Triton Montenegro 2025 News: Thoughts Become Actions — Jesse Lonis Proves

An Easy Game for Nacho Barbero in the $30K NLHE

Nacho Barbero took down Event #3: $30K NLHE ($1,025,000).

The key hand for Barbero came during the unofficial final table bubble, when he shoved A7s against Artur Martirosian’s QQ for a 26 BBs pot. Nacho hit an Ace, and Artur finished in 10th place for $86K.

At the final table, Nacho eliminated 6 of his 8 opponents. He entered heads-up against Adrian Mateos with a massive 10:1 chip lead — 50 BBs to 5 BBs.

In the final hand, Mateos shoved with JJ vs Barbero’s QTo for a 19 BB pot. A queen hit the flop.

Nacho Barbero

I ran super good in this tournament, I’m not going to lie. I got the chip lead and I was just pressuring. I was winning every all-in, pretty much.

In 2021, Lonis wrote in an Instagram DM:

Soon I’ll be playing on triton I promise I won’t disappoint.

And that’s exactly what happened.

The most important hand for Lonis in this tournament came during the two-table stage, starting at 2:06:42:

If I don’t make that call then everything is completely different. I’m just happy that I pulled the trigger on that one, for sure. Everyone that knows me knows I never get really down on myself. I always have the confidence that it’s going to turn around as long as I keep doing what I like to do.
You gotta know that it’s a long game and short-term things are going to happen negatively. You just gotta stay level headed, don’t get down, just keep your pedal to the metal and get it all back in one tournament!

Lonis knows what he’s talking about. Before becoming a poker pro, he was a construction worker. He’d get his paycheck, go play poker, lose it all, and head back to the job site. This “cycle” repeated 15–20 times.

Davies has been playing on the Triton Series since 2019. He bricked his first three stops without a single ITM. 13 series and 36 cashes later, he finally claimed his first victory in the $50K NLHE event.

Seth Davies

Most of my biggest success has been on other tours, so it’s really nice to finally have a win at Triton, especially when it means so much to me.
