Come December, come the PokerListings Operator Awards 2022 which, this year, we expect to feature a host of operators who continue to make the world of online poker an increasingly innovative, streamlined, secure and ultimately enjoyable experience for poker fans around the globe, whether they’re seeking out the occasional fun session or have a more serious approach.
Getting the most out of Texas Hold’em and Omaha cash games as well as online poker tournaments and many other games, variants and formats – and subsequently staying ahead of the technological curve – should be the aim of every online poker operator, and with the PokerListings Operator Awards we focus on those whose efforts and results during the course of the year stand out.
Kicking off the awards as we enter December is, fittingly, the Best Poker Operator category. Not surprisingly, this coveted award will be well-earned, and it’s important to point out that all nominees deservedly find themselves in contention.
Some celebrities have a fleeting dalliance with poker that ends up being just a one-off, after which they move on to something else and the world of online poker never sees them again. Meanwhile, some take an actual interest, and others become genuine players, with poker their passion that’s shared with their fans.
PokerStars have created a successful recipe by combining the popularity of e-sports, poker and rap music in France and beyond with a partnership with Call of Duty legend turned poker fanatic, Corentin Houssein, who goes by the name of Gotaga and who is a successful streamer with an impressive and enthusiastic following.
Not only does his magnetic passion for poker provide fun-filled streaming action for his followers, but budding world-beaters who tune in to his epic poker nights can also further their own poker quest thanks to Freerolls and special tournaments that have some fantastic prizes up for grabs. And this will be the case on 2 December when Gotaga and friends play host from his studio in Paris.
Guests will not only include fellow streamers Domingo and Xari as well as Gotaga’s brother, Ronan, but also the top French Rap Singer, Rim’K and Youtuber, JOYCA – all battling it out in a tournament from 8pm.
Bag a $30,000 Package
As for the viewers, the incentive to perform well in the exclusive Freeroll on the night couldn’t be more juicy, with a chance to win a coveted Platinum Pass in an online poker tournament that features a guaranteed prize pool of €20,000!
Given that the PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC) is drawing closer (this megabucks event will take place in the Bahamas in January 2023), this is one of the last opportunities to win one of the few remaining Platinum Passes.
Valued at $30,000, the package includes:
$25,000 Buy-in to the PSPC
Six nights in a 5-Star hotel for two
$1,900 for expenses
Airport transfer
Exclusive Platinum Pass Winner experiences during the event
Note that during this special stream there will also be chests dropped into players’ accounts!
There might be a certain football tournament going on that’s attracting the attention of many in France, but it would be a mistake to miss out on this great poker night… Join the party on Twitch on 2 December to get the crucial password via the chat, and for further info tune into the social media of both PokerStars and the guests involved in Gotaga’s much-awaited stream. Have fun, and maybe you’ll be starting 2023 playing big money poker in the Bahamas…

The 12 Days of Christmas might be the name of a famous yuletide ditty, but some great news for poker fans is that the leading online poker room WPT Global has their own special way of celebrating the festive season, and it’s too good to miss!
Always looking to keep the game fun, WPT Global have come up with a fitting way to lighten up December days in the shape of their 12 Days of Xmas Challenge, which takes place between 1-12 December and gives players a chance to earn rewards while simply having fun at the tables. This promotion is exactly what real money poker is all about.
12 Days of Xmas Challenge: How It Works
It’s poker and prizes – the more poker action you see, the more goodies you’re likely to rack up over the 12 fun-filled days. Completing five different challenges (Missions) earns a prize, and managing 10, 15 and 20 Missions respectively is enough to pick up increasingly ‘bigger’ prizes. And if you successfully complete the whole 24-challenge competition you’ll scoop the lot and more besides…
Prizes
Complete 5 Missions to earn a $2.20 MTT ticket
Complete 10 Missions to collect $5 cash
Complete 15 Missions to also bag an $11 MTT ticket PLUS $15 cash
Complete 20 Missions to receive a further $50 cash PLUS entry into a $10,000 raffle
Complete all 24 missions to receive ALL of the above PLUS an additional $200 cash PLUS entry into a $20,000 raffle
Whether you’re into No Limit Texas Hold’em cash games, Short Deck games, Zoom or online poker tournaments the aim of the 12 Days of Xmas Challenge is to feature multiple aspects of online poker, thus allowing you to get the most out of this poker experience. Conventional wisdom nowadays suggests that broadening our poker horizons is the best way to improve our overall game, so from newcomer to seasoned veteran, diving into the varied challenges means being able to sharpen those poker skills.
