At one point, it felt like this tournament would never end. Twenty players returned for Day 2. It took just an hour and a half to reach the final 9-max table, but the winner wasn’t decided until 10 hours later.

Eelis Parssinen finished in 9th place after losing an all-in with pocket jacks against Javid Ismayilov’s A4s. Board: 5KKQQ, 33.5 BB pot.

Adrian Mateos finished in 8th place after losing a coin flip with 44 against Danny Tang’s AQo in a 31 BB pot. An ace hit the flop. This was Mateos’ first ITM finish in his last 10 Triton events across South Korea and Montenegro.

Mehdi Chaoui finished in 7th place after getting all-in with AQo against Mosböck’s KQs and Foxen’s AJs in a 15 BB pot — a king landed on the river.

Danilo Velasevic finished in 6th place after getting all-in with K4s against Mario Mosböck’s AQo. A queen appeared on the flop in a 23 BB pot. Velasevic has now made two final tables in the last three events.

Patrick Antonius finished in 5th place. With an effective stack of 13 BB, Antonius called a preflop 3-bet and got all-in on the flop with pocket eights against Javid Ismayilov’s pocket tens. Board: 6969Q.

Four-handed play lasted two and a half hours. Every player held the chip lead at some point. Eventually, Kristen Foxen finished in 4th place after losing an all-in with K7s against Mosböck’s ATo in a 14.25 BB pot.

At 3-max, Mosböck had 34 BB, Ismayilov had 18 BB, and Tang had 15 BB.
In his final hand, Ismayilov got all-in with pocket threes against Tang’s aces in a 16.6 BB pot.

Thanks to his 3rd-place finish, Ismayilov was still able to late register the $40K Mystery Bounty and bag 55 BB for Day 2.

Tang started heads-up with 31 BB against Mosböck’s 23 BB. They battled for another two hours. Variance was on Mosböck’s side, as the Austrian won all of the key all-ins:

  • K3o > K9s, 19 BB pot, board 93386
  • QJo > K5o, 23.5 BB pot, board K2AKT — Tang was left with 3 BB but still managed to double up twice afterward

“Just Like 10 Years Ago”: Fedor Holz Wins His Fifth Triton Title in the $40K Mystery Bounty

Did you know that Fedor Holz won the very first Triton tournament?

It happened in January 2016 in the $200K Cali Cup in the Philippines. Holz earned $3,072,748 for the victory, while runner-up David Peters received $2,699,752.

Ten years later, Holz is still crushing. Although he plays much less these days — this was only his second trip of 2026.

The $40K Mystery Bounty drew 111 entries in total. Twenty-eight mystery bounties were assigned, and Holz collected 11 of them. That means he secured at least an additional $440K on top of his regular payout.

In his winner interview, Holz said he felt great throughout the entire tournament and ran well in all the key spots.

For example, in one hand Kiat Lee shoved for 32 BB from UTG with KK, Alex Theologis reshoved for 24 BB from the HJ with JJ, and Holz called from the BB with a stack of 164 BB holding 64s. Board: 26734.

Holz entered heads-up play with 145 BB against Aleks Ponakovs’ 32 BB. The two agreed to a deal. Holz locked up $508,811, while Ponakovs secured $497,189. They left $20K and the trophy to play for.

Ponakovs managed to even the stacks and eventually took the lead. But then a massive hand gave Holz the advantage back — watch the attached video. Effective stack: 35 BB.

Ponakovs was left with just 3 BB. He tripled up three times and climbed back to 22 BB. Then Ponakovs regained the chip lead again with 30 BB. But Holz doubled through with AJs > 84s — Holz moved up to 28 BB, while Ponakovs dropped to 16 BB.

Only Punnat Punsri and Matthias Eibinger have also won six Triton titles. But the all-time leader remains Jason Koon with 12 titles. In heads-up play, Watson defeated Mehdi Chaoui ($450K). Chaoui is the only Triton champion born in the 21st century. Back in March in Jeju, he won a similar turbo event for $747K.

The stream is available on YouTube, Twitch, and Kick.

The tournament attracted 96 unique players from the start (48 invited pairs). As a reminder, VIP players and professionals play in separate pools on Day 1 without facing each other.

This event could become another record-breaker. Last year’s record Triton Invitational Montenegro also started with 96 players and eventually reached 133 entries.
