McLuck definitely didn’t have a theme in mind when deciding on its September additions. From what we’ve seen, they stretch from Ancient Egypt to the criminal underworld and then all the way down to Hades. Subtle, they are not but worth trying — definitely.

Divine Queen: Power of Sun comes from BGaming. It’s very obviously a play on Ancient Egypt but at least, it takes it somewhere more futuristic than the usual dusty pyramid backdrop. A golden queen stands over a 6×5 pay-anywhere grid, with winning symbols disappearing and new ones dropping into their place. The main wrinkle comes from cell multipliers: positions involved in consecutive wins can keep doubling, eventually reaching as high as ×128.

Then there is Tommy Gun Gold, from Toucan Royale, which sets up shop in rain-soaked streets and 1930s gangster noir.