Here are the challenges, which fall into Easy, Medium and Hard categories:

The world of real money online poker comes in all shapes and sizes, variants and formats and, while there’s something for everyone, some elements are more popular than others. However, it’s important for a poker room to make sure that those players who prefer this or that type of game are well catered for, and GGPoker are doing exactly this in the shape of their excellent Expanded GGMasters collection of weekly tournaments.
This consists of a bunch of regular events that are of various types but which all have something in common, namely No Rebuys and No Re-Entries. For many fans of online poker tournaments this is an ideal format, the Freezeout being seen – quite undeservedly – by some as not providing the same level of action that a rebuy tends to generate. But the poker purist would say rebuys encourage too risky and loose an approach to a skill game, an assessment which, of course, has justification.
And there’s loads of money to play for! Immerse yourself in this feast of GGMasters Freezeouts and every week you can fight for your share of at least $3,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools.
Poker for All – Qualify for Peanuts for GGMasters Freezeouts
The good news for poker fans is that even if you’re a hobbyist with a limited bankroll you can take part in some big money tournaments, thanks to very affordable satellites to GGMasters Freezeouts being available throughout the week. In fact, buy-ins in this user-friendly qualifying set-up start at just $1.50! Note that once you win a seat via a satellite tournament you’ll be automatically registered and won’t be able to unregister.
There are 10 different GGMasters Freezeout tournaments in total each week, so plenty in which to stick your poker teeth. Here’s a sample of what to expect (all Freezeouts, with no Re-entry, no Rebuy):

*Max entrants refers to the total number of live seats available. An alternate list will be in play if more register
*The PG220 Online Day 1’s (Wednesday Dec. 7) are played online but Day 2 is played live.
The PG220 will kick the series off on December 4th with the first two of seven flights. With 20 mins levels and 200BB, players may find this tournament plays more like a turbo than a standard tournament. Online players with access to the global PartyPoker site will be able to play day 1A of this tournament on Dec. 7th – but will have to get to Montreal to play day 2 should they advance at their own expense.
Bounties are up for grabs in two tournaments in the series: event #4 on December 7th will see $100 bounties on the line for successful knockouts, while the popular Mystery Bounty format closes the series on December 19th. In event #13, mystery bounties will only be awarded once 25% of the players remain and will range from $100 up to $5000.
Playground Poker Club
The main event with a hefty $250k guarantee runs two day 1’s on December 16th and 17th. Players should note that there is a cap of 135 active players during day 1A, but up to 180 players will be on the felt on day 1B. Each day will end when there is 12.5% of the field remaining, essentially putting them into the money. Players can play both flights if they choose to, taking their biggest stack with them to day 2 if they survive both day 1’s.
Most tournaments will run with 20 min blind levels – the two exceptions are event #5 – the Deepstack Turbo which features 15 mins levels, and the Main Event #9 which will use 30 min levels. Most tournaments will cap late registration after the conclusion of level 7, with the exception there being the main event which permits it through level 9.
There is no better present for a poker player than hardware and a load of cash and Playground is offering both to players who want to partake in the birthday celebrations as each event will award the champion a Playground ring!
Stay tuned to www.pokerlistings.com for the PartyPoker Christmas Calendar with your chance at winning daily prizes courtesy of our friends – and friends of Playground Poker – PartyPoker!
The Oscars, Fifa World Player of the Year, MTV Awards… all of these are important in their own way, but in the world of online poker you have the PokerListings Operator Awards which, as the 2022 edition approaches, are an important annual fixture that recognises those operators who have distinguished themselves in a special way over the last year.
At Pokerlistings we are constantly striving to both keep up with the latest news and developments in the industry and provide our community of poker fans with a way to connect with the best online poker providers around. Years of experience has afforded us the expertise to cut through the chaff and find quality.
By monitoring and assessing various aspects of online poker and subsequently giving out awards to numerous operators within the industry who have stood out for this or that element of their offering, we can at the same time alert recreational players and would-be poker experts alike to those poker rooms that we believe provide the best playing experience.
Poker Awards
Whether you’re into online poker tournaments or prefer Texas Hold’em or Omaha cash games, you can find out a lot from taking a look at the PokerListings Operator Awards and seeing who is doing what, and where you might find certain poker rooms that cater for any specific needs you have or favourite games or formats.
