play some real money poker, so if you’ve not yet joined, what are you waiting for…?

Have fun!

As summer becomes a distant memory and the dark nights start to draw in, it’s time to put on our positive hats and think of the good things to come. And they don’t come much better than a totally accessible tournament series that’s devoted exclusively to Knockout events and which combines bankroll-friendly buy-ins with bank-friendly prize pools! Introducing the next poker fest from partypoker – the Grand Prix KO Autumn Edition, which will run from 6-24 October and include a host of events that cater for everyone. (See the full schedule)

Player-Friendly Poker

Huge guarantees at affordable prices’ is how partypoker describes this series, and it does indeed hit the nail on the head, with buy-ins starting at a mere $11 – this is enough for a seat in a $100K GTD event! Moreover, regardless of the buy-in levels (the highest is $320), there’s no need to feel like any tournament is out of bounds, thanks to a comprehensive bargain basement satellite set-up. Just log-in, click on the Grand Prix tab and find Satellites in the Menu bar.

Pick up Bounties and Bag the Booty

There’s plenty to aim at in the Grand Prix KO Autumn Series. As well as the guaranteed prize pools that range from a not-to-be-sniffed-at $75,000 to a cool $500,000, there’s also the matter of Bounties to throw into the mix. The idea that we can see cash credited to our account every time we eliminate an opponent – and thus make a profit for our efforts without having to make the prizes – is what makes Knockouts so appealing and popular. Basing a whole tournament series on only this one format is a testament to the success we’ve seen of KO tourneys in such a short period. If you’re new to Bounty tournaments, then this is the perfect opportunity to dive in to some real money poker

Yesterday, Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, was supposed to be one of the biggest days of the year in online poker. GGPoker hosted its penultimate World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online bracelet side event in the WSOP Online $400 Closer with the $20 million guaranteed WSOP Online $5,000 Main Event moving onto Day 2 on Monday. 888poker hosted its first every Mystery Bounty event while partypoker was hosting some of the final opening flights for the $3,200 buy-in $2 million guaranteed Main Event and the $320 buy-in $500,000 guaranteed Mini Main Event.

It was planned to be one of the biggest days of the year at PokerStars, with three no-limit hold’em World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Events and three pot-limit Omaha WCOOP Main Events scheduled to kick off on Sunday. However, that all changed at around 8:30 p.m. CEST (2:30 p.m. ET) when players were experiencing disconnections from this event and the entire client themselves.

This can be frustrating for both professional and recreational players alike. Not just those that decided to play the WCOOP Main Event or qualified for the biggest event of their lives, but also those planning a normal Sunday schedule at PokerStars.

This can and has happened to all major operators over the years and is something that PokerStars would have obviously not liked to see happen on its big day. That being said, props to PokerStars for keeping its players in the loop via social media while the issues were being further investigated.

Cancelation Announced

As promised, PokerStars updated via social media less than 25 minutes after the previously shared Tweet. However, it wasn’t the news most players were looking for as PokerStars announced the cancelation of all previously running events.

According to the link to the PokerStars cancelation policy, it appears that the remaining players in the WCOOP Main Events when the disconnections took place first got their buy-in back with half of the remaining prize pool is split evenly with the other half being split based on chip counts.

10.2 Roll Forward (No Players in the Money): If a tournament is canceled and we do a ‘roll forward’ before the players are in the money, we refund each remaining player his tournament fee (and knockout bounty if appropriate), and then divide up the prize pool based on the following formula: 50% of the award pool is distributed evenly among all remaining players, and 50% of the award pool is distributed proportionally according to the chip count.

PokerStars Cancelation Rules 10.2

The frustration of poker players was understandably high on social media for those that planned to play on PokerStars on Sunday. PokerStars Ambassador Lex Veldhuis held a no-delay stream to allow his fans to ask questions or relay concerns.

PokerStars has yet to announce their plans for the WCOOP Main Events and other canceled WCOOP events but it would be hard to see a year pass by that the Main Event didn’t occur. Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising to witness PokerStars announce in the coming days a rescheduled WCOOP Main Event. Stay tuned at PokerListings for updates.

It’s not the winning, but the taking part that counts’ is an oft-used line that sounds admirable but rarely rings true. In fact, if you’re not too bothered about winning, then you might want to ask yourself why you play at all! There’s nothing at all wrong with seeking your share of glory, and thanks to a fun approach at WPT Global it’s possible to even have a tournament named after you!

