There’s an unspoken rule that big tournament guarantees come with big buy-ins in tow. This October, Stake Poker asked the question of what would happen if we were to turn that rule of thumb on its head.

Its flagship online event Stake Showdown runs through the end of the year with SC100,000 guaranteed but players don’t necessarily need anywhere close to the full SC1,000 seat price to get involved. The qualification ladder actually starts at just SC0.50, giving you three steps to work through before reaching the main event.

How the Stake Showdown Works

Stake Showdown events are available through the Stake Poker tournament lobby, with players able to enter at any point in the qualification path.

The cheapest route starts at SC0.50. Win through Step 1 and you move to Step 2, then Step 3, with each stage awarding entry into the next.

While the tournament ladder has three steps, players don’t necessarily need have to start from the bottom, either. They can enter at Step 2 or Step 3 directly, or simply buy a Stake Showdown seat for SC1,000.

From there, the game becomes much more familiar Stake Poker survive the field, reach the final table and play for a share of the SC100,000 guaranteed prize pool.