It’s also a nice opportunity for us at Pokerlistings to show our appreciation of the efforts of operators who we know have produced something special through their tremendous and ongoing efforts. In a world where technology has come so far and is a ‘natural’ part of everyday life, it’s easy for the wonders of online poker to be almost taken for granted by players nowadays, but if you step back and consider how everything (including some amazing features) comes together so smoothly, the task of putting the whole player experience together is very impressive. With all of that in mind, it’s fitting that passion, commitment and talent are recognised and rewarded accordingly.
So – keep your eyes peeled for more details, and you’ll get the chance to play your part in who will receive awards in the various categories such as those above that highlight different parts of the industry.
In the meantime, if you’re looking to expand your online poker horizons you can find the best online poker bonuses and offers in our dedicated info section. Have fun at the tables, and good luck!
Are you ready for Christmas? So are we! But we’re celebrating in a different way, and one that’s aimed at giving our Pokerlistings community something to enhance their poker experience during the weeks running up to the big day.
Announcing our Pokerlistings exclusive Christmas Calendar, which runs from 27 November right until 25 December, and which will feature daily giveaways worth a total of over €10,000… That’s a lot of early Christmas presents!
The special calendar is a result of a collaboration with three great names in the world of poker, namely PokerStars, The Festival and Juicy Stakes.
The daily giveaways could be Freerolls featuring multiple online poker tournament tickets or even seats to big money events! Just make sure that you not only tune into Pokerlistings every day but also keep an eye on our social media, such as the Pokerlistings Twitter account. Incidentally, if you’re not yet part of the PokerStars family, where have you been? Home of the Sunday Million and host of a feast of tournaments, cash games and other favourites that caters for the whole spectrum of poker fans, it’s a must-have part of every player’s go-to list of real money poker operators.
Teaming up with The Festival means our would-be big-time players who are thus far not acquainted with this unique live festival series can get a chance to be involved in a comprehensive multi-partner satellite set-up where you can win (for example) juicy €1,600 for the next leg of the tour, held at the fantastic venue that is the Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham, 13-19 February 2023.
It’s impossible not to be attracted to Juicy Stakes Poker & Casino purely from its great name! A relatively new and emerging force, this poker site is perfect for recreational players. The fact that it is also a partner of The Festival is a testament to the operator’s recognition.
So, there you have it – the Pokerlistings Christmas Calendar promises to be the gift that keeps on giving! Meanwhile, check out the latest online poker bonuses and offers and hit the tables this winter…

For many in various parts of the northern hemisphere at this time of year, there’s not enough sunlight, it’s cold, wet and windy, and next summer seems a long time away. Of course, as fans of real money poker we can at least take solace in being able to enjoy the action at the tables, but wouldn’t it be great to be, let’s say, somewhere like the Bahamas…?
Thanks to PokerStars you can turn such a dream to reality! Join in the thrills and spills of their newly-launched special edition of Chests & Ladders, which runs until 11 December, and you’ll find that among the great prizes up for grabs are SEVEN fantastic Platinum Passes to the PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship (PSPC), which will take place in the Bahamas between 30 January and 3 February, 2023.
The Platinum Pass is worth a massive $30,000 and includes:
$25,000 buy-in to the PSPC
Six nights’ hotel accommodation for the winner and a guest in a 5-star hotel
Airport transfer
$1,900 in expenses
Exclusive Platinum Pass Winner experiences during the event
Those players across PokerStars.com specifically can enjoy the fun of the Chest & Ladders board and be in with a chance of winning a share of over $500,000 in rewards, as well as one of four of the $30K Platinum Passes. Meanwhile, players in France and Spain are also able to take part, with €150,000 in rewards and three Platinum Passes on offer! You don’t need to be a seasoned online poker tournament player to get involved, given the great rewards on offer.
Chest & Ladders: How It Works
You’ll find numerous PSPC Chests across the Chest & Ladders board, with each containing an instant reward that could be a Platinum Pass. On completing the board, an additional PSPC Chest will be dropped, featuring an even bigger instant reward and another chance of a Platinum Pass.
Players must be PokerStars Rewards members and should opt in via the Challenges window in their account to take part in this promo. After completing progress bars by playing in real money games, players then find a Chest is dropped, and this contains a dice roll for Chests & Ladders, leading to the following outcomes:
Progress along the number of squares that is shown on the dice.
Land on a ladder to enable you to climb upwards, allowing you to make it to the end of the board quicker.