Think of the bragging rights afforded you by seeing your name in a tournament’s title! And you can achieve this goal for just a few dollars via WPT Global’s daily $5.50 buy-in, aptly named [Your Name] Deepstack tournament. Your mission is clear: win this $500 GTD tournament twice within 30 days and you’ll earn the right to see your name up in lights, as it were, for up to a month!

If you manage this feat, just remember not to let the accolade go to your head, as you’ll need to keep your feet firmly planted on the ground in order to continue on your poker quest at WPT Global. With a great roster of tournaments of all shapes and sizes – and, of course, WPT refers to the renowned World Poker Tour – and a varied offering that one can expect from such a big name in online poker, there’s plenty to sink your teeth into…

Have fun!

As if poker were not exciting enough… have you tried out Run it Twice? If not – where have you been? The great and the good of poker can’t seem to get enough of having two showdowns if poker shows on TV are anything to go by. Fortunately for the everyday poker fan, Americas Cardroom has a number of nice touches, one of which is their Run it Twice facility.

While doing this does indeed add an extra element of fun to proceedings, it also could be argued that essentially splitting up the hand into two reduces the stress a little as we get to address the thorny subject of variance. Indeed, with particularly big pots, giving ourselves instead two bites of the proverbial cherry by running it twice can indeed make quite a difference during the course of a session.

How It Works

If you feel like your nerves and bankroll will both have a less stressful time by running it twice, simply go to Settings in the Americas Cardroom software, click on Playing Tools, and select Run it Twice, after which the facility is switched on and you’re good to go. Then, when shoving for all your chips, thus introducing the prospect of an all-in showdown, the other player simply clicks the button to Run it Twice and, with both parties agreed, two separate hands are created, and the board sees two ‘runs’ take place, with each worth half of the pot.

Note: If an all-in is called pre-flop, two different hands will hit the board, while if you Run it Twice post-flop the second hand will use an identical flop and feature distinct Turns and Rivers.

Americas Cardroom belt.

The Run it Twice feature is one of numerous ways of jazzing up the real money poker games at Americas Cardroom. Others include Blitz Poker (named after Blitz chess), the poker room’s own fast-fold poker version, and special tables at which so-called Bomb Pots appear at random in which larger pots are created by all players placing mandatory antes and the hand starting at the Flop! It all adds to the overall experience and, along with a great tournament schedule, for instance, is why Americas Cardroom is proving so popular.

Have fun!

We live in an age where we barely need to wait for anything, with fast travel, fast food, fast-forwarding through adverts on TV and so on. Meanwhile, the internet affords us the same facility, with instant access to anything from information to gratification. It should come as no surprise, then, that the likes of GGPoker pander to our every such desire, providing non-stop fun and action without our suffering the inconvenience of having to wait around for it: introducing GGPoker’s Rush & Cash games…

Traditional cash games see us sitting twiddling our thumbs as we wait – after folding yet another trash hand – for a new hand to be dealt, far more often than not finding ourselves having to repeat the process. The Rush & Cash format does away with that hanging around by tweaking the playing conditions.

Rush & Cash: How It Works

The concept is simple, and takes full advantage of technology: At a Rush & Cash table (available in both Texas No Limit Hold’em and Omaha formats), when you wish to fold a hand, you simply hit the Rush button and you’ll immediately be sent (‘rushed’) to a new table, with a new hand already dealt, against a new set of opponents. You don’t even have to wait your turn to be transported to fresh fields – assuming you’re facing a bet, you can fold out of turn (your opponents, meanwhile, will see you have folded only at the appropriate time). Just hit Rush and you’re straight into another hand. Players are seated at random, and the Button is shared around equally over time. And that’s it! No waiting, instant action and more hands per hour, thus enabling you to earn even more points via GGPoker’s Fish Buffet reward system.

And there’s more…

Cash Drops

There’s more to Rush & Cash games than speed and action. At the beginning of randomly selected hands, extra chips will literally be dropped on to the table! (Note that 0.5bb is taken from pots of 30bb or more to build up the Cash Drop pool).

These Cash Drops can range from 10bb to an eye-watering 600bb, with the lower amounts going into the pot itself, while higher amounts are divided up and then added to each player’s stack! It really is the gift that keeps on giving…

Fish Buffet reboot!

Be the shark – hit the tables at GGPoker and immerse yourself in a great poker experience!