Land on a PSPC Chest to receive an instant personalised reward (which could include cash, tournament tickets or free spins) or a PSPC Platinum Pass!
Make it to square 49 (or beyond) to receive a final PSPC Chest containing bigger rewards and another chance to win a Platinum Pass (note that there are two via .COM and one via .FR and .ES)
And there’s more…
Chests & Ladders Platinum Pass Edition Freeroll
If the highs and lows of the Chest & Ladders board doesn’t deliver, you’ll get another chance of glory via the Chests & Ladders Platinum Pass Edition Freeroll, which will be held on 13 December (15:00 ET/21:00 CET) and feature $80,000 in guaranteed prizes for .COM and €50,000 for .FR and .ES – simply too good to miss.
ALL opted-in players who did not win a Platinum Pass will receive entry to this Freeroll, which has a final Platinum Pass on offer. Note that there is also a possibility more Platinum Passes might become available should all not be won while the offer is live…
*Any mention of a bonus or discussion of such terms is not in relation to the province of Ontario.
While partypoker is well-known for providing a varied offering for online poker tournament fans, if you’re a cash games player there are also plenty of reasons to join the action at this popular poker room.
One such is their latest promotion – aptly named Table Starter – which sees players rewarded simply for enjoying their time at the tables. Whether you’re a traditionalist and play Texas Hold’em cash games, or you prefer to get your poker kicks from hectic Omaha sessions, this promo is perfect. And the good news is that it will continue rewarding players all the way to 15th January 2023!
Table Starter: How It Works
As we have come to expect from one of the leading lights of the real money poker world, this is one of those ‘sit down, play, reap the rewards, rinse and repeat’ player-friendly promotions that requires zero effort other than playing the game. It’s also bankroll-friendly…
It works as follows:
While at NLH or PLO 6-max or 8-max cash game tables with minimum stakes of $0.10/$0.25, players will be eligible for 25% rakeback on rake collected whenever three or fewer players are dealt into the hand.
This continues while no more than three players are being dealt into hands.
Rakeback is calculated and paid into eligible players’ accounts every Monday inpartydollars (P$).
What Are partydollars?
Partydollars are partypoker’s own virtual currency which, when paid out as rewards in promotions such as Table Starter, can then be used (either in full or in part) to buy in to Tournaments, SPINS, Sit & Go games, standard Cash Games and FastForward cash games. P$ are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Note that Heads-Up and Fastforward games do not qualify for this promotion.
Whatever your favourite poker formats and games, check out our info section to find out the best online poker bonuses and offers currently available.
As the days get darker and colder, that’s all the more reason to stay indoors and play online poker during the winter weeks. As well as the usual feast of poker on offer, you can now qualify for the popular fan-favouirite that is The Festival Nottingham, which will take place at the famous Dusk Till Dawn, one of Europe’s leading poker rooms, 13-19 February 2023. You can get your hands on a juicy €2,250 Package by getting involved in Unibet’s Sunday Package Qualifiers, which are underway and will continue right until 5 February.
The €2,250 package includes:
Five nights (for two) in a twin room at the Crowne Plaza Nottingham (14-19 February)
Breakfast for two
2x £450 Buy-Ins to the Poker Main Event
€400 pocket money/expenses (paid directly into your Unibet account)
If that’s not enough incentive to experience the great atmosphere at Dusk Till Dawn, nothing is… Note that there are also Main Event Seat Only satellites running at Unibet (19:00 GMT/20:00 CET), with these €25 buy-in qualifiers offering a chance to bag a £450 seat at Nottingham via a 10 minute-level rebuy/add-on tourney. You certainly don’t have to be an online poker tournament veteran to win your way to a major festival!

Good luck winning your way to the home of the legendary Robin Hood!
Americas Cardroom has made numerous contributions to real money online poker over the years, and one that deserves a special mention is their constantly endeavouring to promote women in poker.
It’s an imperative that those responsible for helping shape and influence poker do their utmost, and part of encouraging more women to enter what used to be such a male-oriented world is to actually be seen to afford women opportunities that inspire potential recruits to what is a truly fascinating and exciting game.
A few weeks ago ACR hosted an impressive Charity Poker Tournament which, while being commendable, certainly isn’t the extent of this excellent online poker room’s efforts.
In fact, you’ll find that four of ACR Team pros are women, with each contributing to the cause in their own way.

Ana Marquez (above) was once the top ranked poker player in Spain, and has accumulated around $2 Million in live poker winnings. Catch her at the ACR tables under the screenname AnaMarquez.
Katie Lindsay
Katie Lindsay
Katie Lindsay joined the ACR Pro team in November 2021 alongside her husband, the top player, Chris Moorman. With more than one string to her proverbial poker bow, Katie has experienced considerable success both live and online, chalking up over $2 million in online earnings and over a $500,000 playing live. In January 2021, she and her husband made history as the first married couple to go heads-up for a WSOP Gold Ring, with the husband eventually emerging the winner… The fashion-loving pro is no stranger to poker rooms in Nevada, California, London and more, and Texas Hold’em and Omaha fans can find her at ACR using the alias katelin.
Ebony Kenney
Ebony Kenney
Joining the Americas Cardroom team in late 2020, Ebony Kenney is a multi-talented, indefatigable character. Pokerwise, she started tasting success in live poker rooms as long ago as 2007, and nowadays is a force to be reckoned with online. A mother, author, dating and confidence coach, social media personality and model, this influential figure is also the founder and CEO of UncagedCollective.com …
Before signing with ACR, Ebony paid $10,000 during the pandemic to play in the All-In for America Celebrity Poker Tournament, which raised $2 Million for USA’s hungry. She won the event in a field of 65 that featured Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Tom Brady, Jon Hamm and Bryan Cranston. You can find her at ACR tables under the screenname CinnamonPardy.

It’s not only petrolheads who experienced the excitement of the Formula 1 season, which came to an end this weekend and saw nobody come close to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
If you’ve been playing at PokerStars you’ll have noticed the PokerStars Pit Stop Cash Drop promotion. And it’s not too late to have a chance of winning big money as the promo draws to a close at this leading real money online poker site – read on…
Since July’s French Grand Prix there’s been some extra spice thrown into the mix at PokerStars – the Tuesday after each race has seen a massive jackpot prize randomly dropped into one player’s account, with just 15 minutes to claim the cash! And, incredibly, it could be you(!), because throughout the season no player has claimed the jackpot. With the Pit Stop Cash Drop prize therefore increasing every race, the total has now reached a life-changing $220,000…
Now that the sporting extravaganza has finally ended with the last Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, the final Pit Stop Cash Drop will take place on 22 November. However, the conditions of the drop will be different this time – instead of the prize sitting in the player’s account for 15 minutes, PokerStars has decided to lengthen the claim time for this nosebleed amount of cash to 48 hours! By giving players a much longer window of opportunity in which to claim this fantastic prize, there’s now a much better chance that a PokerStars player will be the recipient of a fantastic early Christmas present. Note that players must opt in to the Pit Stop Cash Draw to have a chance of winning.
Incidentally, someone will win the $220,000 because, if the jackpot chest is still not claimed after November 24, PokerStars will then select another player, and so on, until someone finally claims the prize.
Rebecca McAdam Willetts, Director of Partnerships, PR and Consumer Engagement at PokerStars had this to say about this megabucks giveaway: “With the huge excitement of the F1 season and the stellar performance from the Oracle Red Bull Racing team, it’s only fitting to celebrate in style and award this massive prize to our deserving community. Offering epic rewards to the community is at the heart of our partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing, and we are truly excited to see who lands the PokerStars Pit Stop Cash Drop jackpot.”
This is yet another impressive promo that brings together poker and sport. Indeed, during the F1 season, PokerStars has awarded its community a host of special race weekend rewards.

When Real Money Online Poker first appeared a couple of decades ago it was (literally) a game-changer, giving those who might never have been inclined to venture into the ostensibly closed-off world of traditional Bricks & Mortar poker an opportunity to be part of what became a global phenomenon. The evolving technology that today’s younger players grew up with and thus find ‘normal’ has seen poker fans’ thirst for faster games, bigger prize pools and more thrills and spills met year after year.
However, PokerStars has upped the stakes (ahem…) to another level with their Virtual Reality version of poker. Whether you’re an out-and-out gadget addict or simply interested in missing an already exciting game with the wonderful, cutting-edge world of virtual reality, PokerStars VR is absolutely worth a try.
It’s interesting by the way, that the big daddy of online poker might well be a veteran operator compared with some but, nevertheless, produces the goods when it comes to putting an essentially futuristic twist on the game. AS PokerStars itself suggests when introducing its special feature-packed VR offering: it’s “Poker with No Limits” (see what they did there?!).
Of course, it by no means does this mix of the ‘real’ and virtual anywhere near enough justice to attempt a description – instead, you should simply give it a go. Suffice to say that the experience is a visual feast, complete with countless interactive toys, props and accessories and so realistic that you can even read your opponents’ body language as you would in a live game!
It’s Texas Hold’em, folks, but not as we know it… And you can even take your chances against PokerStars Team Pros and Twitch streamers.
Here are just a few of the many great features:
Simple, intuitive, fully immersive and easy to play
Play real opponents in Hold’em ring games
Amazing realism
Unlock free chips every day by spin the virtual wheel
Invite friends to your very own private table
Streaming media integration (Oculus Rift only)
Visually stunning, interactive environments
Exotic locales include ‘The Monte Carlo Yacht’, ‘Showdown Saloon’ and even the ‘Galaxy Space Station‘
Play Sit & Go tournaments, featuring weekly Leader Boards offering in-game rewards
Of course, in order to enjoy the PokerStars VR experience you’ll need specific hardware, with the following specifications being recommended:

The vast majority of poker players tend to also be sports fans, a poker truism that the constantly tuned in GGPoker was well aware of when coming up with their sports-oriented Bet & Go tournaments, which has just been launched to coincide with the football extravaganza that’s kicking off in Qatar.
Bet & Go: How It Works
The concept addresses the passion so many have for both poker and sports by combining action at Real Money Online Poker tables with action at sporting events.
Each Bet & Go tournament is matched to an upcoming sporting event such as a football or tennis match. Two buy-in options are available, with each determined by the pre-match odds assigned to the respective teams or players. This means that by ‘supporting’ Brighton against football giants Barcelona, for example, you will have a bigger discount applied to your buy-in than all those who support the favourites.
A further Bet & Go twist comes when the sporting event ends, with the surviving players who registered in support of the eventual losing team being automatically knocked out of the poker tournament! However, they can then choose to rebuy at a non-discounted buy-in. This is a great mix of fan favourites and an entertaining take on online poker tournaments …
Get Ready to Bet & Go!
To hit the ground running, the first Bet & Go tournament will take place on Sunday, 20 November at the same time as the Qatar vs Ecuador football match, and additional tournaments are scheduled to coincide with matches over the following weeks.
Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker Global Ambassador, had this to say about the latest addition to the world of Online Poker – “With Bet & Go tournaments, GGPoker players can support their favourite teams or simply take advantage of the biggest discounts and cheer for the underdogs… Watch your team win the event and you’ll be free to continue to play your way into the money; it could be win-win for you!”
If you have yet to become part of the GGPoker family, or you want to broaden your poker horizons, find the latest Online Poker Bonuses and Offers and dive into the action!
Real Money Online Poker has established itself among many around the world as a very popular pastime that provides both a great source of entertainment and countless opportunities to make life-changing sums of money in literally hours. However, despite being naturally associated with winning money (that being the ultimate aim of the game), the game tends not to get the recognition it necessarily deserves on that front. It’s become almost taken for granted among players themselves nowadays that there are regular tournaments with nosebleed level prize pools, so it’s good to see PokerStars – arguably the big daddy of online poker operators – make a point of naming a key part of their tournament offering the Sunday Majors.
Not only do poker fans need to wait just a week rather than months or a year for the next big money event to come around but, in a great contrast to the usual sports, they can take part and actually battle it out for fame and fortune and not merely be spectators. This is the beauty of poker – it’s the ultimate all-inclusive, everyman (and woman) game that doesn’t in any way discriminate. Indeed, it’s possible to turn pennies into millions…
Multiple Majors in the Same Day at PokerStars
As well as the famous Sunday Million (no prizes for guessing how much money is up for grabs in that one…), PokerStars also hosts other Major No-Limit Hold’em tournaments every Sunday. It’s a veritable feast… These can be found via the Lobby under Online Events > Sunday Majors for the Desktop, and the Tourney tab that’s accessed via the Mobile Lobby.
As we mentioned, the size of your bankroll isn’t a barrier thanks to the PokerStars player-friendly ethos, and Satellites (starting at just a few dollars) run throughout the week for most of the big Sunday tournaments. To find these qualifiers in the desktop software, simply select the Satellite filter, while searching Sunday in the Tourney tab does the job if you’re playing on the Mobile version.
The Sunday Kickoff is – surprise, surprise – the first on the Sunday Majors schedule, and the perfect way to start your campaign with a taste of the action.
Meanwhile, there’s the Sunday Warm-Up, which is one of the biggest events in online poker and comes with a guaranteed prize pool to match. The Sunday Storm is characterised by having a low buy-in but big prizes, so is ideal for hobbyists and inexperienced players looking to for an introduction to big money poker.
The aforementioned Sunday Million is the biggest weekly tournament anywhere online and, as such, attracts many players, not least via the comprehensive qualifying set-up.
Finally, a very exciting tournament that typifies the edge-of-your-seat thrills and spills the game provides in spades (see what we did there…?!) is the Sunday Supersonic – a hyper-turbo with a hefty guaranteed prize pool that fits a boatload of action into a few hours…

Real Money Poker isn’t always just about poker… Whether you call it football or soccer, you and just about everyone else on the planet will have noticed that a certain World Cup is kicking off in Qatar this weekend. To celebrate this global sporting showcase, Americas Cardroom is hosting The Cup Challenge on Saturday (19 November), a special and exclusive fun-based tournament with $1,000 in tournament tickets up for grabs as well the actual prize pool.
The Cup Challenge: How It Works
The tournament itself gets underway at 5pm ET on Saturday, 19 November, and has a buy-in of just $6.60 so that anyone can join the fun. The aim is to finish the tournament among the top 32 players and, if you manage this, your eventual finishing position has some significance…
In addition to your share of the prize pool, depending on your final placing in the top 32 of the Cup Challenge, you will also be assigned one of the 32 competing nations’ teams in the World Cup (see below). And that’s your job done! All that remains is for you to enjoy the ‘footie’ and, if by the end of the competition your given team lifts the famous winner’s trophy, you’ll be awarded $1,000 in ACR Tickets! This isn’t your usual online poker tournament by any means.
The $1,000 Ticket Bundle consists of the following:
3 X $215 tickets 2 X $109 tickets 2 X $55 tickets 1 X $33 ticket
Finally, those players who succeed in making the top 32 in The Cup Challenge will be assigned their team according to finishing position, as below:
32nd Tunisia 31st Qatar 30 Australia 29 Ghana 28 Cameroon 27 Saudi Arabia 26 Costa Rica 25 Wales 24 Iran 23 Canada 22 Morocco 21 Ecuador 20 USA 19 Japan 18 Poland 17 Mexico
16 South Korea 15 Senegal 14 Serbia 13 Uruguay 12 Switzerland 11 Croatia 10 Denmark 9 Spain 8 England 7 Germany 6 Netherlands 5 Portugal 4 France 3 Belgium 2 Argentina 1 Brazil
The higher your placing in the tournament, the higher ranked team you’ll be assigned, and the better your chance of pocketing the $1,000 Tournament Ticket Bundle when the World Cup ends on 18 December – that’s a great early Christmas present…
If you’ve not yet joined Americas Cardroom you can sign up now and be ready for this unique tournament… Meanwhile, check out our info section to find the Best Online Poker Bonuses and Offers … have fun, and good luck!
One of the aspects of Online Poker that we give little thought to yet is always right in front of us is the visual aspect of the software – the colours, tone, font, geometry and the layout in general, for example, tend to blend in to the laptop or mobile screen, but are actually of tremendous importance. If we don’t like the look of a poker room then, ultimately, we won’t want to play there. The irony is that we’re not necessarily conscious when we are happy with what we see!
But real money poker sites are constantly taking all these aesthetics and their implications into account, and it’s with this in mind that PokerStars has just overhauled their Spin & Go Lobby.
The changes brought about by the new design have been unveiled in the UK, with a global update expected some time in 2023. As well as new and refreshed colours that have contributed to the new layout, there are also tweaks regarding how information and game details are presented.
Max Hold’em
Here Are the Key Points:
Perhaps the most noticeable visual difference in this fresh Spin & Go Lobby is the switch to darker colours (compared with the white design on the buy-in box).
Hold’em games are now red-themed, Max Hold’em has undergone a transformation to orange, and Omaha Spins are now purple.
Omaha Spins
Meanwhile, the general layout has undergone a spring clean, with the Spin & Go branding relocated from the top to the right-hand side of the Lobby, as well as the option to select the number (and type) of games, which used to be found at the bottom.
So, there you have it – changes that make your whole online poker experience easier on the eye, but which you might not have been fully conscious of. It’s these ‘little’ things that aren’t actually little things that make us appreciate the likes of PokerStars all the more…

While some poker fans like to use Sunday traditionally being a ‘day of rest’ as a day of poker, we often forget about Saturday… Those who come up with tournament ideas and subsequent schedules at GGPoker had the first half of the weekend in mind when putting together the delights that make up the aptly named Saturday Session.
This weekly feature presents players with two great opportunities, namely a selection of tournaments to suit all tastes and bankrolls, and the chance to get busy with your favourite GGTeam members.
Buy-ins start at just $5 across the five events, with one of the guaranteed prize pools being a juicy $100,000 – it’s certainly an interesting prospect to be able to test your poker mettle against successful pros and content creators, but the draw of tasty prizes is never to be sniffed at and is what can make the difference when sorting out your Real Money Poker sessions!
If you find yourself facing this week’s GGTeam members and battling it out to bag their bounty, just remember that online poker is the great leveller of games, and you’ll always have a fighting chance, even if you’re just starting out on your quest for poker fame and fortune.
Your Bounty targets this week are Daiva Byrne, Robin Poker and Kevin Martin… Knock out any of these Special Bounties in the Saturday Session $105 buy-in GGMasters Bonus Bounty tournament and receive a free ticket for the following week’s event!
The Saturday Session at GGPoker, a day dedicated for poker fans to rub virtual shoulders with GGPoker pros, enjoying exclusive tournaments and promotions,is the gift that keeps on giving…
The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOP-E) is now in the books and Swedish player Omar Eljach is the latest owner of a coveted Main Event Bracelet. He made his way through the 763 entry field and a pretty stacked final table to stack up all the chips and his first bracelet win.
This was only Eljach’s 4th career win according to Hendon Mob, and by far his biggest. Not only was this win almost 10x his previous high score, it was nearly 3x his entire career earnings before his latest triumph.
Eljach is no flash in the pan however. He bagged just shy of €130k for winning a Pot-Limit Omaha event at EPT Barcelona this year, and he had a bit more than $500k in earnings prior to his Golden win in Rozvodov yesterday.
In fact, he was within sight of another bracelet earlier in this series. After his four-card win in Barcelona earlier in the year, he made another deep four-card run in the €5k PLO event at this year’s WSOP-E. Eljach made it all the way to heads-up, but had to settle for 2nd place to Ukrainian Roman Verenko.
Stacked Final Table
Eljach was having a great 2022 in the lead up to this Main Event, with an EPT title from Barcelona earlier this year, and a near-bracelet finish in an event earlier in the series. He was in a great position coming into the final table, sitting first in chips and on a career heater, but he wasn’t exactly going in as a shark swimming among the fish.
When he sat down to the final table, there were nine bracelets looking back at him, five of them in the possession of the formidable Shaun Deeb. Deeb had the second biggest stack coming into the final eight, and the perennial Player of the Year runner is a dangerous force at the tables. Deeb is a fierce competitor, especially on the WSOP felt. He has 130 cashes in WSOP tournament events, and in 2018 he bagged the Player of the Year award with two bracelets and five final tables. While he’s only won the PoY title once, he was in the running nearly every year in the 2010s, and is often hailed as WSOP’s Player of the Decade for his relentless runs at the Series.
Shaun Deeb
Two more of the bracelets on the final table were on the wrists of Barny Boatman. The face of the original Hendon Mob, Boatman had more than $3.7 million in wins coming into this Main Event final table and he has wins in every decade since the 1990s. It’s possible Boatman has been playing professional poker longer than some of his competitors at this final table have been alive, but he’s a fierce competitor on any poker table in any decade.
Barny Boatman
Eljach also had to contend with two French bracelet winners across the felt. Alexandre Reard, who represents Unibet Poker, won his bracelet in last year’s COVID-delayed fall series while countryman Jonathan Pastore picked up his hardware in the summer this year.
Eljach was certainly playing well to get to the chip lead going into the final table, but he was clearly running well too. He dispatched one of the bracelet winners from the final table when he sent Reard home on a cooler with aces over queens. Boatman was the next to fall, sending his chips Deeb’s way and dropping another two bracelets off the final table roster.
It actually looked like Deeb might run away with it for his sixth bracelet. He took a big chip lead into three-way play, but the tables turned when Eljach flopped two pair and got some big river value against Deeb. That pretty much signaled the end for Deeb, and he had to settle for 3rd place. That set up a heads-up battle between Pastore and Eljach that see-sawed back and forth between the two players. Both players had huge chip leads with the other player near-felted, but it was finally Eljach who emerged the winner.
